Advantages: None for me.

Disadvantages: It barely moisturised my lips nevermind 'intensive' and is more like a lip gloss.

A few months ago during the depths of winter I was starting to suffer from dry, chapped lips and I made a mental note to buy some lip balm next time I was at the shop. The next day, this Simple Intensive Lip Moisturiser dropped through my letterbox as if they had read my mind. I was asked to give it a go and give them some feedback on what I thought of it. I began using it straight away to help fight heal my awful chapped lips, but did it actually work?

This new intensive lip moisturiser from Simple claims to have 2 vital vitamins, 1 skin loving nutrient and 0 perfume or colours. Simple claim to be the experts of sensitive skin and although I'm not a frequent user of the brand, that's because when I have used products made by Simple in the past I haven't found them to be particularly brilliant or special.
This comes packaged in a tiny little tube, which has a screw lid and contains 10ml. It's tiny and easily lost in your handbag. The back of the tube states to apply to your lips frequently throughout the day.

I was expecting this to be more of a creamy, balmy type of moisturiser so I was surprised when it came out clear and thick like a lip gloss. Once this was on my lips I was rather disappointed as it's not a balm at all really, it's thick and glossy and doesn't absorb and this isn't what I was wanting or expecting. My lips were dry and chapped so applying gloss to make them stand out was the last thing I wanted, but this is what the moisturiser did. It doesn't smell of anything but its thick and hair sticks to it easily. Still, I did hopes it might moisturise my lips and help heal them so I stuck with it.... for a while anyway. Unfortunately it didn't ever deliver a good result for me. I did apply this frequently for a few days but I may as well have been applying a lip gloss it really didn't feel as if it was helping to moisturiser my poor dry, chapped lips at all.

Would I recommend this? Well if you are indeed looking for an 'intensive lip moisturiser' as the name of the product suggests, I would say don't buy it! If however, you are looking for a thick lip gloss, then this is for you. I personally found it to be rubbish and I'll be sticking to good lip balms in future, as I've been sorely let down by this not-very-intensive moisturiser. I'm so glad I didn't pay for it! On a further note, when I posted some feedback on the Simple website, where comments are moderated before appearing on the site, my comment never actually appeared. Instead you had pages of praise for this rubbish product... well you know the truth now!

I can't actually find this to buy anywhere on the Internet but on the Simple website it does state it's available to buy from Superdrug. For more information you can visit: www.simple.co.uk

Summary: I would avoid this moisturiser and stick to a decent lip balm instead!
