As you may have already seen, I previously wrote a review on the Odor Eaters foot spray. I decided to pick up this Odour Control Foot Spray by Beauty Formulas to use in the same way, just as a cheaper alternative. The reason I picked up one of these is because the spray I currently use is quite expensive in comparison, so I thought I would give this ago. The reason I use foot spray is to help prevent bad odour from my feet (embarrassing but true), as well as trying to combat fungal infections and athletes foot.
Body Formulas is not really a brand I have heard much about, therefore I was not expecting big things from this product. When I spotted this out shopping, they also offered a shoe spray, but I opted for the foot spray. It is available to buy online on Beauty Formula's website www.beauty-formulas.co.uk and it retails at £3.99. Personally, I think this price is staggering, and the product is not worth half of that. Thankfully, I did not pay this price as I spotted it in my local Bodycare store for only 95p which I think is an absolute bargain, especially in comparison to their website. 95p is hardly any money, therefore I thought it was worth the risk and gave it a go.
You get 150ml worth of product in the can, which I think is a substantial amount for the price. The can is blue and white in colour with an image of a foot on the front as you can see in the image. Nothing too fancy, but it's what's inside the can that counts.
To use this product is really simple. Just remove the lid from the top, and then press down the top to spray all over the feet. I tend to stay around 20cm - 30cm away from the feet just because it works best for me that way. The spray is completely colourless so you don't have to worry about any white marks which other foot sprays have. It is really simple to use, and as it comes out quite quickly, you can spray both your feet within seconds. I tend to spray on the top and bottom of my feet, as well as in between my toes. As far as ease of use goes, this is fantastic.
However, things really started to go wrong soon after I had sprayed this. I know the smell of foot sprays are never particularly nice, as they are working to mask your own foot odour. This one however is just completely unbearable. The scent is hard to describe, as it is just so powerful and strong it goes right up your nose and you can feel as if you are eating it almost. Despite only lightly spraying my feet in the opposite direction where I am facing, I still end up coughing and choking at the pong this spray gives off. It sounds ridiculous, but you really have to see it to believe it. Just to double check it was not just me it had this effect on, I did it when my boyfriend was also in the room and he burst out coughing too. I found this too much of a problem, and it has put me off using it again.
Once you are over the vile scent of this, the product can start to get working. Despite being quite wet in consistency when it hits the skin, it does dry really quickly. I was really hoping due to the overwhelming scent that it would actually mask my foot odour. I do suffer from a little foot odour but nothing major, so I am not after something that works miracles. This foot spray however is just useless. It does absolutely nothing to mask or cover any foot odour, and I noticed no change in mine. If anything, the awful scent of the spray just mixed with the smell of feet to create an even worse odour. I was really disappointed with this product, so now I just use it before bed to cool down my feet. I find that it works very well as a cooling foot spray, but just not as an odour spray which it is meant to be.
Overall, I was very disappointed with this foot odour spray from Beauty Formulas. It works great as a cooling spray, but unfortunately does nothing at all for those suffering from foot odour. Not only this, but the awful smell has put me off using it altogether. This was expected for 95p, but it was definitely worth a go. Thanks for reading and hope it helps.
