Definitely worth trying, stops your lips getting sore and repairs them if they are already sore.

All year round my lips always get dry and sore, I guess mainly caused by the constant weather changes and wind, which led me to using Vaseline every day to try and help protect them. At the time I didn't have a problem doing this and found it an okay solution, but since using Blistex Mediplus I would not go back to using just Vaseline.

Using Blistex, I only needed to apply it each night to keep my lips hydrated for the entire day after, whereas when I used to use Vaseline I would have to apply it several times per day for the same results. Another thing I like about Blistex is that it doesn't give you a greasy feel, nor does it leave your lips overly shiny which is especially good since I am a guy and I don't want it to look like I'm wearing lip gloss etc.

When I first bought it I was a bit disappointed with the quantity you get (7 grams) considering it was around £3 when I bought it, yet I have been pleasantly surprised with how long it has lasted. You don't need to use much each time as it spreads quite easily, and not needing to apply it too often; Applying it around once per day for me it has lasted a few months and still has quite a bit left in it. As well as lasting a long time, because of its tiny size it is easy to carry around with you should you need it when you're out (slightly smaller than most other lip balm products I have seen).

(A bit of advice for you as well, when you do have dry lips, whether using this product or not, it is best not to lick your lips; not only will licking your lips remove some of the cream/gel, it also makes your lips more sore as the saliva evaporates.)

(Please note, I have also published this review on Ciao under the same username).

Great for helping to repair sore, cracked lips. Thumbs up from me.

I bought the lip balm because at the time my lips were sore and dry. I normally just use Vaseline or some other basic balm but I felt I needed something more effective as my lips weren't getting any better.

From reading the packaging at the time, I remember Blistex Medplus seemed to have healing ingredients and was just what I needed. So I thought it was worth a shot.

Having just checked the description of this product is contains Menthol and Camphor for cooling, Carrot Oil because it contains antioxidants, and Cocoa Seed Butter and Lanolin to help restore moisture.

I have used this on and off for a few months and have just started using it again today because I have a very fine cut on my lip. Within seconds of putting it on, my lip feels less sore and irritated. To be fair is doesn't feel sore at all - this is not the sort of feeling I get when I apply Vaseline.

You get an initial tingling effect from the Menthol and Camphor which I quite like - it makes it feel like it is working. I also have the feeling of plumper lips, again I suspect this is the Menthol and Camphor.

My lips feel moisturised and have a slight sheen to them, as you would except from a lip balm. The moisturising effect lasts even after the balm as come off - I don't feel desperate to apply more as soon as it has come off, unlike with some other lip balms. The feeling on your lips is nice - not sticky or greasy.

Moving onto the healing effects. If you need something to heal dry, cracked, or sore lips then this works. I tried it out of desperation because my usual lip balms were not working and this, simply put, works. My lips started to heal and were back to normal within a few days.

The best bit is that while your lips are going through the healing process they feel so much better right from the first use. It can be really annoying when your lips are sore, it hurts more when you eat and talk - two things most of do a lot of! And every time it hurts you are reminded of your sore lips, with this you really do forget about them.

I really recommend this product as it has worked so well for me. When I run out I will be buying more, although when that will be I'm not sure - it might come in a small tub but I have plenty left. 5 out of 5 from me.

        Blostex for lips

During the winter time my lips suffer terribly. Going from the cold outdoors into a warm house makes my lips really quite dry and they get really sore and cracked and so when I smile the corners of my lips really crack and I also get cracking at the front when I rub my lips on my teeth. Its sore and painful but with Blistex I can solve that problem. I normally use the little tubs of Vaseline for my everyday lip moisture as I really need to keep my lips well hydrated but when I need to apply something a bit stronger I always reach for this little tub of cream.

It is described as lip repair and restoration with a dream team of jojoba oil, cocoa butter and menthol to deeply condition, soothe and protect. I love the way this cream feels when you first put it on. The menthol gives you a bit of a tingle which is nice and you also get a nice cooling feeling. This feels particularly good on dry lips to cool them down and start to feel like the cream is working. The cooling feeling comes from not only the menthol but also camphor which apparently has cooling properties. Anyway, its a interesting feeling but a really nice one as well and quite addictive as when I have dry lips I apply this so many times during the day to get that nice feeling to my lips.

Other ingredients in this include carrot oil which has an abundance of antioxidents, which protect human cells from harmful free-radical attack. There is also cocoa seed butter which always works really well on my skin. I normally like it in body creams as I think it adds a lot of moisture to my skin but I really like it in this lip product too. However, I think for me the dream ingredient is the lanolin as this is really what makes my lips extremely soft and seems to bind the skin back together and make it nice and supple.

The cream comes in a little tub so its easy to apply. I simply apply with my index finger and you can also use this to rub it into your lips a little bit to start the cream soaking into my lips. The instructions are to apply as often as needed and when I have my dry lips I do do this all throughout the day. After a couple of days though my lips do feel much better and look better too so I stop using this until I need it again.

A 7g tub costs £2.59 and is one I definitely recommend.
