“ Brand: Rimmel / Gloss / Type: Lip Gloss „
When it comes to lipsglosses and the likes I am really not very keen on them at all. I prefer lipstick and in-particular Max Factor Lipfinity which stays put for hours and hours so I don't have to keep reapplying it!
This though I bought recently in my local Poundland store costing of course just a pound. Oddly enough no colour is stated on it however the one I have is a peachy shade with a shimmery peachy and translucent tube of lip gloss to the other end of it.
What you get is a double ended long tube with a piece of silver tubing to the middle of it then to one end it the lip colour and like I have just stated the other is a gloss. On the part that is the colour we are told what it is and who it is by in silver writing, that it should stay put 10 hours, we are told clearly how to use them and the size is stated which is 2 x 4ml. The tube is really nice looking and robust.
The colour lipstick is rather thin and smells to me of cocoa and has a slightly sweet and pleasant taste to it. You are meant to apply the colour and let it dry then apply the gloss over that or you can use the colour on its own or apply the gloss over the top.....its really up to you.
When the lip colour sets it does feel a little sticky and tacky though, though it does coat the lips evenly even though the colour when applied it is rather thin and it dries to matte finish. The gloss smells and tastes the same as the actual lip colour and is quite thick in consistency . It adds a nice looking gloss effect though the shimmer seen in the seen in the tube doesn't really come through and its certainly not sparkly or glittery.
I really don't like the feel of this on the lips though the overall finish is actually rather nice! My lips feel heavy and too sticky, especially with the gloss applied as well. The gloss wears off when lips touch things quite quickly however the actual colour sorts of sinks into the lips and I find that even with smoking, eating and drinking that it does stay put on my lips about 4 hours but deffo not the 10 hours as the promised.
I like the colour, the ease of applying it and the fragrance and flavour and I actually think that this moisturises the lips rather well but for me the weight and the stickiness of it are no no's for me!
Google if interested and do look discount stores as I do for it!
I do love make up and I don't feel quite right unless I have got some make up on every day. One product that I don't always use is a lip stick or lip gloss as I feel I usually have enough make up on without adding extra to my lips as a rule. However, sometimes for a change and most definitely when I go out for a night I like to have some colour on my lips and this is where the Rimmel infinite colour comes in.
The product was actually bought for me by a friend for my birthday along with a few other items of make up but for he purpose of this review I looked online and can advise you that the lip colour and gloss can be bought for just a couple of pounds on amazon which I think is a real bargain to be honest.
The Rimmel infinite colour lip colour and gloss is different than any other lip product I have owned before as it has two 4ml products all in one tube. You have 4ml of your lip colour and then 4ml of a clear lip gloss as well. To access either of these you just need to hold the product in the middle and twist whichever product off that you would like. Each of the products has their own brush attached to the lid.
The lip colour that I have is called keep on pouting and it is actually a brown colour really with just a tint of pink in it. It doesn't sound very nice the way I have described it I guess but it is the kind of colour that would look fab with a tan, bronzer and some simple eye colour.
The lip colour is easily applied with the slightly angled applicator and I find that it is best applied by wiping the excess colour on to the rim of the tube and then applying it to your lips. The colour does not drastically change the colour of my lips but it does just give them a nice, slightly darker tint. The colour does feel quite sticky initially whilst it is drying and I do find that slightly uncomfortable as I am not used to having my lips stick together! Once the lip colour has dried after a minute or so you are free to apply the lip gloss over the top using the opposite end of the tube. The gloss is again easily applied and gives the lips a lovely shine. Strangely the gloss takes away the sticky feeling of the lip colour and makes your lips feel soft. Usually I find glosses to be very sticky but that is not the case with this product.
The claims on the packaging of the lip colour tell us that the product is a ten hour lip colour and gloss. Well there is no way in the world that this product lasts ten hours! I find the glossy feel to the lips usually disappears within an hour or so and the lip colour is not really so noticeable just a few hours after that. I don't feel the need to reapply all the time as I feel the lip colour gives the lips a slight tint anyway and so I will tend to just add Vaseline to my lips afterwards if I feel the need.
Despite not lasting ten hours the product, in my opinion, is a decent one. It makes your lips look lovely, healthy and shiny and is a two in one product meaning you could always use the gloss on its own if you wanted to. As this product can be picked up for just a couple of pounds online I would say it is well worth looking out for.
Thank you for reading my review!
==Rimmel Infinite Colour Lip Gloss==
This is another one of my purchases from good old Poundland and I have to say it is one of the better ones. I thought I would give this one a try as I am not too good at remembering to re-apply my lip sticks or lip glosses all the time and this claimed to give colour on the lips for up to 10 hours! For £1 I couldn't help but load it into the basket!
The Rimmel Infinite Colour lip gloss seems to come in a variety of different shades but I picked up the one called " Hold On". This is a kind of brown and red colour and it is more to my preference than the other darker red or lighter pink colours that they had on the hanger.
The lip gloss comes in two different parts and both sections are accessed by a screw pot which has a brush applicator in the lid. The first part to apply is the colour of the lip gloss and because of the small tipped brush I found it very easy to apply to the lips and it was easy to get an accurate line of my lips. The colour I found to be very vibrant and rather darker than I was expecting it to be. This said on the second application I used less of the product and I found one dip into the gloss was enough of the product to give a good colour over both my top and my bottom lip.
The second stage of using this lip gloss is to apply the clear sealant type of section. This is a high gloss clear thick gel type gloss although there is none of that stickiness that makes your hair stick to your lips in gusts of wind. This is of course very easy to apply and you really don't need much more than one dip into the tube again. This section seems to make the first part of the lip gloss stain onto the lips and keep the colour.
There is a slight clean and floral smell to the lip gloss and this is one very mild but rather appealing all the same. The lip gloss gives a really good overall look and my lips are super colourful and super glossy without that nasty stickiness. I have to say that I wasn't holding out much hope for the colour to stay on my lips all day but I was surprisingly wrong on this and the colour, although faded a fair bit, was still apparent on my lips after a day in the office.
The gloss claims to be kiss proof, food proof and transfer proof and I must say that having tried all these out with the lip gloss in place that it does all appear to be correct and it is a very good lip stain type colour. Okay so the vibrant colour is as bold as it was when first applied to the lips but it was still in place to some degree and a quick re-apply is only necessary if you are off out after work!
All in all I find that this lip gloss was one of those good purchases from Poundland and well worth the £1 I paid for it. I can say that I generally preferred the colour once it had died down a bit and this is the colour which lasts the longest. I feel a top score of 5 out of 5 is only fair seeing as it really does what it claims to do whilst not being all nasty and gloopy!
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.
