I am a big fan of vanilla scents and tastes and have also had prior experience with Lip smacker products so when I saw this Vanilla lip smacker positioned on the till in Claire's accessories I just had to add it to my haul of jewellery and hair accessories. My lip balm came in a small white tube with a white reseal able lid. It has gold trimming on the edges and says 'Vanilla lip smacker' in a purple print. I do really like the packaging as it is simple yet still very girly and eye catching. To use the lip balm you simply turn the bottom of the tube until some lip balm is pushed to the top. The vanilla smell is very prominent and sweet which is great as like I mentioned I absolutely love the smell of vanilla. Once it is applied to the lips it goes on quite transparent with a subtle sheen and she smell is still very strong. It leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised. The lip balm even tastes faintly like vanilla when you lick it off- which its hard not to lick it when it smells so good! I've found that lip smackers can also be used over lipsticks to add a slight gloss to it without it rubbing your coloured lip stick off. There are many lip smacker products to choose from. From the original collection the flavours are: strawberry, watermelon, pink lemonade, red raspberry, cotton candy, bubble gum, strawberry banana and vanilla. A new product in the line of lip smacker products is the liquid lip smacker which I am dieing to try and they too come in a range of flavours. I paid £1 for this product as I think it was on promotion in Claire's accessories. £1 for a lip smacker product is such good value and I am so tempted to buy all of the different flavours!
No matter how many times I buy lip smacker products, they never get old. They are quite a play ground memory too as it used to be the only 'makeup' we were allowed to wear at 7 years old! Having a lip smackers lip balm was the coolest thing ever! If you are unfamiliar to the brand, all products are in a small typical lip balm tube which is brightly coloured and sometimes shiny. There are so many flavours, styles, colours and patterns of balm to choose from - even including Dr Pepper & Pepsi which is quite original. I have to say they do actually taste like the fizzy drink too! There really is something for everyone.. some are even male friendly. The main question you might be asking is 'does it actually help chapped/dry lips?'.. I have to say I think it does. My lips get terrible in winter but because of my constant use of lip smacker, they always seem to go back to normal pretty quickly - a handbag must have. I personally favour the bubble gum lip balm due to the colour and taste. I can't stand it when lip balm tastes funny - it just puts me off wearing it! As you can see from the image it is a bright pink colour with multi coloured writing saying 'Lip Smacker'. There is a pull off lip which is quite firm so it doesn't get lost in your bag very easily and the bottom twists to bring more balm to the surface once you have used some. The balm doesn't dry out quickly and a simple splash of water moistens it back up again in no time. I love how vintage this product is too as it has been around since 1973 making it older than I am! I think the colours and tastes have to be their best asset though as it is what draws you in instantly. The smell is also to die for as it is very sweet and exactly like old school bubble gum (obviously now it is all minty). I do enjoy the fact it soaks in slowly as I feel like it means it works better. Lip Smacker lip balms can be brought from almost any chemist, supermarket and drug store. They are priced differently depending on where you go but overall about £2 for an individual balm. This is reasonable as they do last quite a long time. I would recommend these highly due to all the points above. Perfect for giving lips a bit of lovin' and doesn't break the bank!
I love lip smackers, and own 3. These are really cute lip balms and come in a variety of flavours, styles and packaging. There are also sparkly lip smackers available. Some of the flavours available are fruity, and some resemble soda such as dr pepper and pepsi etc. Overall the choice is huge so there is something for everyone. This review is of the Bubble gum lip smacker, and i chose to review this flavour rather than my others as it is the Dooyoo catelouge picture. The tube is a baby pink colour (although a darker pink then it appears in dooyoo's picture) and is small - around 4 inches long and it is quite chunky in design but not overlly so, it is easy to grip and it has a pull-off top. The bottom twists to expose the lipbalm more or less which helps in keeping the lipbalm fresh/not drying out. On the side of the tube it says 'Bubble gum lipsmacker', with 'lipsmacker' in bubble writing with each letter a different colour. The packaging of the lipbalm overall is very girly, and would best suit a young teenager. I see it as quite a vintage product as it's been around since 1973 so it is is easily recogniseable so hopefully when applying it in public/at uni no one thinks i'm a bit childish with my lip balm choices! The smell is very bubblegum ish and quite sweet but not over the top. It leaves my lips with a discreet shine, with a layer of the gloss making them moist and generally feeling better. The taste isn't great and doesn't last long and it just tastes like splenda really. Absortion time isn't great, and the greasy/sticky layer usually takes upto 20 minutes to completely absborb. It does make chapped and dry lips feel better, and keeps my lips soft so these do act well on the lip balm side of things, but the childish packaging is a bit of a put off (in my opinion), so now i'm nearly 20 i won't be purchasing them as often as i usually do. These are available in most supermarkets, chemists, makeup shops and online. I buy mine from my local poundland in packs of 3, which after looking online seems a bargain as a few eBay sellers are currently selling them individually for £2.95 with high postage costs. Would i reccomend these? Yes, they moisturise, look and smell pretty good, but in my eyes the packaging is a let down - they're best suited to younger people, maybe 10-18 year olds. Ofcourse this won't bother some people, and this is just my personal opinion. The soda pop lip smackers are much more versatile with the design of the packaging though so i'd reccomend checking those out.
as I am a lip balm addict some may say ('you only have 3 with you today!') I am always trying out some new ones. after being disappointed with the Claire's own brand, I tried lip smackers as I remembered my friends saying they were amazing. (when I was 10) price the candyfloss one I have tried was £2 red raspberry is £1.50 for some reason the soda/skittles ones are £2.50 or come in multipacks mine lasts a good 4ish months but I use it like crazy and use others as well, not just this one where? at Claire's accessories so far this is the only place I have found that stocks them packaging the old cardboard pack so no-one can stick their fingers in it. The tube is visible through the clear plastic bit. It tells you the ingredients which I won't mention (because I chucked away the cardboard) and how it is moisturising, delicious flavour and gives a nice shine the actual tube for the lipbalm well mine is pink with cute 'lipsmackers' written on the side. It has a small cap with can be hard to take off and a small screw up bit at the bottom which can also be hard to turn using it well I didn't expect much to be honest. I put it on and it felt so smooth and smelt lovely! It took a couple of minutes to sink into my lips and they were left nice and hydrated. I forgot about it until I got home and realised my lips were still smooth and soft. At this point I licked my lips, mmmmmmm it tastes good! but i'm not the lick your lipbalm off types. I use it in the winter and it is still the most moisturising! verdict a gorgeous, cute, smelly lipbalm that moisturises my lips like nothing else can. It's cheap and I will continue to buy it and recommend it to everyone. even if it is a kids lip balm I'm going to keep on buying it!
Make hydrating your lips fun and flavourful!
