==Lego Black Knights Castle 6073==

This castle from Lego incorporates a few of Jack's favourite things which is probably why he loves it so much! Castles, Knights and Lego. A young boys dream!

The set is an old one as it was dragged out of Mum's loft around a year ago and the excitement that Jack had was like Birthday's and Christmas all rolled into one! The Castle has stood the test of times in more ways than one as the bricks were all in a good order, the instructions were still with it and its as fun today as it has always been.

The castle is a rather large piece and made up of entirely small grey and red bricks. There are no special shaped bricks as you get with modern sets of Lego as this is old style 80s design where the whole thing is made from various lengths and thickness of square type bricks. The whole thing was in pieces when we pulled it out the loft and the few bits that were stuck together already were pulled apart so that we could follow the instructions from the very beginning. Putting the whole thing together took nearly two hours but we weren't particularly rushing.

The instructions as always with these Lego items were clear and concise even if they were a little tattered and torn. The set includes a lot more than just a castle and of course comes complete with "The Black Knight" who of course is the scariest of all the six Knights included. His black horse and black outfit makes him really look better than all the other bog standard knights.

There are three horses included, six little knight figures which each have a shield and some sort of armour. They all have proper knights helmets, spears, bow and arrows and the like and of course these are all up to the usual Lego standard of being a great quality.

There are a few good points to this castle and these are the facts that you can lower the drawbridge via a cord and a turn knob which is easy to do and is pretty necessary when paying with a castle such as this. The castle also opens up so that you can play actually inside the castle easier. Inside the castle there is a little walk way around the top of the castle which makes it easy to stand the little Lego men up with their bow and arrows to shoot down on the enemy!

The two large turrets that are at the back of the castle make for another good area to play from and they are also made more fun by the addition of a couple of flag poles with waving flags that look as though they have been caught in the wind.

The whole item is a really good one and Jack does love to play with it. I should think in its day it was quite a pricey item and having seen it on eBay a short while ago, I don't think that the price would have altered too much although the price of the pound surely has.

Lego is of course a timeless toy which is surely shown here as both my brother and Jack have now got tons of enjoyment from it and it is still as good today as it was then (after a bit of a scrub down). It has got to get top marks of 5 out of 5 stars and an exceptionally high recommendation!

I think I am starting to like Lego as much as Jack is!

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.

Summary: A great item
