Advantages: Varied, Fun and Functioning Dumper

Disadvantages: Little Small

As you will probably have noticed, we get through a lot of Lego in our house at the moment. Our grandson is mad about it and me and the daughter aren't that far behind him in enthusiasm. One of the latest additions to the collection is this recycling truck. It costs just under £13 from the Lego shop or from toy shops and even Tesco where we got it from.

It's quite a sizeable box, so I have to admit to expecting a bit of a bigger truck than we got. I was surprised by how small it is actually, but I suppose it is to scale with the lego minifigure included who has to drive and load up the truck.

The pieces come in their seperate little plastic bags like Lego sets usually do in the boxes, and there is a really large quantity of small fiddly bits in this set. It's suitable for children aged five to twelve years, but I think most children at the younger end of this age range will need some help with all the little fiddly bits.

The instructions for this set are very clear and easy to follow. The bit my grandson, and even I myself, struggled with a bit was the functioning tip up lever though. I'm referring to the lever that has to be attached to the truck to allow the back compartment to tip up. I found this a bit tricky to get all of the right pieces in the right places to get it to work, but once I'd figured it out and got it into place it was fine.

Once assembled, this is a fun little set. It is a bit smaller than I was expecting but there are lots of bits included here to fuel any little person's imagination. The dustman minifigure included can put his bin wheelie onto the roof, jump into his truck carriage and drive off around Legoland to collect up all the recycling. Then he can take it all to the tip to empty it out afterwards. Lots of play appeal here and a great addition to any Lego town I think.

Summary: Highly Recommended
