Lip balm is a must in a cosmetic bag. No lip stick or lip gloss can replace though I must admit that some of those make good alternatives. However, I like to apply a lip balm every night before I go to bed so that in the morning my lips are soft and moisturised. Oriflame Beauty Lip Spa Therapy had a fairly intriguing name that sounded very serious and professional (probably just a marketing trick to get people to buy as I got caught!) so I decided to order it.
The lip balm has a very lip stick-like appearance: it comes in a long (around 13 cm) but thin round container. The container is pearly white and is labelled on the bottom part - the lid is plain. I like this minimalistic design and the size is perfect for any of my bags.
When I opened it, I saw a pale pink lip balm with a white round bit in the middle. I immediately fell in love with its scent: very subtle, delicate and feminine (sorry lads). It is barely noticeable but it is still there. I got used to it quite quickly.
The lip balm itself is quite hard yet creamy which means I will not easily smash it but it is still a pleasure to use. It is extremely easy to apply - you just turn the bottom part of it around and it comes out.
As I have mentioned before, I usually apply lip balm before going to bed. I must say that it definitely works: moisturises and hydrates lips; when I wake up they are soft and nourished. However, I noticed that when I stopped using any lip products for a couple of days and my lips got quite dry; this one couldn't really cope with amending their condition. So it worked for keeping the good condition of my lips but not for curing dry lips.
Although I don't expect any shine from a lip balm (after all, that's why I have so many lip glosses in my make up bag!) this one gives my lips a very slight one. Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long - I didn't really notice when I used the whole one!
Its big advantage is that it contains SPF 8 but unfortunately, that's not enough to convince me to buy it again, especially that 1.6g normally costs £6.75.
