Lego in General ... Lego: childhood memories personified; I love it! There are two great things about Lego. Firstly, it encourages creativity, because there are no rules . The pieces are so applicable to anything that you can get a big batch and make a car, a house, a robot or whatever. It s really fun to get a big box of it together and just make stuff! The second great thing about Lego is the way it is re-usable. You make one thing and then you break it up and use it again. I mean, we ve got boxes of lego here that are from OUR childhood twenty years ago, and now our kids have them. The reason is its so strong, durable and re-usable. Lego in General ... is a timeless construction toy that will no doubt out live me and you and the next generation. It s such an appealing toy that appeals to both boys and girls both young and old. Not only does lego come in the traditional block form these days, you can buy windows, doors, postboxes and alsorts to make the play more fun and interesting. I had tones of lego when I was little and would sit for hours making things before packing it all safely back into it s ice cream tub for a later date. My friend who always had better toys than I, had some amazing sets including a mansion that had a car and a workable postbox with letters! It was absolutely amazing! There are so man... Lego in General ... rules! I m a Teacher and I have to say that I m constantly amazed at how popular Lego is with my classes. A few years ago the school bought some large (and very expensive) boxes of assorted Lego for the smaller children to use as part of structured play. As time went on the Lego crept steadily up through the classes and I now use it as part of Golden time which is time (that has to be earnt) when the children can do something that they like independently. The younger classes use the larger Lego pieces and the older ones use the smaller bricks.
