I bought this late last year from Debenhams and still have it - it's barely touched as I don't really like it to be honest, although I do occasionaly use it, purely because I don't want to throw it away seeing as it was around the £5 mark which looking back was a total rip off.
The lipgloss comes in a 7 gram tin which is very average looking really. It's made of lightweight but sturdy glass and has a yellow pull off lid which has the product name and a picture of a large, life like strawberry. My lipgloss came in a small cube shaped box which looked almost identical to the lid of the lipgloss tin and it had the product name and a brief product description/ingredients etc. The box was cardboard so I just stuck it in the recycling bin as it wasn't nice enough to keep.
The lipgloss is extremely hard and is definetly a balm and not a gloss as I was lead to believe. With most hard lipglosses/balms they melt after a while of rubbing my finger along the surface however this one doesn't, and in the end on my first time using it I resorted to digging my finger right in. The consistency is very firm and waxy and it takes ages to melt even when I was rubbing it inbetween my fingertips.
Once it had actually melted enough to put onto my lips, I smoothly glided it along and was pleasently suprised at how natural and subtle it looked (colour wise it is a sheer pinky red), however as soon as I smacked my lips together to get even coverage, it dissapeared, leaving a sticky, colourless residue. On a plus side my lips felt a little moisturised and it did leave a very faint tint of shine to my lips (once the waxy residue had been wiped away), but obviously the colour didn't stay.
The only slight plus side was the smell, although even that isn't great as it smells overlly sweet to the point where you can smell how artificial it is - not nice, although not too unpleasant. The smell is definetly strawberry with undertones of something else which i'm unsure of. The lipgloss doesn't taste like strawberry at all - it tastes like splenda mixed with wax, it's not nice!
Overall I am really dissapointed with this product. I am a Burt's Bee's fan, but this product lets the brand down.
Over the years I have tried out many different skin care products and I must confess to never being loyal to any particular brand. However several months ago I came across Burt's Bees; they offer a range of personal care products that are made from all natural ingredients, which I am always in favour of.
Since the birth of my son, I have been more careful as to what products I use on my skin, as babies don't care for strong scents, and I don't want any creams or lip gloss that I may be wearing rubbing off onto him to irritate his skin.
Initially I ordered some hand care products from their range which I was delighted with, so on my next order I decided to look at what other products they had on offer. I noticed the Strawberry lip gloss, I do like a good lip gloss or balm as I very rarely wear makeup but like to look my best and keep my skin in good condition and my lips soft and supple.
I like to keep my lips moisturized as the elements can leave them sore and cracked especially during the colder months. So I try to use a good lip balm or gloss on a regular basis to keep my lips soft. I have found with a lot of the lip balms that are in the form of a stick never last that long and never feel nice to apply. So I decided to try the lip gloss from their range and at the time it was considerably cheaper than the RRP of£4.49, I only paid £2.50 so I bagged myself a bargain!
The lip gloss is in a nice size glass jar providing 7g of gloss with a metal screw lid, it comes packaged in a little box which has all the information such as the ingredients. Although the jar is simple in design it still looks very pretty and will slip into a pocket or handbag, it will also look nice on a dressing table.
On opening the jar there is a very subtle sweet smell of strawberries, but you do have to hold it under your nose as it is a very delicate scent. The balm is solid; a sweep of my finger over the top gives me enough to apply to my lips. It glides over my lips effortlessly giving them a nice sheen. It feels sticky on my finger but once applied it feels smooth and my lips feel silky. It feels a lot nicer than other glosses that I have used, it doesn't feel heavy or sticky at all. It will give you kissable lips and there is not much of a taste to the gloss at all. It lasts on the lips for a considerable amount of time and once it has worn off my lips are left feeling soft and moisturised. It is only a small jar which holds 25oz (7gm)however only a small amount is needed so I have not used much from the jar at all; so I can see it is going to last me for quite a long time. With this in mind it represents excellent value for money even at full price.
The lip gloss contains all natural ingredients, primarily being made up of nourishing grape seed oil which is a rich moisturiser, coconut and vitamin E oils which help to soothe and heal.
This has to be my favourite lip gloss to date and I will be using it for some time to come. I will definitely be trying other verities from the Burt' Bees range.
This lip gloss is also available in raspberry, cherry, or lemon - lime; Burt's Bees also do a range of other products to make your lips look gorgeous from balms, glosses or lip shimmers.
I highly recommend this product.

I have only ordered Burt's Bees products from Amazon but I have noticed that Debenhams offer a good range of their products however they are more expensive than buying them on-line.
~Ingredients for those Interested~
Grape seed oil, coconut oil, beeswax, lanolin, cocoa butter, natural strawberry flavor, tocopheryl acetate & tocopherol (Vitamin E), rosemary extract.
I like burts bees products as they try and use natural ingrediants (no parabens) so I was very pleased to receive this cute little box in my stocking at Christmas!
The packaging is unusual as not only does it come in a box (which environmentally is unnecessary) but then the lip gloss is in a tiny glass jar rather than the traditiional lip wands. The product itself is very nice, the scent of strawberry is subtle and not overpowering and leaves my lips very soft with a very very slight shine to them.
The problem I have with this lip GLOSS is that I can not understand why they have called it a gloss rather than a balm. The shine is so slight I really do think it could be mis sold. Also I had nail extensions recently and using products like this with your finger tips (getting them in the jar without getting it all under your nails) is a real no no, so stear clear if you have long nails.
Overall if I had not had nail extensions and I wanted a lip balm not gloss this is a good product that I would buy myself and friends.
My Granny bought me this las year for my birthday and it is still a firm favourite in my make-up bag and hand bag and even sometimes car!
It is a strawberry scented lip gloss (but I think it is more of a lip balm) and it comes in a little thick glass jar about 1 inch tall and it has a screw on metal lid. It also came in a box which fit it perfectly but to be honest I've lost the box. On the lid there is a big picture of a yummy lookng strawberry and the Burt's Bees label and "strawberry lip gloss" in the classic burts bees font.
The actual lip gloss is bees wax based and it is white and thick and creamy looking. You don't actually get much, it says 0.25oz on the lid but I don't really know how much that is sorry. It is enough though I have to say, I have been using this for a while and you can hardly tell any has gone. The scent is the major thing that I notice about this lip gloss, it smells divine and is so strong of strawberry and sweetness. The smell also sticks around on your lips for quite a while.
I think that this product does give your lips a really nice shine and keeps them moisturised and soft which is great. The only thing is that because the pot is really small it can be hard to get much out of the pot. It is also a bit of a greasy lip gloss and it doesnt realy look that pro.
I think it is better for a lip balm to put on just out and abou but I wouldn't use it as a lip gloss for anything more than casual.
It is not sticky though so it is good because it means your hair doesn't stick to it. (My least favourite part of lip gloss!) I think that you can buy it from boots and online and it costs a few pounds which is not bad really. I really like all of the naural credentials of the burts bees brand and think this lip gloss represents the brand well. I do like it and the scent is really good so I would look out for another flavour!
