Bring this one back Lush. Make it Retro. Please!

Wow! I bought this lip balm a lifetime ago!

I remember this lip balm as "the one that smelt of apple pie and all things sweet", it was available to buy years ago in Lush stores and via the Lush website. I paid £3.95 for my tin. The tin was sometimes difficult to get in to though!

The lip balm was presented in a small round 10g metal tin and I remember the logo to be red. I also remember what the balm looked like. It was a cream colour with black flecks in it (I think they were seeds of some sort). It smelt lovely, really sweet and delectable, almost good enough to eat! The balm was quite creamy. It had a nice consistency that was easy to scoop up and apply to the lips. It left my lips feeling soft and moisturised and it also protected them from bad weather and air conditioning. It worked a treat and I couldn't stop smelling it. It really did smell that good! I really do miss this balm!

My lips felt a lot better with this balm on them. Usually my lips are chapped as I chew them, bad I know! However, this balm protected them. It left them with a protective layer and it stopped me from biting them aswell. It did take me a while to get used to the creamy consistency but this balm became my number one lip balm. I was so disappointed when they discontinued it! It was also long lasting. I remember my tin lasting me for months. It wasn't bad value for money to say it was natural and paraben free (and cruelty free too!) and the tin could also be recycled.

A lovely lip balm. Bring this one back Lush!

      Disadvantages

Buy it and use it regularly!

Lip Squeak is the balm I use to give my lips a little bit of a scrub.

I find it really useful if you're feeling a bit rough or queasy - the smell and taste on your lips sort of snaps you back to reality and makes you feel a bit less rubbish.

I wouldn't say it tastes of apple pie - I can taste the lemon balm,I think.
It's a taste that really makes you wrinkle your nose at first but can easily and quickly become addictive and comforting.

The smell is quite sharp but,as with the taste,it grows on you quickly.

It comes in a little tin like all Lush balms and,as usual, you have to be careful not to let the lid get stuck or you'll never get it open again.

It's a creamy white with little browny sort of bits in it (the poppy seeds,I assume?) which exfoliate your lips and make them look a bit bee-stung and full.

I would reccomend this to anybody - not over other Lush balms, but in conjunction with them as they're all so good I wouldn't suggest missing out on one in favour of another!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A nice scented lip balm

Lip Squeak is one of five lip balms from Lush. It is the second on I have tried (the first being Eggnog, a christmas special). At the time of purchase I had really sore dry lips. I choose Lip Squeak because it's aim was to make sore, hard lips soft and moist. Plus it smelt like apple pie so that also persuaded me to buy it! I am in love with apple pie!

Lip Squeak is sold in a little silver recycled metal tub like all other balms and cream samples from Lush. I find the tubs quite difficult to open at times but I have a handy technique. Pop the tin between both palms and twist your hands in opposite directions to one and other. Once opened I find the balm quite hard to scoop out and apply to the lips. It always works better when it has being warmed up (in pockets for example).

The pale beige balm with little balck poppy seeds is nicely scented but doesn't really taste like apple pie. I think it is slighty cinamon like. I applied the balm for about a week without finding it made my lips any softer or less chapped. But once my lips werea ccustomed to it, it worked well but I have to apply it regularly throughout the day for it to work well.

The only problem I find with the balm itself is that it is rather greasy. You only need a tiny amount before your lips feel really greasy. My other problem is that at around £4.40 the balm is rather expensive as it is only a 10g tin. But it does last for ages and has a 12-14 month use by date.

I do like Lip Squeak but I would try the other balms from Lush before I bought it again.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Mostly great quality but not perfect value

This is the first of Lush's lip balms that I have tried. I bought it online when I ordered some products I use regularly, even though I already had enough lip balms to last me the next two years. I wanted to get the order up to enough to receive the free gift and I was seduced into getting this by the mention of apple pie flavour.

I love apple pie. I love the smell of apple pie. I am pleased to say that this smells exactly like apple pie. I wouldn't say it actually tastes of apple pie, I think it tastes of nothing but I try not to lick my lips anyway, it would be pointless to put it on and lick it off.

The tin is a bit on the small side for the price but the smell is so nice I forgive that. The lid twists off and the balm itself is a pale beigey colour with little blackish dots which I presume are bits of poppy seed. It is very hard and works best when left in your pocket to warm up but you can rub a finger over it to warm it up just enough to scoop some out to put on lips.

I find that this balm is great when I have really dry lips - when I do it's the first thing I used but the skin around my lips doesn't like it and when I put some around my lips as well because all that skin was dry it stung slightly - I presume because of the lemon balm and oil.

I'm not sure if I will buy this again and I have time to think about it, this tin should last me years, I bought it in August and there is only a small dent in it but then I do use it on rotation with several other lip balms. It is pretty expensive - £4.40 - but it does have that gorgeous apple pie scent.
