An Irritating Condition
If any of you have suffered from athlete’s foot you will know that it isn't at all pleasant. It doesn't look good but the worst thing about it is the itching.
The condition of athlete’s foot makes one’s feet hot and they will itch like mad. Athlete’s foot is excruciatingly awful at night when the feet become over heated and then they will itch to distraction.
To The Rescue
Fortunately for me when I have had this condition it hasn't lasted for long at all and I put this down to treating the condition quickly and with the right medication.
Boots Athlete Foot Cream is, in my opinion, a good treatment for this annoying condition.
After cleaning and drying the feet the cream can be lightly smeared onto the affected area (which is most likely to be between and underneath the toes) and this should soon stop the itching. I find it usually works within a few minutes if used soon after the itching starts.
Not only will it stop the itching but it will also cool down and calm the affected area. This will give the athlete’s foot a chance to clear up.
The cream should be applied once a day for a period of one week.
If the athlete’s foot does not clear up after one week then you should see a doctor. I must say that this cream has always worked for me and for other family members.
•This treatment is not recommended for children under the age of sixteen.
The cative ingredient is terbinafine hydrochloride 1% w/w
Also contains sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, isopropyl myristate, purified water.
In my opinion this is a good product that works well and quickly. I do think that there are better creams in terms of the feel and texture of the cream as it is applied but it is reasonably priced and effective.
I would recommend this treatment.

I have really horrible feet and from time to time I suffer from Athlete's foot breakouts. It's not a nice feeling or a nice look and this time around instead of itchy feet I just got lots of peeling skin around my toes and it didn't look very nice at all. I thought initially that it was just really dry skin but after using a foot file and moisturising regularly it did not go away so I had a thought that it might be athlete's foot again and I was right.
To quote an article I read, "is a fungal infection of the skin that causes scaling, flaking, and itch of affected areas, and in severe cases, swelling and amputation of the foot. It is caused by fungi in the genus Trichophyton. The disease is typically transmitted in moist communal areas where people walk barefoot, such as showers or bathhouses, and requires a warm moist environment, such as the inside of a shoe, in order to incubate."
I hadn't tried this particular cream from Boots for athlete's foot before but I usually like to buy store brands as they are generally cheaper and tend to work just as well so I purchased a 15g tube of cream from Boots for around £5. On the packaging it says this cream is for, "the treatment of athlete's foot and for the effective relief of the itching and burning, cracking and scaling which accompanies these conditions."
The cream comes in a little tube which is made of that squeezable metal packaging which I think keeps the cream inside nice and fresh. Upon first opening the cream there was a seal at the top of the tube which I broke with the point in the back of the lid. You are advised to cleanse and dry the affected area and then apply the cream in a thin layer and rub in gently. The cream is white and doesn't really have a smell which is nice as some medicated creams can often smell really strong but this doesn't. After I apply the cream I tend to put socks on over it so the cream does not rub off when I am walking around. I like to apply the cream last thing at night before I go to bed so it also has a better chance of staying on. The cream soaks in well and disappears after a few minutes which is nice.
This cream worked really well for me. It says you are only supposed to sue it once a day for a week which I duly did and the peeling skin really healed up nicely and now I have no traces of any athlete's foot which is nice. I guess I am probably a bit susceptible to this fungus so I can't say that this cream won't stop me getting it again but at least it will clear it up when I get it again!!
