Whatever your age, anyone can enjoy Lego! I bought this when I was 18 and loved to build it.
The City range can help you create your own mini metropolis, with various buildings, vehicles and houses. With this classic truck, Lego bring you another cool toy to build and add to your collection. This truck was originally released in 2007 at a price of £34.99. However, I bought mine on eBay in 2009 for £17.99 including p&p. If you are ever looking to buy Lego, I thoroughly recommend eBay as you can find some really good bargains on there. I received a medium sized box, with clear and bright pictures on back and front of the truck and I really couldn't wait to start building. Inside the box there are instructions, numbered bags containing Lego pieces and also stickers. As with all Lego, the instruction booklet is really easy but concise with all the illustrated instructions. When I was younger, they didn't have the numbered bags and all the pieces were chucked on the floor in one pile. With the numbered bags and the book telling you what section of instructions relate to which bag, this is a major improvement and means a lot more fun and lot less frustration. There are some fiddly bits, for example when you have to push the tyres over the wheel barrel. So some kids may need help with those elements.
The build took me about 20mins and I was really pleased with how it turned out. In fact, something I didn't realise at the time, but both trailers have a suspension to them. Which means that the green plastic containers tilt back and will hold that angle for as long as you like. I really like this and adds to the realism of owning your own little truck. There are two trailers which connect one behind the other, to make it quite a decent size truck. There is one mini-figure included who you can place behind the wheel and he comes with his own little cup. After all, can't have a trucker without a cup for a cuppa.
The reason I bought it is because Lego is great for boredom and really helped me pass the days of my bad chronic illness. I do struggle with strength but I was able to complete this set quite easily and really pleased with how it turned out. Obviously I'm a little too old to play with it....But I really liked the set so haven't dismantled it since building. In fact it has sat on my desk ever since and I use the trailers as a desk tidy to keep paperwork and other bits in. So Lego really can be adapted to whatever you want.
This set contains 332pieces and is for ages 5-12. Unfortunately it is only available for crazy prices on Amazon. But watch for eBay, as this is a brilliant set for anyone (including adults) to construct.
