“ Brand: Jason Natural / Type: Lip Balm „
I love a good lip balm and seem to always have one to hand whether it be in my bedside table or in my handbag. My latest weapon of choice that I have been enjoying using is the Lips Bee Healthier lip balm from JASON.
*A Bit about JASON*
JASON is a company that specialise in making health care products that have no artificial colours or animal by-products in. Even the packaging is biodegradable and made from recycled containers. I like that fact that they use natural and organic ingredients in their products as well as focusing on creating products that you will enjoy using.
*A Bit about 'Lips Bee Healthier'*
This lip balm is 70% organic and is scented with aloe and bees wax. It is designed to moisturise and protect your lips. It comes in tube form which allows you to apply straight from the tube. I much prefer this sort of application over vaseline as it feels more hygienic.
*Using the Lip Balm*
I always like to smell lip balms before I use it and this one is most surprising. Considering it is meant to smell like aloe I cannot detect this at all. I am not complaining because what I can smell is mint. It is almost exactly the same scent as after eight mints, which I love!
The balm applied very easily onto your lips and feel quite rich. It almost melts onto your lips instantly. It feels extremely moisturising. Unlike some cheaper lip balms that you can buy where you seem to have to apply a ton before your can actually feel a difference this one just needs a couple of swipes over your lips in order for them to feel hydrated.
This lip balm tends to sit on your lips rather than fully sinking in which I personally like as i find that my lips feel moisturised for longer but I know some people do not like the feeling of product sitting on their skin.
I have found that this is really effective at keeping dry lips at bay, as soon as I feel my lips are a little bit dry I whip this out and it soon sorts it out.
You can buy this for around £4
I really like this lip balm. It is slightly more expensive than other lip balms that I have purchased in the past but I do think it is very effective. I would buy it again at full price but perhaps I would like to see it slightly cheaper. I am giving this one 4 stars.
After reading reviews online about this lip balm I became very interested about it and wanted to try some, so I ordered myself a two lip balms a couple of months ago. I ordered them a couple of months ago when the whether was a little bit worse, and like every year I was suffering with chapped lips.
I became interested in this product because of who it is made by, Jason which is a brand from America, California which strives to make its products healthier by using natural ingredients. This lip barm is 70% organic and has some really great ingredients in it, nothing chemically and all natural, exactly why I wanted to buy it. This is just a average looking lip balm and looks like any other, the balm itself is a whitey, yellowish colour which once placed on to your lips becomes transparent.
I picked this lip balm up from Amazon, there was three different lip balms available all at different prices ranging from £3 to £6, I went with two of the cheaper ones and paid £3 for two 0.16oz, 4.5g sized lip balms. I found that I did not have to use it as much as I usually would and I put this down to it doing a wonderful job, so these two lip balms lasted me much longer than they usually would.
Another thing I liked about using this lip balm was that when I instinctively lipped my lips after using this balm I had piece of mind knowing that the ingredients were natural and I wasn't putting anything unwanted into my body. This product come recommended as ideal for outdoor sports and travel, it is a anti-oxidant rich balm which will sooth, heal and protect your chapped and sore lips, protecting your lips against the elements.

I would recommend this lip balm to anybody needing it, it is a brilliant healthy lip balm which tastes great and feels good, the smell of it is nice and this balm lasts along time so I would certainly say that this is well worth buying.
I's just like to start by saying I'm an avid Carmex user, and have been for the last 10 years. I've never managed to find anything that comes close, and okay it doesn't taste amazing, but it really, really does the trick!
This Jason Lip balm turned up in a recent Glossy Box of mine. I've never heard of the Jason brand before. First impressions of the packaging wasn't very good. It looked a bit cheap and nasty, not something you'd see on a high end beauty counter.
I do love a natural beauty product. But I have to say I wasn't overly impressed. I found it a bit, well, chalky. And if there's anything a lip balm shouldn't be it's chalky. I expected a waxy texture at the very least. It tasted a bit like feet. It wasn't at all what I want from a lip balm. It didn't heal the chaps and didn't moisturise.
I'm really dissapointed with this product. As I said previously, I'm all for a bit of natural product but when it doesn't do the job, it doesn't do the job. I wouldn't buy the product, and will stick with my Carmex.
As previously mentioned in my Sanctuary Spa face mask review, in January 2013 I took the plunge and took out a GlossyBox subscription to take advantage of great expensive beauty bits and bobs in tester sizes before I buy the full size product. They have described the January box as a detox edition likely due to us all feeling the yukiness after the Christmas period. I was happy to see they included a lip balm from a company I havent previously heard of called Jason so had no idea what to expect other than likely I would really like it due to all the hyped up reviews of the boxes in general.
