I've never been a huge fan of lip glosses. Well actually I have, but I have never found one I like enough to keep buying. I buy so many and they are either a horrid colour, too sticky, or they just come off straight away. Mother Pucker XL is the first product I have bought more than once. In fact between buying it for me and presents for people I have bought about 10 tubes now!
As with all Soap and Glory products, this lip gloss comes in really nice packaging. An outer box with their claims and details; "A super-sizing, extra-strength collagen lip shine with LIPSWELLTM natural plant oil infusion, SUPERFILLTM nanovectors and VISIVOLUMETM immediate effect lip filler. " The tube of gloss itself s silver with pink writing, and a screw top lid. The only issue with this is that once you have had it for a month or so the silver often wears away (or at least has with mine) and so it looks a bit bashed, but with a product this good I don't mind!
So Soap and Glory claim that this gloss will not only give your lips a great shine but it will also plump them up! IT's a clear gloss which I really like as I prefer a natural colour even if the shine is unnatural. The gloss slides out of the tube easily and the tip is cut on a diagonal so it nicely covers all of your lip at once. The one downside with the shape is that I always end up with too much product in the corner of my mouth but as it's clear it is easy to tidy up.
Once the gloss has been on your lips for a few moments it really starts to tingle. I mean REALLY tingle. I like the feeling but I know others are not so keen as it is so strong at times (especially if you have put a bit too much on) In fact my partner refuses to kiss me shortly after I have put it on as the tingle is transferred apparently! To me, it just shows that the gloss is actually doing something. The tingle stops quite quickly though and you are left with a perfect pout. I normally reapply about every 3 hours or so but as it is clear you don't get that horrible obvious sign that parts of your gloss have rubbed off. Your lips just look slightly less glossy.
For me this product really does work. I have always had quite a full bottom lip and a ridiculously thin (barely visible) top lip that I am very conscious of. When I am wearing this gloss I feel more confident about my top lip as you can see it! I like the tingly feeling when you put it on and my lips don't feel overly sticky. I can tell I have lip gloss on but it's not at all irritating. It's not cheap at about £10 a tube but it is quite long lasting (about 3 months if you don't use it every day) and you can often get it on 3 for 2 deals. I tend to do that and keep two and give one to a friend. I've given it to so many people and only one of them didn't like it but she isn't really a gloss kind of person so it was a bit of a gamble! I would highly recommend it.
****What is it and how does it work?****
This is a lip gloss that claims to plump up your lips. The application is simple, you apply to your lips, wait a few minutes and voila! Big juicy lips like Angelina Jolie....well not quite! The tube is plastic which you squeeze to get the lip gloss out. It holds 10ml of clear lip gloss and is a good size to keep in your handbag/make up bag. The product is from a range called Soap and Glory, which originates from the US. There are many products in this range such as hand creams, body washes, mascaras etc.
*****Where can you buy it and how much does it cost?****
I purchased my lip gloss from Boots for £10.00. You can also purchase it from Amazon, Ebay and I'm sure many other shops.
*****My thoughts on this lip gloss******
I liked the idea of getting fuller lips by just applying a lip gloss and the application is simple, just apply and wait. The tube is silver with pink writing, which gives it a real girly feel. This lip gloss has a lovely chocolate scent which makes it tempting to lick your lips.
After about 5 minutes of applying this lip gloss I started to feel pins and needles in my lips. This was quite an uncomfortable tingling sensation. At first I thought that this must be how the lips plump up but after wearing it for over an hour my lips had not changed. After seeing no change I removed it straight away as it was starting to make me feel a sick. I used it a number of times after this and I still found it to make my lips feel uncomfortable and not really do anything! BEWARE... Do not lick! It is tempting, because it does smell nice, but your tongue starts to get pins and needles, which is also very uncomfortable.
Overall I think this is an over priced, glorified, lip shiner that makes your lips feel like they are having an allergic reaction with no rewards. I have purchased cheaper lip glosses which do a much better job. I would not recommend this lip gloss. For now I think I'll leave it to Angie to do the pouting...
I bought this recently as my sister raves about it! I seen it my local Boots for £9 and thought with the XL it must be good and my lips will look fab, so thought it was worth it!
When I first opened it, I first noticed the applicator, it is the style of applicator which is a continuation of the tube and slanted, I just placed it to my lips and squeezed out the amount I needed, this is great cause you don't have it over your hands, and it is quite thick and sticky, and also you waste less than what you might with others you apply with your finger (I especially hate these as I have long finger nails and end up digging out far more than I need), so this applicator is ideal.
Once I put it on I found that you need a good coverage to start to feel the tingling beginning. I left it about 5 minutes and ran back to the mirror to see my transformation, however I have to say my lip volume looked exactly the same! So from this point of view I was disappointed, however the tingling did lift the natural colouring of my lips, making them look a lot more naturally red! I also liked the nice shine I got from it. It was sticky when applied but this actually was quite good as I found it lasted longer than a lot of other lip products I have bought. Although if you have applied you will find that when you have a drink it will make the top of your drink glass sticky, but to be honest this has never been a problem for me, really not a big issue.
This also smells nice and doesn't taste of anything, nasty or nice so doesn't affect eating or drinking in that way!
