This wouldnt have been a purchase I would have made if I was looking for solely a lip product. Its not something that never enticed me.As much as I have loved and enjoyed using Decleor products in the past, my lips are not an area of concern, but obviously keeping them hydrated and looking heathly is essential but I have used products that are nice, pleasant, works well on the lips and no where near the price of this product. So why do I have it then?It came in a kit. Its not in the above packaging, same product but 10ml in size in a lipgloss style tube apllicator.
Ive recently done a review on another of their products so wont go in depth about who they are, but they are a prestige skin and body care company that are French born. They combine natural plant based ingredients with top cutting edge technology, to bring award winning products that are available through many department stores such as Selfridges, also online in various beauty based websites and the much loved QVC.
What is this product?
Its basically a product designed to hydrate and moisturise the lip area. Its supposed to protect, restore and treat the delicate area on and around the lips. It contains 100% pure essential oils that will keep lips supple.
How is it packaged?
As mentioned before, mine doesnt come in a small glass jar as the picture shows at the top.Mine comes in a 10ml sized tube, pale oyster colouring to it with a screw top cap that covers a plastic lipstick shaped applicator. Very simple and plain.Decleor logo on front, how to use on the back.Easily slips into pocket, make up or hand bag.
Rice Oil, Hazelnut Plant Oil, Macademia Plant Oil, Spent Barley, Vanilla And Petitgrain Essential Oil, Tonka Bean, Lemon Essential Oil, Cinnamon Essential Oil
How to use
Place on lips if and when needed.
What do i think of this product?
Its nice, easy to use and I much prefer it to be in this packaging than in a jar as I feel its more hygenic and easier to spread on the lips. The product itself is concentrated so you only need alittle and it melts into the lips. It does leave the lips with a sense of greasiness so no way dries them out. But to be frank, alot of products would do exactly the same job at a fraction of the price. Its not claiming to plump up lips, get rid of lines or anything like that. Its a glorified lip balm.So at a cost of £13.50 for the tube version, I dont feel the cost justifies what it is.
Would I buy this again?
Not on its own. Ive used Philosphy lip glosses in the past that taste, smell and feel amazing on the lips, and though they were lipglosses not lip balms they did the same job and were at least half the price. So you could easily spend half the amount this costs and get a high end version from another brand that does the same thing. Saying that, its a nice product but not worth the price tag!
Being a lip balm fanatic, this was one I had to try. It is on the pricey side in comparison to Carmex, Vaseline, Body Shop Lip Butter, etc, however, I found the aforementioned brands a bit, well, lacking in one area or another. I had to give Decleor a try.
The tub is slightly on the larger side; almost twice the size of a Carmex tub and the same diameter as Vaseline but about two and a half times taller. However, it is still an okay size for the handbag.
Once opened, the smell has a faint cinnamin aroma to it but not an overly strong one so is pleasant enough to be applied to the lips.
The texture is a bit thicker than usual so only a little needs to be applied for it to be effective. However, I found it to be more of a nuisance than moisturising. It didn't absorb well and I found myself wiping it off after an hour or so of application due to being annoyed with it staying put on my lips, but not doing anything. My lips still felt chapped after and I might as well not have applied anything at all.
Needless to say, for the price and it's lacklustre performance, I will not be buying this again, unless they change the recipe.
I have been using Decleor products for around 5 years after being introduced to them during a facial treatment while I was pregnant with my first child.
They are natural products that use essential oils as the base of all their treatments.
Decleor specialises in facial treatments but also they do a range of tanning products, self-tanning products, body treatments, hand and nails treatments as well as shower and bath gels.
They are what could be described as a mid-range product in price and performance.
****Aromessence Lip Balm***
100% natural product that is a complete, ultra-concentrated lip treatment with natural active ingredients. It soothes, repairs and nourishes the lips, whilst protecting them from external factors (cold, wind, sun). With its delicious flavours, it provides an instant sensation of comfort, heals chapped lips and helps prevent dehydration. Even the most damaged lips become soft, supple and perfectly smooth.
It is £17 for 10ml and this will probably last around 6 months using once or twice a day.
****How to use***
Before using this product it is recommended that you warm the pot or tube in your hand for otimal restitution of the balm. Otherwise, it will come out like thick wax. You only need a rice grain amount rubbed over the lips.
As with all Decleor products, light and fresh.
Softens, smooths, protects and heals lips. I had this as part of a bonus pack when buying other products and I mainly use it at night before bedtime. Its a nice lipbalm that does what it says but for me I would not buy this product as it is FAR too expensive for what it is, especially when vaseline can do the same job for around £2 for the same amount. If it cost around £7-10 I would consider it.
