Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm Hibiscus
by Autarkis
Burt's Bees has to be one of my all time favourite brands when it comes to skin care. It is a brand I always return to, and I have trialled many of their excellent natural products. The fact that their products are produced using natural ingredients that are cruelty free appeals to me. Their products have always delivered good results, ... and have proved to be excellent value for money. Plus they always smell great, too.
When it comes to skin care I like to have all bases covered to ensure my skin is kept soft, supple and in good condition. I much prefer a natural look for the day time, so I like to know I have good skin moisturisers to give me a gentle glow. I always wear a lip balm each an everyday, as I like to have soft lips with a bit of sheen. Burt's Bees quite possibly produce the finest lip balms as far as I'm concerned. No other lip balm feels and looks as good on my lips, and I've tried a fair few.
I have used many of the Burt's Bees lip balms. When I noticed the tinted lip balms on offer in their range, I couldn't resist. I do like to keep my lips looking subtle, yet pretty for the day, and this provides the perfect combination - a hint of colour with moisturising properties. The lip balm is contained within a small box that is the same shape as the lip balm, with a protective film for hygiene. Inside the box is a regular lip balm tube that is brown in colour with limited information on the tube. The only important information that is needed and displayed is the fact that it is 100% natural.
I purchased this lip balm from a large Debenhams store for a reasonable £5.99. There were two options available to choose from, and I plumped for Hibiscus. Many other on-line retailers stock many other varieties for around the same price. I was eager to try it out and wasted no time. Lifting the lid you are met with a gorgeous rich Hibiscus balm that smells divine with its soft floral scent.
The tinted lip balm is said to moisturise and condition lips whilst giving a bit of colour. It is enriched with Shea butter and botanical waxes, so I know it is going to be excellent as far as moisturising is concerned. The balm is easy to apply to the lips and glides easily and effortlessly giving even coverage. It is denser that their other lip balms and it doesn't have that minty tingly feeling that I have come to expect from their lip products, rather it has a soft feeling. My lips feel conditioned and moisturised and the colour is pretty, yet subtle, perfect for giving a natural look for the summer and autumn months.
The lip balm looks and feels wonderful upon the lips. One coat on the lips lasts incredibly well, and even once it wears away it leaves my lips feeling soft and silky. It certainly cares for my lips which is just what I want from a lip balm, whilst it gives me a subtle hint of colour - perfect. Don't expect it to tint the lips, it just adds a soft, subtle colour that is ideal for a natural look that is easy to achieve. This lip balm is a winner with me, and would make a lovely gift. Burt's Bees Nourishing Mango Butter Lip Balm Tube
by Simba1805
Having used many of Burt's Bees products before, I had high expectations of this lip balm, and it did not let me down. It is quite expensive, at about £3 for a tube, but it is of much higher quality than its competitors, so in my opinion it is definitely worth the money.
It is incredibly moisturising, and feels lovely on your ... lips. It also lasts longer than other lip balms before you need to reapply it, which means that the tube lasts longer, and works really well as a base coat before putting on lipstick. My favourite thing about it is that it doesn't leave your lips feeling sticky after application - there is nothing worse than putting on lip balm and then your hair all sticking to your lips!
Mango is my favourite fruit, and so when I found Burt's Bees made a mango lip balm, I felt almost obliged to try it out. My only criticism of this lip balm is that the scent is not that strong, and in my opinion doesn't smell much like mango, which is a slight disappointment. However, this lip balm still helps get my lips through the winter without getting dry and chapped, so is definately still an investment worth making in my opinion. Read the complete review |

Tesco Lipbalm Original
by thriftygiftyisme
=Tesco Lipbalm Original=
Over the cold period I was wondering round Tesco and I just could not concentrate on my shopping as I had forgot to put lip balm on, not from a vain point of view, but I hadn't long returned from Lapland, and with temperatures dropping to minus 35 the lips needed some extra care.
=Health and ... Beauty=
I just headed to the health and beauty aisle and just picked up a Tesco balm so I could pay then put some on my lips and restart the shopping.
=Packaging=
This is a standard lip balm tube and it green in colour wrapped, and is 4grams. The balm comes attached to a card which has the ingredients, care information, Tesco details, but as I wanted a lip balm, I never looked at this information.
=Taste=
This will teach me to look first, as once I opened the balm it was a menthol and mint taste, menthol reminds me of Vic's and mint, I can eat mints but the smell, I just can't stand, it may sound silly but from when i was pregnant back in 2002, anything mint based just caused me to be sick, and the feeling has stuck.
=Relief=
I will have to say as I find the relief when I applied the relief and the softness to my lips was out of this world, I would have done cart-wheels at this point.
=Applying=
As you don't lick the balm off, the recommendations are to reapply every 6 hours.
=Gave it to my daughter=
I could not get over the mint, so I gave the lip balm to my daughter to keep in her school bag, and she loved it, she said it was really soft on her lips, it did not dry out, that one appliciation lasted her all school day, she would just top up to come home with.
=Cost=
I paid £1 for the lip balm, which was good value for money, it certainly lasted my daughter about 6 to 8 weeks and she was using it on a daily basis.
=Would I recommend=
I would recommend the lip balm as it is not Tesco's fault that I have a mint phobia, but it did the trick of relieving a pair of dry lips, and kept my daughters moisturised well. Read the complete review |
