Deciding on what kind of lawn mower to buy is extremely difficult owing to the vast array of choice available. Of course size & complexity of lawn, coupled with disposable income have to be considered as well. For myself and a relatively modest lawn with no twists or turns there seemed little point in buying anything more ...  Read the complete review

My partner and I were bought this lawn mower when we moved into our house 4 years ago. It has to be said I don't have tons of experience with lawn mowers, but this one does the job nicely. You start it by pressing a button in the centre of the handle and squeezing one the levers at either side of the handle, and off you go. If you release the ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Flymo Turbo Compact 330

Bought this mower little over 12 months ago. To replace my older model. Like all the other negative comments I wished I hadn't bothered. It is out of warrenty and I can't do anything about it. Just like the others it appeared to have burnt out, sparks all over the place. On closer examination I found that the brushes had great big chunks out of them. I thought if I ground them back to square it would correct the fault you guessed it no. I then looked again into the motor and found white melted plastic. I was going to buy a new motor £35 but have now decided not to bother. By the way was this product ever withdraw for being so dangerous???? I wouldn't give this any rating it is so poor but will have to to get this commenton the page. One really angry customer

I've had a Flymo Compact 330 for just over a year.
Operationally it gathers most grass, but at lawn edges it blows grass cuttings everwhere.
Now the motor has started to burn out. I have had a look inside and can report that the problem is not the motor but the wheel at the other end of the belt. It seems to get tight and then the motor overheats and the belt breaks. Bad design I think, as you can't remove the wheel to see what the problem is. I suspect that when the lawnmower is turned at the end of cutting a strip, the blades catch on the grass and twist the wheel above the blades.
One other point, the blades are of very poor quality and require sharpening regularly.
Anyway, I shall not buy another Flymo!!

It is amazing how a bit of sun brings out a vague feeling of manliness that seems to compel men everywhere to dig the lawnmower out of the back of the shed. I am no exception and I have just finished mowing my lawn for the second time in just a few weeks. Something of a first for me as I usually wait for the lawn to reach record breaking ...  Read the complete review

I agree with every comment about this mower - wish I had read the reviews before I bought it - the motor has just caught fire 15 months old and only a lawn of 25 m2.

I have had two of these mowers now, first one caught fire and I thought I was unlucky so I bought another 1.
Had the mower about 15 months and guess what.
It catches fire again, melts all the plastic bits underneath.

Steer clear of this mower, in fact I am going to steer clear of this manufacturer altogether now.

Not very good, motor burned out on mine after just a few ( less than 12) cuts on a small lawn. Not as good as earlier models my previous one was 15 years old before that stopped working. This one is rubbish by comparison, I won't be buying another.

FLYMO 330 is USELESS. DO NOT BUY ONE. After 5 mowings belt broke. New belt does not grip. Please read other reviews & you will see this is not an isolated case. I was told it was a very badly designed mower which accounts fot the fact that there are several sizes of belt for the same model. apparently there is some modification to tension the ...  Read the complete review

Bought a Flymo 300 compact about 2 years ago. We have atiny lawn and if anything, the machine was a bit overkill - would deal with our lawn in about 5 minutes. Anyway, used 6 times then developed wild vibration and grinding noise. Contacted Flymo who told me where the local agent was - nice and handy, only 2 miles away. So I took it there and ...  Read the complete review

If you are reading this review with a view to purchasing a flymo 330 vision mower then do please read on, it may change your mind and save you some money. My old petrol cylinder mower was just about clapped out so at the start of spring I bought the flymo 330 vision mower, £99.00, not bad I thought, boy was I wrong. In summary, my advice is don't buy one of these unless you're a shareholder! I purchased one in June 01. It lasted until the middle of August 01, being used weekly on a not very big lawn (approx 10x 29 metres). It struggled (seemed to be gasping for air) if the grass was dry and especially if there hadn't been a lot of ...  Read the complete review

Hi All and thanks for reading this. I have two small-medium size lawns. One is 30'x 10' and the other is 20' x 10'. I didn't have a lawnmower so I visited the local DIY "Superstore" for advice and to spend some of my hard earned cash. My requirements were simple and nothing new or revolutionary. Regrettably I have to promote this particular product as there is not a "zero" star rating. I purchased my Flymo compact 300 last June thinking it would be sufficient to mow my medium sized lawn. If I’m being totally honest with you, gardening isn’t my favourite thing in the world (or at least it didn’t used to be!) I used to really hate mowing my lawn. The garden itself isn’t all that big really, so the maintenance of it isn’t too bad – it was just the whole palaver of cutting the grass with my older ...  Read the complete review

We have a pretty large garden. Well two actually, a front and a back. Also, living on a corner, we have the painstaking task of doing the side of our house, which as we live on a hill is a pig to do because of the slope. So, when our shiny new lawnmower came, I decided to give the garden a go. I was used to a tiny lawnmower ...  Read the complete review

Spring is here, and the lawn is looking pretty ragged after a long, wet winter. Time to rummage around in the shed, dust off your rusty electric mower...and probably discover it's as dead as a dodo! If, like mine, your old mower hasn't made it into 2001 intact, it's time to head off to the garden centre or DIY store before ...  Read the complete review

I got this mower a few months ago and it's pretty good. If you've never had a flymo then you've been missing out! They are rather plasticy but are built and designed very well. This one particularly well thought out and performs well. I have the unfortunate blessing of a garden on a slope and the flymo does become a little ...  Read the complete review

This is a light versatile mower. Having had a Qualcast last but one and then a dreaded Black and Decker before this I have to say we are over the moon with this product. Easy to maintain with a removable lightweight grass collector which really works this time.
