Algologie Lip Balm I have always got dry lips, summer, winter you name it I have it, so lip balms and treatments are an absolute must for me. There are a lot of lip balms/treatments out there that say they work but really they don't do anything, in fact they make my lips drier and just sit there. I can't seem to stop myself when I see a new lip balm that claims to do everything that I want it to. I do find though when I have found one that I like and that works for me I am loyal and re-purchase, even though another one may catch my eye.... I find when someone has spent a lot of time on their outfit, makeup and applying lip products but their lips are dry and damaged you can tell a mile off and it ruins what they have done so a good lip balm/treatment is essential. Without this no amount of lipstick or gloss will make it look any better. When I was purchasing other Algologie products, who pride themselves as using great ingredients from the deep sea used for their healing properties, and using the plants that grow init I decided to purchase their lip balm. They say their lip balm is exceptional rich that nourishes and plumps the lips giving moisture throughout the day. Highly concentrated and conditions and soothing on the most damaged lips. Algologie are a salon brand who are based in France. They supply salons and spas across the world and pride themselves with great quality products. You can only purchase this product either from a salon who stocks Algologie or via www.jica.com When I saw it on Jica's website it is priced at £12.67 for a 15ml jar. At this I thought gosh that a little steep for a lip balm but me being me I bought it. When I purchased it, it arrived very quickly and I couldn't wait to try it. The container it comes in looks expensive and worth the money all ready. Inside the jar the product is jam packed to the rim making it even more worth the money but the truth is in the pudding. Unlike other lip balms that are of a soft/sticky consistency this one isn't like that, when you put your finger in to get product out you wont get a lot as this product acts more like a wax but when applied to the lips it glides on but doesn't feel like a wax. I find it is easier to slide across the product with your finger nail to get some out. It is cream in colour and smells like vanilla. Once it is on the lips there is no stickiness. Some will come off while drinking and eating but just apply a small amount and you're good to go again. You will find because of the moisturising properties in this you won't need to re-apply every second of the day. It really is good at moisturising the lips and keeping them supple throughout the day. It gives the lips a nice sheen and looks like clear gloss. It's not like other balms that sit on the lips and do nothing this one sinks in and actually does something. Algologie say this lip balm plumps the lips and I have to say to a degree they are right, my lips felt and looked more plump, which is great as I don't have Jordan lips. The one tip that I love to do is use this product as a lip treatment last thing at night, I apply a thick layer on my lips before I sleep and I wake in the morning with beautiful soft lips that last all day, I even find I don't need to apply it in the day unless I am wearing a lip gloss that is drying and we all know a lot are. Another good tip is to apply it just out of the lip line as well; this helps with fine lines around the mouth and helps to hydrate them. I have done this in the past with other lip balms and woke in the morning with little spots around my mouth and this is due to the product not sinking in, I haven't had that problem with this. Because this product is more of a wax and you need very little and this product will last you a lot longer than the 12M expiry. It is a product I will have no hesitate re-purchasing in the future.
