Advantages: Its cheap

Disadvantages: No staying power

I get sore and dry lips, especially during the winter months, as does my husband who picked up this lipsalve for himself a while ago and somehow it has landed in my handbag.

The product packaging is very simple, it consists of a blue pull off lid, which then reveals a clear lipsalve, which is secured to a white base that can be turned to allow the lipsalve to be used, so far after a few months of using I have not broken the stick and the whole thing is holding up pretty well. It cost 99p from Boots before christma, for a 5g tube. The tube of the lipsalve states that it is SPF 15 and that is aims to hydrate and protect your lips from the sun.

The product also somes in strawberry, pink tinted and spearmint.

The lipsalve is nothing special, it glides onto your lips well enough, has no real scent to speak of and does a fair job of hydrating my lips. However, the lipsalve has no staying power, I find that it leaves a bit of a greasy layer on my lips that comes off as soon as I eat or drink and will last all of about 10 minutes otherwise.
Overall I would not recommend this product to others, its cheap, and I suppose if you do not mind applying it every 10 minutes it might suit you as it does hydrate your lips a bit, but there are much better products out there in my opinion.

Summary: Limited hydration, no staying power
