      lovely, soothing balm

      ~AAAHHH!~

AAAHHH! Soothing Balm from Temple Spa is a product which claims to soothe feet and limbs. This product hasn't been tested on animals and is full of plant extracts and essential oils. Temple Spa state that this balm can help reduce fluid retention and swelling as well as refreshing and soothing sore and tired legs. It is suitable for all skin types and is said to be ideal for using after a pedicure!

AAAHHH! has a relatively small ingredients list. Key ingredients include dandelion to reduce swelling and methol for its cooling properties. Other ingredients include dill seed oil, lavender, black pepper oil, patchouli, myrrh, galbanum, geranium, bitter orange and frankincense.

AAAHHH! should be applied direct to the skin and massaged in with upwards strokes. It can be applied to the back of the neck as well as the leg and foot area.

      ~Packaging~

AAAHHH! is presented in a tall, cylinder shaped container made of frosted plastic. The design is very simple yet practical. The gel is dispensed via an 'airless pump' which means there is no wastage and it is all perfectly hygenic. This product has a 12month shelf life.

      ~Price~

A 150ml bottle of AAAHHH! can be purchased from the Temple Spa website - www.templespa.com priced at £18.00. If you would like to sample this product before commiting to a full size bottle, a seller on eBay has the 30ml bottles priced at £2.50 with £1.00 postage. It actually works out cheaper to buy 5 smaller bottles from eBay than one full size bottle from the company website!

      ~My Thoughts~

I do quite a lot of walking (exercise and general nursery run/shopping etc) and my feet get very sore and tired quickly. This happens moreso when I have done quite a bit of walking. I am trying to lose weight just now and myself and my sister are walking several miles a few times a week around the local park (a mixture of smooth pavements and rougher footpaths). When my feet and legs are particularly sore, I like to apply something to soothe them.

My sister gave me a 30ml bottle of AAAHHH! to try out and I can confirm that this has lasted me quite a while. I don't think I would be able to use up 150ml in the 12 month timescale and I find my small bottle fine for my needs. I previously used a Body Shop product but prefer AAAHHH! as it is suitable for my legs too so it is versatile if a little expensive for what it is!

AAAHHH! is a very pale green colour. Despite being classed as a 'balm', this product is actually a balm/gel mixture. It reminds me of unset jelly - quite gloopy but liquidy at the same time. I would imagine that the pump bottle dispenses the balm a bit easier but I find that shaking my little bottle prior to dispensing encourages the product to mix up a little and be less liquidy.

AAAHHH! is a pleasant product to use. When I open my bottle, the scent is quite strong and the essential oils come flooding out. I find that the geranium and lavender are most prominent and it is actually quite a pleasant scent - quite refreshing and definitely a mood lifter. It is perfect for applying morning, noon or night but I prefer to apply it as and when it is needed.

The texture of this balm/gel is very lightweight and whilst thick when dispensed, it changes to a thin, oily layer once it is rubbed over skin. The cooling and soothing effects of this balm are instant and much more apparent than other foot products I have used in the past. A tiny blob of this balm goes a long way and I do not need to use much to coat my each foot and the bottom of each leg in a soothing layer.

AAAHHH! feels amazing on my feet and legs. I take time to massage it over my skin and despite feeling oily at first, the balm absorbs fully into my skin leaving no residue. I have experienced no irritation either. AAAHHH! offers instant relief to my sore areas and completely cools the uncomfortable areas. My feet feel instantly refreshed, revived and perfectly soothed. The relief offered to my legs and often swollen ankles is immense and I can literally say "AAAHHH!" so they have named this product very well indeed!

The cooling and soothing effects do last. Any sore and tired areas feel cold but in a refreshed way for the rest of the day. This makes me feel more content. This balm also leaves my skin smelling fresh and if I have had my trainers on all day whilst walking, it does a good job of keeping my feet free from odour. Whilst the essential oil scent was more noticeable at first, during application, the menthol scent is quite strong and reminds me of Airwaves chewing gum - this alone adds to the cooling nature of this product.

      ~Conclusion~

I use this occasionally and only when my feet and legs are feeling a lot of strain from walking around. I wouldn't buy the 150ml size bottle as it wouldn't be any good for my requirements but the handy, travel sized bottles suit me perfectly as the product lasts incredibly well. If you suffer from sore feet and ankles regularly then this is the product for you. I can highly recommend you try this!

      Thanks for reading :)
