Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm
Advantages: design, smell, soft lips, hydrating, warming
Disadvantages: not the best lip balm
I have been using Palmers products for years now, having discovered them in my early teens. I absolutely love the smell and consistency of their moisturisers and always find myself with a tube or two in reserve.
I do buy lip balms every now and then, liking to distribute them across my belongings. I generally have one or two in my handbag, some in my make up box, a couple in my bedside table and some in my box of toiletries. I find it handy to have them hanging around as you never know when you might need one. I also have a range of brands and a real price range represented in the ones I own. I like to experiment by trying different ones and though I have my firm favourites I am always willing to try something new.
This lip balm comes in a fairly standard little twist tube (much like a chapstick). This tube is white and has the Palmers branded label around the body of the tube. This is quite a small little lip balm at only 4g but this makes it perfect for your handbag.
The balm itself has the same lovely cocoa smell you get from the moisturisers. This is a really rich and creamy smell with a chocolatey hint. It isn't overly sweet which is nice too. As soon as I apply it I can hardly resist licking my lips it smells that good! The actual balm is quite thick in consistency as it is moulded into a stick. When applied though it is pretty lightweight and soft, it goes easily onto your lips and leaves them feeling hydrated and smooth. I find it works well on chapped lips and helps to alleviate any dryness. It also feels very warming because of the smell making it a nice balm for winter.
The balm costs roughly £1.80 which isn't bad for a salve of this size from a well known brand. I wouldn't say it is the best lip product I've ever used, certainly there are others I prefer. But this is still a nice little lip balm which is handed for carrying around in your bag.
Overall, I would recommend this as a nice balm with a great smell.
Summary: A nice lip balm with a smell I can't resist.
