A set which is worth every penny

==Lego Star Wars The Battle Of Naboo 7929==

Jack has just turned 4 and the majority of his birthday presents were Lego Star Wars sets which is just what he wanted. As we have been saving hard for our new house we personally weren't able to get him the large item of Lego Star Wars that he wanted as it was £89 and far too expensive for us which is why we opted for this smaller set for him. He did however manage to get enough money off of friends and family to buy himself the large set so he didn't miss out!

This Lego Battle Of Naboo set looked really good and I was actually looking forward to giving it, setting it up with him and having a good old battle. Having had to watch the Star Wars films back to back with him for the past year or so I am more than familiar with this vehicle from the film and I must say they have done a good job in re-creating it for the Lego market.

I purchased this set at my local toy shop for £25.99 p which is the recommended sale price although having just checked online Amazon are selling it for around the £18 region which is slightly sickening but I don't think it was on offer when we purchased it. This price is actually pretty good especially when you consider how much Lego you get for your money and how many little droids come with the set.

What you get for your money with this set is a large vehicle which houses all the droids bent over and in total there are 8 battle droids, 2 droid pilots, Jar Jar Binks and a Gungan solider. Along with this each droid has a little gun and the Gungan solider has a energy shield and a bomb stick while jar Jar Binks has a couple of bombs. The set is made up of 241 bricks, parts for the mini figures and the accessories and in my opinion represents a good deal.

The set was pretty easy to bild and took no longer than 20 minutes for us to work together putting the battle ship together and Jack doing all the mini figures by himself. The age range for this particular set is for children aged 7 to 12 although Jack being just 4 gave a really good go at helping to build it and seemed to be an expert at building all the figures. This is probably helped by the wonfully done instructions that come with the set and as always Lego make sure that the diagrams for construction are simple and clear.

Once up and built it has to be said that this little set really is impressive. Eight of the droids can be bent in half and "asleep" ready for battle action and although these can be fiddily to replace if you take them off, having them there looks really good and very different from any other of the Lego items in this series that we have. The two pilot droids are distingused because of their blue body armour that they have and these two can stand at the front of the ship to steer it and instruct on the battle.

Having Jar Jar Binks makes a great addition to our really massive collection and having another Gungan solider with him makes the playability of the set even greater. This is another one of those sets that would be good to purchase and play with even if you didn't have another other Star Wars sets as you have the "goodies" and the "baddies" and can create a pretty realistic fight scene between the two. Seeing as we have so much of this series from Lego now Jack really loved setting this item up next to all the rest and making it pride of place (for now).

There hasn't really been much rebuilding of this set and apart from the droids being in place bent over there has been no trouble with bits falling off and having to be rebuilt. Jack is hardly the gentlist when it comes to playing with these sets but this one seems up for a good deal of heavy handedness.

The item for the money is well worth getting and would make a great present for any little Lego or Star Wars fans. It is sturdy and has tons of playability which really stretches the child imagination. This is not a toy that will ever break and end up in the bin and re-sales of Lego are really good and so in my opinion getting this Lego for Jack is a little bit of an investment too. He loves to play with it and I can really find no fault with it. The ship is a memorable one from the film and Lego have morphed it into their creation really well.

I think nothing but a top score of 5 out of 5 stars will do for this Lego set and I would highly recommend it!

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you

many thanks for taking the time to read.
