“ Brand: Lip Smacker / Type: Lip Treatment „
I bought this from Amazon, it was a total impulse buy! I thought it looked fun and I had an Amazon gift card so I just went for it. It cost me about £6.40 with free delivery and it only took a couple of days to come. I have always found Amazon to be efficent and reliable. Lipsmackers products are available online on websites like Amazon and they're also sold in Claires Accessories. After looking around on the internet I found out that these have quite a following. They're marketed towards young people but they're also very popular with adults because of their fun flavours and novelty factor. This set contains a regular lip balm, a liquid roll on and a clear lipgloss. These are all Sprite flavoured! The packaging is a card backing with the Sprite logo and some information printed on it with clear moulded plastic on top to keep the products in place. This set is also available in Coca-Cola, Strawberry Fanta and Orange Fanta flavour. When this arrived at my house, I opened up the packaging to try out my new lip balms... First, I tried the regular lip balm. This is just like a chapstick, it comes in a plastic tube with a twistable base which pushes the lipbalm up. This comes in a green coloured tube with a shiny label stuck all around it with the Sprite logo on. The balm is white coloured and it smells sweet and like citrus, just like Sprite. It glides onto the lips smoothly, it's a bit of a slippery texture when it is on your lips. It actually does taste like Sprite when you lick your lips. It has a sweet taste with lemon and lime. It definitely makes my lips feel soft and smooth while it is on but this isn't exactly a professional moisturising product. I would say the results are the same as a Chapstick, soft and smooth while it's on but doesn't actually treat your lips or really hydrate them. Nevertheless, it's a fun little product and it gives you smooth, soft and shiny lips. Also, there is the novelty factor of this tasting like Sprite and the packaging having the Sprite logo and colours. Next, I tried the lipgloss. This comes in a clear plastic tube with a green lid. Inside the lid is a sponge applicator attached to the lid, just like any regular lipgloss. The tube has the Sprite logo on the side and the lipgloss itself is clear. The scent is just the same as the lipbalm really, sweet and citrus and smells like Sprite. The texture is thick and it's quite gloopy to apply... I don't really like having this on my lips as it is so sticky. It does give a nice shine to the lips but it isn't exactly what I'd call a good quality lipgloss. It would definitely be nice for a young girl though who isn't used to proper makeup brands of lipgloss and who would appreciate the novelty of this product. Lastly, I tried the roll on lipbalm. This comes in a plastic, clear tube with a clear lid and a rollerball applicator. Like with the other two products in this set, this has the Sprite logo stuck to the side of the tube. The liquid inside is clear and runny. To apply it, you just move it around your lips and the rollerball rotates and releases the product onto your lips. It's lightweight and watery, it isn't waxy like the lipbalm or sticky like the lipgloss. It has that same Sprite smell and taste as the other two products. This gives a nice shine to the lips and makes them feel a bit smoother but I don't find that is moisturizes them or anything like that. It's a nice little lip product just for adding shine though, it's very simple and doesn't have any great effects. I would recommend this to someone who is a huge Sprite fan or to a young girl for a fun product which isn't proper makeup. I don't really know why I bought this! I'm not completely sure about the price, it's more expensive than other Lipsmackers products and I think that's because of the Sprite branding. They also sell a huge range of flavours which aren't linked to other brands for a cheaper price.
If you suffer from dry cracked lips and like to drink Coke Cola's Sprite lemon and lime drink, then you're going to love this lip balm. It comes in a 4g green plastic tube which bares the same Sprite logo as the bottles themselves. The tube has a lipstick typre action, that is to say you turn the bottom and the lip balm rises out of the tube so that you're not rubbing the edges of the plastic onto your lips. The lip balm is white in colour with a slightly greasy texture but has the same citrus taste, lemon and lime, as the drink. The taste hangs around for at least ten minutes if you can bare not to lick your lips. The balm moisturies your lips very well and gives them a bit of a shine, just as if you'd applied a clear lip gloss. The tube is like all lip balms a convenient size for popping in a handbag or make bag. Lip Smacker Sprite Lip Balm is a great way to moisten dry lips whatever the occasion.
