No complaints with this lego set!

Ive now discovered that buying toys for just one of my children means I need to consider the need of the other child. Despite my children being different sexes and ages ( 2 year difference between them ), they both seem to want what the other has, which can be awkward at times,so if I can buy them things that they can share and ideally use together, then that can defuse potentially World War 3, 4 and 5! I bought this set for my sons birthday from Amazon for £10.00 ( currently on the site for £11.99 ). Why did I buy it? My son has afew Megabloc sets which both my children have enjoyed using, but I went with this as he has never owned any Lego before and wanted to try it out. Thinking of his sister, I also liked the idea of this set having an ideal age of use being between 18months-5 years which should in theory mean suitable for both. How is it packaged? This set comes in a small green plastic tub,10 inches long, just over 5 inches wide and just over 6 inches in height. The tub comes with a plastic lid to pop on box when not in use. On the front there is the ' Lego ' logo on the top left hand side. Underneath the age range that this product is suitable for which is 18months-5 years, and in the far right hand corner is is has the phrase ' build and rebuild inspiration included '. Theres also a picture/example on the front showing what the pieces may look like it built and put together. On the back it tells you exactly what pieces you get and how many. What do you get? You get 31 pieces of lego, in various shapes and sizes ( none of which are very big ).They vary from the traditional blocks in different sizes, acouple of animals, pieces to make a door, gates etc. What do I think? Firstly, when I received this I expected a slightly bigger set but was actually glad it was this size as my house has no more room to put big pieces of toys in it. Its great it comes in a tub and even when the pieces are in it, theres still lots of room to throw other stuff in their for storage if needed. The tub is small enough to be stored out of sight.Tub is also very durable and easy to wipe and keep clean. Each piece is a good size to handle and play with for both my children. As much as I liked the Megabloc sets we have had in the past, these are smaller, so a lot more concentration and thought needs to be put into using and playing with them, especially for my daughter. So I can already see how good this is in regards to hand and eye co ordination. The pieces are quite colourful and completely unisex, and theres a good mix of different shapes so keeps the kids interested and really helps their imagination when it comes to putting the pieces together. Im so glad there is a small number of pieces in this set, as sometimes too many isn't always a good thing, and having afew means you really you can really focus on what you have, rather than spending most of the time deciding what bricks to use. Having one of my children being under 2, there are no small parts in her that I feel she can eat, swallow, stick in places on her body she shouldn't e.g nose, ears etc, which is obviously a concern, so I feel she can be left within reason playing with this toy solo. Both my children enjoy using this, but surprisingly my daughter has been using this more than her brother. I can see the movements that she is making while putting the pieces together and playing with them are more precise and smaller, so I know this is helping her along in regards to development. Would I buy this again? Yes I would. Its great in encouraging imagination in children, hand and eye co-ordination, helping my children in the quest of sharing and playing together, none of the pieces are too small In regards to safety or use and they are the perfect size for little hands. On a mummy note, both children can use ( so that hits two birds with one stone ), it comes with its own storage container and theres only a small amount of bricks so easy to put away and doesn't create too much mess. I can see this set being used easily for the next few years, go good buy!
