The Lego duplo animals set Lego Duplo Lego Ville 4972 that this category is here for no longer exists as far as I can tell. I have searched the Lego website and can not find it. I visited Amazon and although listed, it says out of stock. I suspect this set is no longer available.
However it is possible that there is some parts of it still around in playgroup and nursery collections, or maybe


However there are several duplo Lego animal sets that are similar.

The Lego Ville animal set included two large 8 stud bricks one dark green one light green. Two small 4 stud bricks one dark green one light green. One yellow small 4 stud brick. Duplo bricks identical to this are defiantly still available.
There was one orange 5 flower shape brick with 5 petals in the Lego Ville set, there is now a yellow flower brick and a blue flower brick available in some of the duplo farm sets.
There was a Lego person in blue dungarees and a green hat the same figure is available in the duplo big farm set.
Four animals were included in this set a dog, a sheep, a pig and a cow these animals except for the dog all available in the big farm set. As well as the previous items there was a blue wheelbarrow. There were 12 pieces in total


I am not sure how much this farm animal set would have retailed at but the following are prices for the farm sets I can find.

Lego was founded in 1932; the name abbreviated from the words in Danish that mean play well was founded. In 1969 Duplo was introduced, the name has changed slightly several times since then but now called Duplo again , although there are now some other variations on the Lego brick. The Duplo logo is a red rabbit. The logo design introduced in 2004 slightly different now to the rabbit logo first drawn in 1978.




Duplo bricks are recommended for children over one year old, the bricks are bright primary colours. Twice the size of standard Lego. They will fit with some standard Lego. I really like duplo bricks for 18 month to 3or 4 year olds at the age of about 4yopur child will still get fun from duplo and will be beginning to be able to use standard Lego too.

The farm duplo sets are a good way to get your child familiar with farm animal shapes and names, lovely to play with before and after a farm visit. These bricks will encourage imaginative play. There were enough bricks in the Lego Ville set to let your child pretend to be the farmer and look after the animals.

Duplo bricks are good for your child to practice both gross and fine motor control moving the bricks from one place to another and fitting them together building and then taking constructions apart.
You can start to encourage /teach colour names and counting too. Name the colours of the bricks ask your child the colour. Count the animals or the bricks, remembering to praise your child; do not be to intense though enjoying just playing with your child.

Duplo bricks are long lasting my grandson aged 4 plays with my daughters duplo animals and other shapes too. She had those 27 years ago when she was two. I would not hesitate to buy duplo second hand as I am sure it will have little or no damage. Duplo is easy to wash and disinfect, I frequently do at work .I think you will find duplo at most child care situations nursery and preschool groups. I know I seen and played with them in most if not all of the places I have worked.

I would certainly recommend Duplo farm animals as a Christmas present for a child aged between 1 and 4.
