Advantages: Great for cutting through that jungle at the back of your house or front!

Disadvantages: It doesnt cut that well in wet weather.

Can be used for: Cutting grass, chasing the cat and cutting through wires
Comes with: A booklet about how to build this machine
I bought this product from: Argos

~ Overview ~

Basically I bought this to mow the jungle outside our old house and since we have moved it hasn't been out of the house as we only have pebbles in the back garden which is fabulous as the previous house had a humongous garden and you could easily get lost in it.

This little mower rarely let me down and did a fantastic job of mowing away all the weeds and all the other annoying things you find in a garden that hasn't been worked on for about seven years (yes you can picture it - lots of work!).

~ Using the mower ~

Having used this many times in our garden I have cut through the wires two times and have had to shorten the wire by a large amount which means having to pop in and out of the house to swap plug sockets (extra work!).

I have almost been electrocuted several times and so I now have slightly spikier hair than I used to have. My advice would be too hold the wires in your hand whilst mowing the lawn like a maniac. The reason for this was that I hated mowing and that I wanted to get it finished as soon as I could in doing so I rushed around and that is how I cut through the wires twice.

On a serious note I would recommend this mower as it does cut the grass like a dream and isn't that noisy.

~ Do I need Protective glasses ~

Well after mowing a garden that hasn't been cut in years I would recommend anyone doing the same type of garden to wear protective glasses as some objects do tend to whiz up into your face and I have got to say it stings like hell. The worst time was when I cut through a rose bush and it felt like I had been slapped in the face.

~ Moving around with the Flymo ~

I found that this little mower was really easy to manoeuvre around and that as I said before just hold the wires in your hand. The actual weight isn't that heavy and in doing so helps you reserve your energy for the larger bushes you may encounter were the mower really does start to strain to cut.

~ Storage capacity ~

The mower for the size does tend to store large amounts of grass or whatever it may be your cutting and will compact all the material together well. Once it is full the mower will refuse to pick up further grass and in doing means you have to empty it. Don't try to keep going like I tend to do and blow a fuse.
~ Easy to build? ~

I would say the first time me and my wife built the mower, it probably took about three hours when it should of took ten minutes, but after using several times it takes a minute to put up.

~ The lead ~

The lead comes with a protective lead which tends to stop you from getting electrocuted and comes with a 12 metre length.

~ Price ~

The price comes in at around £75 which is quite a nice price for what you get. It has a decent sized wire which enables you to buzz around the garden like a bee especially if you have a garden the size of Wembley.

For the price it really does produce a great job on gardens which are uneven which mine was, so another little tip for you to gather your thoughts over.

~ Conclusion ~

This is a grand lawn mower and will ensure you keep that gigantic garden (jungle) keeps in a nice neat condition especially for those barbeques when friends and family come round to visit.

My advice would be to avoid cutting through the wires and to empty the mower when full (which is probably common sense, but as a novice I struggled).

~ My rating ~
4/5

Summary: This is a great little mower for all those people with small or large gardens!

Also wear proper shoes when mowing - Health & safety. We have a petrol one now so don't have to do the flick and turn with the wire!