Jason has actually been around since 1959 which is shocking when I havent even heard of the company before. Upon researching the company online you find they originate and produce all their products in California and strive to create many items in the health category from natural ingredients which is reflected in the lip balm I am reviewing today. Upon first glance to me looks quite offputting when the background of the label represents a beehive pattern and the product information states this is made from beewax with a hint of aloe vera - maybe a little too natural for me as when I think of beewax I think of honey which I absolutely cannot stand! Matching online information found on the company the label on the balm advises you this is 70% organic. Sure enough when looking over the ingredients there is nothing chemical looking there at all. The contents included above are all great well known ingredients which all promote repair and moisturisation - everything a great lip balm needs. The contents in this are:
Cocoa seed butter, beewax, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter, aloe vera gel, natural vitamin e, green tea leaf extract, marigold flower extract, peppermint leaf oil
Like many other lip balms the plastic container is exactly the same as the others in the sense it is made out of hard plastic, has a pop off top and a twisty screw located at the top to pop up the balm from the container. When you twist the product to the top it has a slight yellow / off white colour and dispenses as transparent on to your lips. In terms of scent, I was teriffied I would hate this as I imagined it to have a digusting bee wax flavour to it but I am very glad I was wrong. On first sniff of the product its very minty and the closest smell it resembles is like After Eight mint chocolate - which I love! On dispensing on to your chapped lips, the aloe vera content gives your lips a nice light tingle and the wax texture smoothes and hydrates the cracks. I like the fact that this is packed full of healthy ingredients as you know you are not doing yourself any harm when licking your lips / licking off this product! On average I am applying this every 2-3 hours for a smooth lip boost and still have plenty of product left in this 0.16oz 4.5g tube so it has the potencial to last a long time.
Working in a call centre where the air conditioning is always blasting, this really takes it out of me, in particular my dry skin and lips. Many other lip balms I have tried just aren't moisturing enough to deal with my cracked lips with the exception of vasaline and this is the only pop up one I have found that works long term. It really does help provide short term in the sense that it provides quick relief to sore lips but I have found over the weeks its helping the skin on my lips return to normal.
In all this is a great product and its a real shame its not sold in more shops and its really a hidden gem. Online on Jason's official website its priced at £1.99 and I would really recommend this to everyone who suffers from cracked dry lips!
Being a bit of a beauty product addict, I always like to try out new things and vary the brands that I use. One of my most exciting discoveries has been finding online companies that provide beauty boxes. The idea is that you will be sent a box every month, and this will usually contain a selection of various make-up, skin care, fragrance products etc for you to try out, so I have been trying a few from different suppliers. I received a full size version of this Jason Lips Bee Healthier Lip Balm in a previous delivery from "Joliebox". You can find further information at www.joliebox.co.uk, and www.jasonnaturalcare.co.uk.
Lip balm is a daily essential for me, and I always have several on the go, one for handbag, one for home, and one for work. My lips are constantly suffering from dryness and can get chapped and sore when the weather is too cold or too hot - I can't win! This lip balm is made by natural skincare brand Jason, who I have never heard of before. It costs £1.99 for a 4.5g tube and there is currently a special offer on their online store where you can get one for free with your order.
Product description: "Prevent Parched lips with this rich, natural combination of moisture-trapping Beeswax, Vitamin E, and Green Tea Extract. Organic Aloe Vera Gel helps heal, soothe and protect chapped lips while Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil moisturize. Leaves lips tingly and soft with peppermint Oil. Benefits: Non-Greasy, Water Resistant & Long-Lasting UVA/UVB Protection."
The lip balm itself comes in a small plastic tube and has a pull-off cap lid. You apply the lip balm by turning a section at the bottom of the tube to move the product out of the top. The twist tube is my favoured method of packaging for lip balms, as this means I can apply neatly straight from the tube onto my lips, without having to get it on my fingers and have a sticky residue left behind, or end up with it caught underneath my fingernails. It's easy to pop the little tube into a purse or handbag and I take this everywhere with me for when I need to reapply it.
Recommended directions for use: Apply to lips to replenish moisture, Reapply as needed.
The lip balm itself has a nice firm consistency and feels quite solid at first. I thought that this might make it difficult to apply, but as soon as I spread it over my lips the balm warms from my body temperature and rubs on easily. There are a number of natural oils included in the balm which help to care for damaged skin and make it feel soft and smooth, including coconut and sweet almond oil, as well as cocoa butter, beeswax and shea butter which all help to keep those moisture levels boosted and give that nice texture to the balm. 70% of the ingredients are certified organic so I find this reassuring in terms of knowing that it will be a good quality natural product.
This is described as an aloe and beeswax lip balm, but the most noticeable ingredient is the peppermint oil, even though this is the smallest part of the ingredients used. It instantly creates a tingly feeling when applied, which will stimulate circulation and draws blood to the area, and if strong enough will cause the lips to appear fuller and more plumped up. I was not expecting it to feel quite so strong, but it only lasts for a short while. I have used this to maintain the condition of my lips, and it is excellent for keeping moisture levels regulated and stops my lips from drying out. I think that the tingly effect of the peppermint oil would be a big disadvantage to anyone suffering from chapped skin, or for those with sensitivities, as it would be quite sore to get this in any broken skin. This lip balm is definitely best suited to protecting and moisturising lips rather than repairing problem skin.
I find that this lip balm is really long lasting and I don't have to reapply it constantly to keep my lips feeling moist. It gives a subtle looking sheen which is quite natural and looks nice on its own, although I do also like to wear this under my lipstick to give an extra moisture boost. The product details say that it gives UVA & UVB protection but I couldn't find anything listed about an SPF number so I'm not sure that I'd really trust this to provide proper sun protection, and would make sure to use something with an SPF in the summer.
I can recommend this Jason Lips Bee Healthier Lip Balm, as it really is effective at moisturising my lips and keeping my skin nourished and cared for. After using this regularly I have noticed that my lips are not chapped at all, even during the cold winter months. I think it's excellent value for money considering that certified organic ingredients are used in production, and would happily buy it again. The only warning is that I would really not recommend this if you have delicate, sensitive skin, or if you have already got chapped skin that needs a repairing lip balm as this is likely to sting and be quite painful!
