I am a marathon runner and therefore I spend an awful lot of time outdoors. 3-hour runs on freezing snowy mornings, speedwork in howling gales, runs through hail storms, in rain, sleet and sometimes even in glorious sunshine. Plus a good few more miles with a fan blowing air in my face on the treadmill. My lips take a beating!
I have tried any number of chap sticks and lip treatments in an attempt to save some money, but I always end up going back to Clinque's All About Lips. Once again, it is a case of 'you get what you pay for'.
A 12ml bottle costs £18 from their website and beauty counters, but, as with most Clinique products, it lasts for ages. I first tried it as a teenager when my mum bought some. I liked it then, but it was only as I got older that I found I needed a daily lip treatment. Back then youth was on my side.
The bottle has a pump application so you get just the right amount. It is a lightweight thin white cream, almost liquid in fact.
Following application the skin feels immediately softer and smooth, and it even helps protect my lips from the elements. There is also no greasy layer left on the lips, unlike with chap sticks or Vaseline. And finally, like all Clinique products, it is allergy tested and fragrance free. I give it my highest recommendation.

I'm going to start by telling you i love, love, love this product, enough to say that 12 pounds for 12 mls is absolutely fine. It comes in a small green bottle with a white lid, and a white pump. The product has been allergy tested and is 100% fragrance free. It is a white cream and you only need a tiny amount, applied to lips. It's light, non-greasy, and not sticky.
The product soaks into lips easily, unlike balms such as vaseline that tend to sit ontop of your lips for sometime. It is also tasteless and immediately makes your lips feel soft. It does not plump or tint, however has a mild exfoliant action which after a few days means that that weird lip flaking stops.
It also has an anti aging property, apparently meant to stop fine lines from appearing.
I tend to use this product at night before bed, with another in the daytime, due to the cost and the necessity to use it only when necessary. But it also has another benefit, it acts as a brilliant primer before using lipstick, preventing it from bleeding.
This is a staple, holy grail product, you must buy it!
A couple of months ago at the Clinique beauty counter at my local department store there was an offer on a bundle of Clinique products with a fre beauty case. I couldn't resist such an attractive case and was so excited to try the products inside that I snapped it up. It cost me around £40 but it was well worth it for such quality products. One of the products in this bundle was a tester sized tub of the Clinique product, all about the lips. As soon as tried it and decided how great it was I looked it up on the net and discovered for a full sized tube (which is still quite small!!) 12ml, it costs around £13-£23. Which to me is a huge price when I can buy a tub of vaseline for £1!!
The product comes in a pale green tube with a pump dispenser lid. You press the lid down and get out a white cream. You only need a tiny tiny bit (and you really don't want to waste any) the product goes a long way, so dont even press the lid down fully! The cream is not scented. It is cold and quite thin and rubs into your lips very easily. It doesn't sit on top like a greasy layer, it immediately soaks in and feels quite soothing. If you lick your lips you don't seem to remove the product or get a horrible taste in your mouth.
The product does not tint your lips or change the colour, nor does it plump them. The product makes your lips soft, reduces lines and dry scaly skin and rehydrates your lips. To me it acts like vasline, but without giving me a greasy chin, like can happen with vaseline. 'It's all about the lips' feels like it makes your lips naturally, and beautifully soft and fresh and fights againts the effects of aging.
The product is also a great primer before using lipstick. It reduces the effect of lipstick clinging onto your dry skin, or seeping into deeper coloured areas, as if you apply this before hand it makes your lips look more moist once the lipstick is applied. It also makes the lipstick stay on longer as it bonds more easily to the skin.
This is a fantastic product and if price was no issue I would buy this again and again and again!!
This is actually the first ever Clinique facial product I've bought. I suffer from dry and wind burnt skin and lips in winter. It truly is a bad problem I wished for years that I could solve. Well, since I discovered Clinique, my problems haven't been quite so bad anymore. Some days you'll still have the odd unavoidable dry patch, however, most of the time my skin is silky smooth and soft thanks to Clinique and Boots No7.
I went into boots and saw the new Clinique lipsticks on offer. I think they were promoting colour surge butter shine lipstick. I was curious so decided to have the make up consultant do a demo on me. She tried out this pretty berry shade and it looked very nice. There was only one problem; my lips were very dry and chapped. She showed me all about lips and put some on. I liked how it didn't feel sticky, heavy or anything like a lip balm or cream for chapped lips. It also sorted out my dry lips and I just had to have one! This product is fragrance free so it doesn't taste odd or anything either.
I use this product every night before bedtime. As it applies smoothly and absorbs into my lips effortlessly, I don't have to worry about my hair sticking to my mouth when I'm sleeping. This is also ideal to apply before putting on make up and won't show up underneath lipstick. All this will do is leave your lips moisturised and smooth for hours.
