My mum likes to spoil my kids rotten at Christmas time, and they go and get a big pile of presentsd off Santa at her house. One item she bought this year she got for my 5 year old, and my 6 and 8 year old nephews, was a funky lego storage head. All of the boys were delighted to get one of these, and my 3 year old was pulling a sulky face and wondering why Santa hadn't got him one as well. The lego storage head we have is the large male head. You can alos get a smaller male head, a large female head which has a big set of red lips, and long eyelashes. There is also a more expensive head available for £45 from amazon that has a tray inside to help you organise your treasures. The large heads are available on amazon for between £13.50 and £17 plus postage. These lego heads are very nice looking. They are the same bright yellow that the heads on the little model figures are. The top of the head has the prominent protrusion you see on lego pieces, and the bottom has a hollow in it, so you could make a stack of these heads if you wanted to, or you could put them on top of a lego brick storage box. The plastic is quite thin, but it hasn't been weak. It has not cracked or anything, but it does have a little bit of flex to it, and my kids can find it a bit tricky to get the lid on first attempt. Large is not huge, it is large enough though for bedroom storage of small items at 24cm in diameter, and 27cm in height. My initial thought was that this would be a brilliant place to store some of the many little bits of lego my boys have. I got them the lego advent calendar last year, and it had many little figures and bits that were ending up all over the house. The head has not really been that good for this use however as it has a little trough going around the cut out hollow that allows it to be stackable, and all the little pieces fall in here. This makes it tricky to get out just the few bits that you want. My opinion is that these storage boxes are very unusual, and they look great out in a child's room to hide away some of their little treasures, but if I were buying something specifically to store lego in I would buy one of the rectangular lego brick storage boxes instead so you weren't losing bits into the indent all the time. They would also stack better. I am going to give this a 4 out of 5 rating, knocking off a mark for the head being tricky to put on for little children and making it harder for them to use independently, and I also would rather the inside of the head was completely flat without this indent running round it. This would make it much more useful to us.
My son is a real Lego buff so at Christmas when shopping for his gifts I spotted the large Lego storage head and had to purchase it. The Lego storage head stood out and looks very funky. You can purchase the Lego head on websites such as Amazon Uk and Firebox. Lego head comes in a choice of three sizes, small, large and extra large. I opted for the large size and cost me £24.00. I got my son the boy Lego head but for girls you can get the female version, only difference being it having red lips still cute. The Lego head comes in a cardboard box decorated with Lego bricks but has a small viewing window on it, the back shows a picture of the head and some ideas on what to do or use it with. Lego storage head is made from hard plastic, it is yellow in colour and resembles a Lego minifigures head. For the face it has a basic black lines for eyebrows, eyes and a smile. The Storage head comes complete with a lid. I was amazed with the quality of the lego head strong and sturdy. On the underside of the Lego head is a large round hole, the idea being you can build up the large Lego heads and are compatible with the large Lego storage bricks so you could collect them all and build up a rather cool looking storage unit. The lid has the Lego logo and raised up like a stud so you can build on top of it. This part also is the handle so you can pull the lid off. Large Lego Storage head measures roughly 16 inches tall and 12 inches wide. The logo head would hold loads of lego bricks. My son is using his for storing bits and bobs in keeping his room tidier. At Christmas I had filled the head with his favourite sweets in he loved it. It is easy to keep clean , I have had to rinse the Lego head out already as my son spilled a cup of cola over him, I just rinsed him with warm water and dried it out. My son loves his Lego head and hopes to collect some of the large bricks now. As well as young Lego fans liking the Lego head I think teenagers would find it cool too. Lego head is not a toy , just a storage container but a cool one at that. Price is expensive but worth it. I highly recommend the large Lego storage head.
