Advantages: Long lasting, good price, beautifully soothes your lips
Disadvantages: The smell and taste are not as good as others.
Carmex lip balm comes in two different varieties; original (the one I am reviewing) and cherry, which are available in two different containers, a tub/pot with contains 7.5g or a tube, containing slightly more 10g. I have always opted for the tub as I find it lasts longer, as it comes in more of a solid form, while in the tube the lip balm is slightly softer so it can be squeezed out.
Carmex lip balm is a yellow colour that smells predominately like honeycomb and menthol. It is a fairly pleasant smell, but there are much better smelling lips balms on the market. It contains ingredients such as methol, camphor and beeswax. As with all lip balms you apply however much is necessary as often as you want, but I have found not much is needed to completely heal sore, dry lips. When the lip balm is applied, if your lips are fairly dry you will instantly fell a tingling sensation, which lets you know the lip balm is working. 3 to 5 minutes after application you lips feel hydrated, smooth and healed. I know lip balms are not designed to be eaten, but I also think the taste is fairly important as it is easily to accidentally lick it. It doesn't really taste of much, and so it is neither tasty nor unpleasant.
I absolutely love this lip balm, and have not found any other lip balm that comes up to the same standard. It really does hydrate and heal your lips leaving them freshened and smooth. The tingling feel really does let you the lip balm is working and the results last for hours. The lip balm does not need to be used just to heal dry lips, I use it because I love the smooth, soothing feeling it leaves my lips. It can be used to obvious heal dried, chapped lips but also as a lipstick undercoat or a sealant.
The lip balm costs about £2 and is worth every penny. It is long lasting, and is the best lip balm I can find. I highly recommend it to everyone of all ages.
Summary: A fantastic product that heals dried lips perfectly
