Superdrug hard skin remover
I seem to get more hard skin on my feet during the winter months and decided it was time to do something about it.
This hard skin remover is available from Superdrug stores and online at www.superdug.com and costs £2.99. However, as is often the case, Superdrug have offers on foot care products; buy one get one half price. Not a bad price when I looked at the other options available.
This promises to provide immediate relief from calluses and hard skin build up and is apparently designed to remove and smooth the areas of the skin to leave feet feeling softer.
It is white and rectangular in shape and fits easily in my hand. When I first get it out of the packaging, it does feel really hard and actually unpleasant and I believe this will really hurt my feet and probably leave them bleeding! For me an awful feel.
To use it, feet and remover should be clean and also wet. I find that when the remover is wet, it doesn't feel quite as horrible and hard but its still not nice. Then using a slow and gentle (obviously) action, you need to rub away at hard skin. I have tried it on my heels and underneath my feet, wherever I feel my feet need a little bit of help and because it is so hard and such an unforgiving texture, its important to rub very gently. I think too much pressure and going over the same part too often would leave feet bleeding or at least rub way too much of the skin off.
After use the product should be washed in warm water and left to dry naturally. This is easy enough and by doing this, I find that it does stay clean although not as pristine white as when I first bought it.
This is effective at removing hard skin but be careful! Its very synthetic feeling and I think I would have preferred something a bit more natural looking in texture and colour. After use its important to moisturise feet using a calming moisturiser because if not I think my feet would feel quite traumatised. I did have a corn at one stage but didn't dare use it on the corn because its way too hard and I would have felt uncomfortable taking off the orn plaster and subjecting my toe to this.
Effective but probably better suited to someone who has more hard skin than I have and so more layers to remove.
Thanks for reading
