Flymo Turbo Lite 330
Advantages: Small, easy to navigate, 4 heights, strong
Disadvantages: Cable too short
When I was living away at collage and living with friends we had a small back garden but it was a great little garden because the owner took the time to landscape it which makes it very appealing to go out into the garden and sunbath or have bbq's. I would say about 3 quarters of the garden was all grass and we had all the tools in the shed to keep it neat and tidy, except for the most common thing you would need in that shed, you guessed it, a lawn mower.
So as a house we all went out lawn mower shopping and had a few disagreements about what type, some wanted the powerful ones ( expensive) and some wanted the not so powerful ones (not so expensive).
We eventually settled on this Flymo turbo lite 330.
The Flymo turbo lite is a orange in colour unit with the main part of the lawnmower being very small in size (especially if your use to the bigger ones), once you plug this in you do feel that there is a little power when turning the Flymo on with the motor being 1150w, the underneath blade that cuts down your grass is a 13 inch cutting blade, once you have gotten into a rhythm while cutting the grass even though it says "lite" it does weigh 9kg and although that doesn't weigh a lot it looks like it should weigh less and every time I picked it up to use it I was always surprised, you may find (as I did) that the cable just isn't long enough to get around the whole garden measuring at only 12 meters in which case you will require an extension cable to allow the Flymo to zip around your garden, the Flymo has 4 cutting levels starting at 10mm all the way up to 30mm.
The great thing about the Flymo is how compact it is and does not require a lot of room to store, you may find that the long bar that extends off the Flymo is a little long but it allows for a great sweeping motion with your arms so it moves a lot smoother feeling a cushion of air under the Flymo, as you already may know the Flymo has no wheels, but this takes nothing away from it.
One thing I wish it did have was some way to pick up the grass as you cut (like my more powerful wheeled lawnmower) but then I guess that takes away the compactness of this Lawnmower, so make sure you have your rake near by.
Being such a tiny thing and once you are use to the weight it does get the job done quickly and effectively, but keep in mind that this is great for little gardens, if you have a big garden it will still get the job done but in a much longer time and after a while you will start to feel the weight of the Flymo, although it does state for medium to large gardens I wouldn't advise it, again it wont hurt the Flymo but it could effect you
You can buy the Flymo Turbo Lite 330 from Amazon for £52.49 which for a lawnmower is great.
It's a great little zip around Lawnmower that will get a small garden done in no time and a little required raking at the end, an extension cord is advised, it only takes the littlest of effort to maintain the Flymo and keep it at its peak efficiency, little room is required to store this little orange gem.
Summary: Flymo turbo lite is only suitable for small gardens
