Disadvantages: ciomparitively pricey, some might not like the tingle
Burt's bees are a company that specialise in natural skincare. Burt is a man who kept bees and sold honey, and the company grew from there.
This lip balm is 100% natural, and something I like about Burt's Bees is that all of the products from them that I've seen have clearly stated what percentage this is, whether it's 95, 96 etc. A lot of companies would withold this informatuon unless it was 100%.
I got this in the Head to Toe gift set (reviews of the other products to come), which cost me £9.99 in Waitrose, it's usually £14.99. The lip balm itself is usually around the £4 mark, and can be bought from Boots, Debenhams and on the Burt's Bees website, amongst other places. This may seem steep compared to chapstick, vaseline etc. but bear with me!
This is packaged like your average balm. I have the one in the stick but you can also get it in a small tin. The stick itself is made of a mustard yellow coloured plastic, with a sticker around the main packaging and a pull off lid. The sticker is a lighter yellow in colour with the pattern of a beehive in a darker yellow. It states that the product is "cooling", has the brand name, that it's a beeswax lip balm and then some images that state it's recyclable, not tested on animals, and will last 12months from opening to when it needs to be chucked. The product itself is 4.25g in weight.
I personally love this balm. It has a thicker texture than most balms like this on the market, and just adds a small layer to your lips to stop them from drying out. It doesn't feel greasy or anything like that which is what I really like about it, and personally I find the cooling sensation nice, but can undertsand how some might not. I like balms that tingle because they feel like they're working better, even if it's just menthol making them feel like that!
I've been using this for a week now and my lips are a lot softer than they were before that, they've been getting very dry lately due to a) the weather changing every 5 mintes and b)my skin being contantly dehydrated from partying too much...oops! When I apply this it seems to fill in the fine lines in my lips and therefore makes them look more plump without being glossy. This is a unisex product as far as I'm concerned.
Summary: I really like this, the texture is more substantial than most on the market and it makes my lips fee
