Advantages: Leaves lips smooth, hydrates, smell/taste
Disadvantages: A bit expensive but it's worth it!
I have had this lip balm for around a month and love it. I bought it directly from my local Lush and paid £5.25 for the 10 gram tin. I know that it pretty expensive for a lip balm but as any fellow Lush lover will know, Lush are consistent in great quality with every product.
The lip balm comes in a cute little pocket sized tin. It is not the same as the packaging in Dooyoo's picture - the tin is silver in colour and made out of some kind of thin, lightweight metal - i'd guess aluminium. It has a little black sticker on the front which has the Lush logo on it and the product name (Lush Lip Service). Overall the packaging is basic but very cute and practical as it is small enough to put into my pocket/purse etc. The lid on the tin pulls off, it's easy to do so and once open the lip balm is exposed. It is full to the brim so you definetly get plenty of product for the price which justifies the price tag!
The lip balm is hard and waxy in consistency. I think the reason for this is likely because of the Bees Wax it contains which makes it set firmer. This isn't really a problem, to apply it to my lips I just swirl my finger along the top until there is another product on the tip of my finger and I then rub it evenly onto my lips. Once on my lip it isn't waxy and it absorbs really nicely. This is probably the most moisturising lip balm that I have come across in Lush's range of lip products, I think due to the mix of oils and butters. As I said before it does absorb fast and leaves my lips soft for quite a while - it does not need frequent top ups so it lasts really well.
I think personally that this is much more moisturising then any of my lip balms and even vaseline. The smell and taste make it even better and it smells just like tangerine and shea butter with a very slight hint of lemon, it is not a very strong smell compared to the other Lush lip balms - it is much more discreet but it is noticeable for a while after application but it is not overpowering - very subtle. It tastes pleasent, I cant put my finger on the excact taste but it's definetly very sweet and a bit fruity.
The lip balm is matte and once absorbed into the lips acts nicely as a lipstick base to avoid the liptick highlighting cracks in the lips. You have to wait until it has completely absorbed though or the lipstick will slide right off it. I love kissing my boyfriend while wearing this because he loves the taste, I have joked with him that he should try it because of the unisex packaging but he says it's too sweet for a man but I disagree - any men reading this should go out and buy a few tins - your girlfriend/wife won't be able to resist kissing you!
Overall this soothes and moisturises dry, cracked lips, and leaves them noticeably softer, hydrated and generally looking and feeling better. It lasts well, smells and tastes good, and I would reccomend it.
