cakeyj Bosch Rotak 37 LI: ... Well, I hated cutting the grass, we have a substantially large back and front garden both with lawns. What with catching the sun for most of the day and the usual wet British weather it is not unusual to have to mow the grass twice a week during the summertime. Therefore when my lawnmower packed up after only a year I wasn t surprised. My husband had been edging towards replacing the old electric lawnmowe...

glasshill RL500 Robotic Mower
... ago a gadget-mad friend of mine arrived on my doorstep bearing his latest toy - a telephone in a suitcase. It weighed a ton, cost a fortune, had a battery life of about 15 minutes and only worked on the top of hills. I was smitten at first sight. A lightbulb lit up in my head. I realised that this strange contraption was going to change the way we all used phones; utterly, totally and forever. That was the first mobile phone in Brighton and baby, look at them now! Since that solitary flash of insight, my inner lightbulb remained firmly switched off until August last year when a man arrived on my doorstep with big yellow egg on wheels. “This,” he sa...

The+Harmonizer Black & Decker 4x4 Cordless
... general I am very pleased with this mower. Our back lawn is about 200 sqm and the front about 50 sqm. If the mower is fully charged it covers this area easily. The mower is very light and manoeuvrable and the lack of petrol or cord makes it easy to use. I do have two criticisms of this mower: - The first is that the battery does not seem to hold it’s charge and so it needs to be charged before each use. The second is that if you do not adjust the blades correctly and try to cut the grass too long the fuse blows. I was unable to find anyone locally that sold replacement fuses (although they sold the mower) but Black and Decker sent me two replacements free of c...

Rob+Bruce Black & Decker 4x4 Cordless
... mower that I purchased was equipped with a 1200W motor. The battery is 12Ah, which is supposed to be enough for 350m2 of lawn (the equivalent of a tennis court). I find that the battery is insufficient to cut the grass and certainly does not last anywhere near as long as my aspirations. I am not a great gardener, but I try to keep the lawn tidy. The grass length is about 2-3 inches and the motor slows noticeably at this length. I am able to cut about 6 passes of 10metres before the battery gives up completely. A further selling point is the 4x4 wheels. The rear whells can be locked or released giving complete freedom of movement. This doesn't seem to work. I can...
