Flymo Power Compact 400
Advantages: easy and light
Disadvantages: none so far
I've just come in from cutting the lawn and its a boiling hot day, I was going to wait until later this evening but I have to go out, so having used my Flymo Power Compact 400 I hought I'd write all about it.
I first bought my Flymo Power Compact 400 two years ago at Homebase and it cost me £79.99 the price is a little cheaper now but the product is just the same. You can just buy it bring it home, plug it in and away you go cutting the lawn.
The lawn mower is compact and easy to push along and can handle long or short grass, it doesn't seem to bother it if you leave the grass to grow a little longer than you intended too, this mower can mow through it at ease.
It collects the grass onto a box which is attached to the mower and you have to empty this a few times as you go along. I have a large garden so have to empty the grass box four times before my garden is mowed, but the grass box clips on and off easily and can be removed emptied and put back to carry on mowing the lawn.
It has a folding handle for easy storage and wheels along nicely as it is a light to handle mower. It's electric so just press the handle and away you go.
I find it easy to use, I used to have a heavy mower before this one and had to get my husband to mow the lawn, with this one I can carry it from the shed and mow the lawn myself.
I have even left it out in the garden after using it one time and it rained, then thinking it would be ruined I was dubious about plugging it in again, but found that nothing had bothered it and away it went again.
I wouldn't like to risk leaving it out all the time but was surprised it worked after being in a shower of rain.
Once the blade wears down it will cut the grawss but has to be cleared of grass from the blades as it clogs up, be careful to unplug it before doing this, you can buy replacement blades from garden centres or online for £19.99 once you have replaced the blades which just come off with a nut and bolt from the middle then it will cut away again at ease.
There are lots of replacement parts for the mower to buy at extra cost, from blades, drive belts, inspection hatch to grass box lids, but these are useful if you have had the mower along time like I have, just replace worn parts and carry on mowing.
I'd recommend it to you if you are thinking of getting a mower as its light weight and easy to use.
Summary: good brand
