Boots Essentials Strawberry Lip Salve
Advantages: GOOD VALUE
Disadvantages: NO SPF
I have recently tried out the Boots Essentials Strawberry flavoured lip salve and this is my review.
I recently bought the Boots Strawberry lip salve as I had a cold and this had made my skin and lips dry up and I wanted to moisturise my lips. I had tried out some of the other Boots Essentials lip salves before and thought they were quite good so I thought I would buy the strawberry flavoured one for a change.
The Boots Essentials Lip Salve comes in a range of flavours like an Original flavour and a Spearmint flavour. I have now tried out three of the flavours of these lip salves and have liked them all.
The Boots Essentials strawberry flavour lip salve was a very good price and it only cost me 99 pence. I think this is good value cos a lip balm or lip salve like this one will last me for a couple of months.
The packaging is quite nice looking and the lip salve is in a plastic twist up tube the same as most lipsticks. You can take off the outer tube which is a nice red colour and underneath is the tube that you can twist. The lip salve is a stick that comes up from the tube and you can smooth it over your lips from the end of the tube.
The taste of the Boots strawberry lip salve is quite nice and I do not think it is to sweet or over powering which is good for me cos I think some lip salves can be to sweet and this makes them smell and taste sickly when you are wearing it.
The lip salve helped to moisturise my lips when I had the cold recently and they were very dry and a bit cracked. It only took a day or two of using the Boots lip salve to help out the condition of my lips and I thought this was good. I used the lip salve about three or four times a day and it really helped the dryness of my lips. I also used the lip salve before I went to bed each night and in the morning my lips felt nice and soft to.
The only bad thing I would say about the Boots lip salve is that it does not have any sun protection in it and I would prefer it if it did and then I could wear it on a hot day when I am next over in Spain. A lot of lip balms and lip salves I buy nowadays do have sun protection or SPF in them and I would prefer it if the Boots Essentials lip salves had this in them to.
The Boots Essentials lip salve does not feel to thick when I am wearing it on my lips which is good for me as I do not like this feeling. I thought the Boots lip salve was quite light feeling and I have even worn it over a lipstick to give it a shine. A lot of lip salves I have used before would be to thick to put on over lipstick but I think the Boots Essentials ones are a bit lighter.
When going out into cold weather I always try and remember to put on my lip salve as it really helps my lips to stay soft. I suffer from sore cracked lips a lot of the time and I think this is cos I go out into the bitter cold weather and then come home to the central heating. When I use a lip salve daily though it really helps keep my lips soft and stops them from getting to dry or cracked.
I would suggest giving the Boots Essentials Strawberry flavour lip salve a try out and I will buy it again. I thought it was a good quality product and a good value price and I thought that it made a difference to the condition and dryness of my lips.
Summary: A GOOD LIP SALVE
