Poor Value for Money (Lego 6119 Creator: Roof Tiles)

I thought that it would be good value for money to buy a box of these Lego roof tiles and make a house or two out of the bricks we've already got, rather than pay through the nose for one of the big Lego houses (they cost £30 upwards usually).

A box of these roof tiles costs £8.80 from Amazon and you can get it from the Lego site direct or from toy shops too of course. The box itself isn't very big, but I expected to be compensated for this by the box being full. Sadly I was disappointed.

Opening the box I found no more than two man-size handfuls of red roof bricks. Even more disappointing, when we tried to build with these, we realised that we didn't have enough of the corner end pieces to finish! Yet we had far too many of the alcove corner pieces than was sensibly needed.

In terms of value for money, this is a very poor buy. If you look at the pictures accompanying this review, you'll see a picture showing two blue houses with roof bricks on them. To be honest, I think you could just about make one of those roofs with what's included here.

I wish I'd saved the money and put it towards buying a proper Lego house. At least then I'd have felt like I got something for my money.
