Advantages: Hovers! Lightweight and compact, built in grass box

Disadvantages: No good for hills or really large gardens

**Why Flymo?**

We've always stuck with Flymo's for cutting the grass because its a very reliable brand. What made this flymo really appealing to me, was that it's lightweight. I like to be able to cut the grass sometimes and past mowers we've had are often too heavy for me to shift around with an old whiplash injury. This one's just perfect for those that don't want to be lugging machinery around just to get a simple job done.

**What sort of lawn is the Flymo 330 suitable for?**

I would also say this Flymo is most suited to those with a relatively flat garden of small to medium size. I took it over to a friends recently and their garden is full of lumps and bumps and part of the lawn is a hill. My flymo wasn't really suitable because it became difficult to use and didn't seem powerful enough. For hills, I think you'd have to invest in something a bit more powerful.

**How much? And where from?**

We got our flymo from Amazon for £59 over a year ago so i'm not sure of the price these days. It could well have come down in price. I'd definitely say shop around though because the DIY/Garden stores seem to be so much more expensive these days compared to online retailers like Amazon, Play, Ebay, Argos.

**Design**

Typical of Flymo's colours this is no different in colour. Black and orange in design, its a nifty and compact looking mower. Apart from having to clip the cable guide to the mower and unfolding the handle, it really is just a case of switching on and you're away! The cable length is 12 metres which is plenty enough for the average sized garden. Storage is really easy as the reel hides away inside the mower and the handle is foldable so you can pop it in the garage or a small holding to protect it.

The base of the mower has wheels which makes it really easy to push around the garden. Like I said though, you may struggle with hills, but on the flat it mows easily. The wheels also mean that if you have some paving area in your garden, its safe to push across it, saving you from having to carry it all the way to the lawn. I take mine out of the garage, push it along the garden path and onto the lawn. Simple!

The built in 30 litre grass box collects the grass and when you want to remove the grass, you just open the flap and take out the box. This is better than a huge basket sticking out of the back of the mower, like i've previously had. It's very simple with the built in glass box because you can then dispose of your grass quickly and efficiently. Obviously some grass still lands on the lawn again, so you will end up maybe having to rake some up (or leaving it because you can't be bothered, like me lol)

The flymo has a 1500W motor and a metal blade that can handle thick grass and twigs. With the flymo having an angle design, it's easy to cut right to the lawns edge. I don't really need to use the strimmer that much after having used the mower unlike other mowers that just don't do the edges very well. It also has four different cutting heights from 12mm up to 32mm.

**It Hovers!**

Being a ' hover' mower, the flymo easily glides and hovers across the grass (you'll struggle though if were tackling a complete grass jungle of grass being half a metre high). It's ability to collect lots of grass is more than any other mowers I have bought, so that's another great thing I like about it. It's extremely easy to move around, even with a bad back and whiplash injury! Mowing the lawn is no longer a dreaded chore.

**Be aware that....**

The hole that the grass is sucked up into, can sometimes become clogged. It's always best to unclog it after use so that it doesn't become too much of a problem. If the grass is damp, it's a bit of a messy job.

It's not going to manage steep inclines very well or VERY long grass

If you're garden is estate size, then the 12 metre length cable may not be suitable and you may wish to invest in something larger!

Summary: A fabulous buy for our small garden. Mowing the lawn, is no longer a dreaded chore!
