Lego is a timeless construction toy that will no doubt out live me and you and the next generation. It's such an appealing toy that appeals to both boys and girls both young and old. Not only does lego come in the traditional 'block' form these days, you can buy windows, doors, postboxes and alsorts to make the play more fun and interesting.

I had tones of lego when I was little and would sit for hours making things before packing it all safely back into it's ice cream tub for a later date. My friend who always had better toys than I, had some amazing sets including a mansion that had a car and a workable postbox with letters! It was absolutely amazing!

There are so many great things about lego.

Firstly it is so hardy that it will last for years. You can hand it down through generations and it will still look as good as the day you bought it. If you leave the pieces infront of a fire then that's a totally different story.

Secondly, it encourages a bit of imaginative play which I am all for. The child has to use their brain to make something or they are of no use to them.

Thirdly, they provide hours and hours of fun and when you've made something you can start over again and build something else.

There is a couple of bad sides to Lego though and the first is the fact that it really, really hurts if you stand on one or two pieces. The edges are sharp and they dig into your foot so bad that you almost hit the ceiling.

The second thing is that they are quite small so if you have a toddler running around that likes to put things in their mouth then these aren't the best thing to have lying around. I think that's why Duplo was invented.

All in all Lego is an awesome product for all generations and provides hours of imaginative play for children everywhere.
