“ Brand: Lego / Type: Keyring „
Yoda is one of the coolest and most popular characters in the Star Wars Universe. Despite his small stature and frail appearance he can really stand up for himself as we saw in the newer prequels and is a Jedi master of great wisdom.
These movies were one of first if not the first to take advantage of merchandising and it has been possible ever since to buy literally anything you want pertaining to a favourite character or with the Star Wars logo on. In recent years two very powerful forces have joined up to create an irresistible combination, that being Star Wars and Lego. Although the quality is out of this world and the range and playability is amazing, Lego especially for some of the larger sets can be expensive. With this in mind if you are looking for a really good gift for someone the key chains or key rings featuring different characters are ideal and Yoda is one of them.
He is about an inch tall wearing his little light brown tunic with his unmistakable green skin, bulging eyes and quite large pointed ears that stick out. On the rear of his head he has a large tuft of white hair; he certainly is a very unique looking chap.
The age rating for these is 6+ which I couldn't work out why because unlike your normal Lego figures which come apart these seem like all the pieces such as the head and the legs are stuck to the body. On further investigation though I realised that the little tiny hands could be removed and then replaced so for a small child this could be a choking hazard and this is why the age recommendation is as such.
For any Lego or Star Wars fan this is a lovely item and is very affordable starting at £2.99 depending on where you choose to buy it. If you attached this to your keys it would be a really good talking point that people would notice and identify with you for liking these awesome films.
We all know and love him, his is a little old legend hero who continues to be held dear by generation after generation. He epitimises friendship, bravery, leadership, true grit determination all in a little old green skin! As a real Star Wars fan I couldnt wait to whisk the family off to Legoland in the school hols and quickly tracked down most of the Star Wars cast in key ring form. For me there was no contest, I had to get Yoda to adorn my adult key ring.
For the £3.99 I paid at the Leogland store you get a really good strong key ring loop and chain which goes into the back of Yoda head (without detracting from the look) on a sturdy smaller ring. I gave it a good tug and there was no signs of movement of weakness from the chain or connection. To the figure, you get a lovely little 3cm lego version of Yoda in his cream and brown Jedi clothing. His green head is made of the rubberised material and moves 360 degrees. The rest of the body is made of the normal rigid lego plastic with poseable arms and the normal Lego C-shaped hands. His legs are in a static position and do not separate from the body, which in my opinion, is good as it negates the possibility of it falling in two should you catch it etc.
You can get some of the other Lego Land key ring characters slightly cheaper on Amazon etc but beware P&P charges.
This is an absolutely wonderful little gift for any avid Star Wars fan, young or old, and looks cool on book bags through to your house keys. I would recommend it time and again.
==Lego Yoda Key Chain==
Jack has such a massive collection of Lego Star Wars items ranging from the smaller sets which cost under £10 to the much larger sets like the Battle of Endor which cost around £90. the only trouble with all the sets that we have had is that they are missing a few vital characters from the films and Yoda especially who is one of Jacks real favourites.
So I thought I would look to see how much it would cost me to buy a single Lego Yoda figure as the sets that he comes with are far too pricey for us and not the sort of thing that we would buy for Jack if it wasn't a birthday or Christmas and I was so amazed that the little figure alone would cost me anywhere from £10 to £15. seeing as we had thought about getting him the key chain as the end of week reward for getting a certain amount of stars on his chart this priced still seemed way too expensive and even used ones weren't as good.
So with this in mind I came across the Yoda Key Chain on Amazon for an okay price of a little under £6 which included the posting and packaging price. This seemed like a much better option than the £10 to £15 one, but still a little over what we would pay for an end of week reward. However I ordered it and it arrived within a couple of days.
The item is just like the little Yoda Lego figure you would expect to get and is fitting with the rest of the characters from Star Wars. As in the films Yoda is slightly smaller than the rest of the characters but probably not as much as he should be however for playability I don't think you would want an item smaller than it is.
Yodas green head on the key chain is made of a rubbery type of hard wearing material and this is where the key chain is fixed in securely. We have decided to take off the key chain and use the figure with the rest of Jacks toys and this was easily done however there is still a small metal part that remains in his head but that doesn't seem to bother Jack and really causes no problems with the playing side of things.
Yodas legs don't come away from his body like other little Lego figures but you can remove his hands with a bit of a tug if you so wish but they are not liable to fall off at all as they do need a bit of a tug to get them out. The legs don't move either which is a bit of shame but considering he is a small figure this is to be expected and the other small figures we have such as the Ewoks have the same fixed legs too.
The age recommendation for this key chain is for ages 6 and over but Jack being only just 4 he has no problem with paying with it and is quite sensible and wouldn't think about putting Yoda in places that he shouldn't go!
As it stands the little figure is a really good one. He is as hard wearing as any other Lego figure and the price was really good. The only real down side of buying this key chain rather than the proper little figure is that he doesn't come with the lightsaber that he should do but Jack didn't seem to mid this either as we already had a few spare even if they weren't the right colour.
All in all I feel that this is a nice product for the money and I think nothing but a top score of 5 out of 5 stars is in order and a very high recommendation. Jack has had tons of play already from it and I am sure there will be a lot more.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
