      Helps with foot odor problem

Even when wearing socks, my feet sometimes smell especially after a long period of time wearing shoes. Usually, a good foot scrub, wash and moisturise helps, but the recent unpredictably wet and humid weather where I live has left my foot smelling rather... unpleasant.

My desperate search of help led me to Superdrug, and landed myself a new Scholl Deo.Activ Fresh Foot Gel (100ml). It usually costs £5.99, but Superdrug was having a promotion, so it costs me £4.99. It is cheaper on amazon.co.uk at £4.49.

Scholl is a popular brand of foot / foot care product, part of the SSL Group. The Scholl brand has various products such as shoes, foot moisturisers, corn removals etc.

Scholl has always solved my embarrassing foot problems such as cracked heels.

The packaging of the foot gel is in the signature blue, yellow and white associated with the Scholl brand, and is in a squeeze tube. The lid is easy to open. On the front of the packaging, the product states that it "care + clean + protect" the feet and has an effectiveness of up to 24 hours. It has an "aseptix active technology" and has aloe vera and vitamin B5 in its ingredients for skin care.

I do not know what is this aseptix technology, but further research indicated that it is a highly effective disinfection solutions based on water and water derivatives... which is also used in hand sanitisers.

Further details on the product is available on the back of the packaging. It highlights that the product:

      - Instantly freshens
      - Has long lasting deodorising effect
      - Quick drying, non greasy, non sticky and leaves no residue
      - Limits growth of bacteria that cause foot odour for up to 24 hours; and
      - Immediately cooling effect

How you would use the product is to just apply a generous amount to the foot and massage thoroughly and to repeat if necessary. There is no limit to how much usage indicated, so I presume you can use it as often as you want.

      Ingredients include:
Alcohol denat, aqua, propylene glycol, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, panthenol, aloe barbardensis gel, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, aminometyl propanol, parfum, inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide

When I open the lid, the smell and texture reminds me of hand sanitiser (the ones in the gel form) and when applied, it evaporates quickly. I presume that alcohol may be one of the ingredients, but correct me if I am wrong.

The smell is fresh woody / pinewood kind of scent (I am not good with fragrances, please correct me if I am wrong too). The tube is easily squeezed with good control. Just a pearl size is enough for one foot. When applied, my feet feels fresh and light (instead of wet and sticky previously).

After just one application, my feet smells good but it lasts only temporarily if applied once. But after using it daily for one week, my feet smells good again.
I think it is because of the "limiting growth of bacteria technology". I now only use the product once I am out for a long period of time. However, I would recommend to use some foot moisturiser after application, as it could be drying.

I totally recommend this product to anyone with embarrassing foot problem such as mine. 4 dooyoo star from me.
