Avon Footworks Heel Softening Cream
Advantages: Works in the short term and is simple to use
Disadvantages: No long term effects are given
When it comes to my feet I don't know about you but they're really the last thing I pay attention too on my body! I'm pretty good at pampering myself and as long as my feet look ok and my nails polished I'm good to go. However we've had a few days of sunshine (yes, I know I did say a few lol) and me loving shopping like I do went out and bought lovely flip flops, gladiator sandals...well you get the picture! All was well till I got all ready, popped on a summer dress and my lovely new sandals and noticed my heels and the balls of my feet. I couldn't believe I'd neglected them so badly! They looked really dry and some of the skin on the base of my feet looked discoloured and a little brown looking. I had a few little cracks as well... I was unimpressed!
Now usually I'm a fan of 'Gorgeous Feet' from Boots (please read my reviews on the stuff!). However I was no near Boots and a bit skint through spending on all the sandals I'd acquired and my Mother gave me a brand new tube of this that she had purchased for herself but after spying my feet realised I was in greater need than her!
75ml tub with a green plastic twist on/off cap/lid to the bottom of it. On front of the tube there is a green leaf and pink flower pattern on it (it is the same product as depicted on the photograph at the top of this page but it's a special edition tube) and I'm told it is Avon Foot Works Heel Softening Cream (and then told that in a foreign language) and the size is stated and there is a drawn on foot on there. On the back of the tube I'm told a bit about the product (and then told that over and over in different languages), ingredients are listed and the recycle symbol is displayed along with contact details for Avon. It's a nice enough looking tube this one however I do feel that this would have benefited from a flip top opening cos it's a pain to do up and stuff when you've been using the cream.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back of The Tube:
Improves dry/rough skin with 24 hour plus moisturisation. To Use: Apply with fingertips and massage gently into the skin. Warning: Avoid contact with the eyes.
Me Using It:
Well this is really very easy to use indeed. All you need is a small amount of the white cream which squeezes very easily out of the tube and it is really lightly fragrant in a creamy way and smooth in consistency. All you then do is apply as directed by Avon to your clean heel of your foot. You don't need to rub it in with vigour just a gentle sweep is all it takes and it absorbs in seconds.
Once this is on it feels slightly greasy to start with then it dries in totally leaving no apparent residue on your skin. It leaves feet feeling, fresh and slightly refreshed and of course you don't have to just use it on the heels of your feet you can apply it anywhere on the feet you desire.
I have seen no long term effects with using this daily for the past two weeks, though economical this product truly is because I've still got over 3/4 tube left cos after-all your only using it on your heels say once a day (if using it as directed). Although I have seen nor felt any long term benefits I do appreciate the short term ones. Skin feels smoother and more comfortable to live in for sure. If you have tingling skin through a hard day of being on your feet this instantly helps with that and skin feels less tight if applied to them problem areas. Once on as well I find the benefits of it being on do last a good 5 hours in the way that you can touch your heels and skin feels much more hydrated than without it on.
This is a nice little product but if you have really bad dry cracked heels then I think you need to exfoliate them and use a far more intensive moisturising product but if you just want an instant softener then this is simple to use, gives acceptable benefits and is economical too!
Only available from Avon priced usually at £4.00 a tube but at the time of writing this review it is on offer for £2.00 a tube! Do look out for this particular range of products being on offer as they usually are!