All in all I think £9 is expensive for a lip gloss (that doesn't plump my lips), however I will be buying this again but I don't use it daily, just at the weekends, to make it last longer as really wouldn't want to be out buying this all the time.
After using the Sexy Mother Pucker, I was quite excited to try this out.
It has the same sweet cocoa smell that I've come to love from the Soap and Glory lip glosses and the same glossy (if a bit sticky) texture and look.
Within seconds my lips were tingling and gave the illusion of a bee stung pout which a number of people had positive comments about!
The Sexy Mother Pucker uses a collagen based formula with ingredients called LIPSWELL - natural plant oil infusion, SUPERFILL - nanovectors and VISIVOLUME - immediate effect lip filler gloss (pseudo science then.)
The sticky natire of the gloss however is a bit of a bad point as it makes it quite unpleasant if you are having a few drinks as your lipsfeel quite oily and the tingly feeling on your lips can overpower anything you may be drinking. If you're out and about when it happens to be windy, best hold your hair out of the way otherwise it'll stick there and nobody wants clagged up hair for the rest of the day/night.
You can buy this product in most Boots stores for £10 and it usually qualifies for the 3 for 2 offers especially at this time of year for all the kisses under the mistletoe! A number of online retailers stock the Soap and Glory range now although prices do vary by a couple of pounds here and there.
Despite the downside of hair sticking to your lips when you get caught in a breeze, I'm still a huge fan and once you've got the hair holding and drinking with a straw thing sorted, you won't go back!
I love this product and have made all my friends buy it too after they tried mine. I used to use the Sexy Mother-Pucker and liked the plumping effect, but this Extreme plump is far better in terms of making lips look and feel fuller. It is a little more money that I would normally pay for a lip gloss but I find that one bottle lasts a long time and I often get mine on a three for two offer which saves a bit. I find that this lip-gloss is not slippery and so doesn't easily wear off and stays put for hours. The packaging looks really classy and expensive and like a far more expensive brand. This product is really worth the money - very good quality indeed. The product does not have an overpowering smell which I can also find off putting about some make up, all in all a great buy.
I bought this lip gloss after using the 'standard' sexy mother pucker.
The packaging; i love it. it is perfect lip gloss shape. Fits neatly in every type of purse, handbag or pocket if desperate.
The silver and pink colouring works perfectly however i have found that the longer i have the product, the more the pink and silver rubs off so it looks very old through general battering in my handbag. Not such a good look.
The product itself has no smell and no particular taste as you inevitably end up rubbing your tongue across your lips.
i would definitely recommend using the standard gloss before buying this as it gets you used to the tingleing sensation which is more intense with this product.
As for effectiveness, i have thin lips that need all the help they can get and i think this really works. My lips felt and looked plumper and you feel more confident as a result. There are no colours that i am aware of so it is just clear gloss and for me that works perfectly as the look is more subtle and less vampy. That is good for day time but at night, it is probably worth putting your regular lip colour on and then following with some intense plumping!
The effect isn't long lasting so you do have to reapply regularly. However, as it is reasonably priced, that isn't such a bad thing.
I am one of those girls who is never happy with 'the natural look' my eyes are too small, my cheekbones are none existant and my lips too thin. I other words I am a total sucker for anything that says it can visably improve what I have. I was then of course going to buy Soap and Glory XL Extreme Plump Lip Shine - to hell with the extra £2 price tag compared to the brands usual lip gloss price tag, I want bigger lips!
To be honest I am usually highly dissapointed with the over inflated claims of beauty products but this one actually does what it says on the tin.
Shock horror after application my lips actually do look bigger, plumper (and in my humble opinion more kissable)! Even my usually totally unobservent boyfriend commented on my kissable lips when he doesnt even notice when I come back from the hairdressers sporting a new look. In short buy this product!
This is a fun product that does what it says it will and definitely the most effective lip plump I've ever tried. BEWARE if you have a low pain threshold or are a bit of a wimp because this does more than just tingle!
I am addicted to using this product on nights out and thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their pout. I've always wanted more volume on my top lip but would never get botox so when I found Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump I was instantly hooked! All of my girl friends have tried it and loved it too.
Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump seems innocent enough when first applied but after a few seconds your lips start to feel hot and begin tingling beyond belief. The sensation could be likened to pins and needles; lips will feel hot and slightly numb.
The texture of the product itself is pleasant and not greasy or sticky, unlike a lot of its rival lip glosses/plumpers. It has no particular smell and is clear with a slight, very subtle shimmer. I have used it alone and also with different lipsticks over so it is a versatile product that you can play about with. It looks very natural on its own but glamorous with some colour added so it will look great whichever way it is worn.
You don't need much to create the tingle and boost your pout but you will need to re-apply every hour or so to ensure your lips are plumped all day and/or night. The silver tube is made of soft plastic so you'll be able to squeeze every last drop out of it with ease. The part that you put on your lips is made of soft slanted rubber (feels like a baby's dummy) and the hole is quite small so there's little chance of you wasting a lot when you squeeze the product out. (If you are anything like me you will like this because there is nothing worse than splodging a load of make up out of a tube that you won't use)! Finally, it's not too pricey and should last a good while so is definitely worth the pennies!
The original Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss was the first Soap & Glory product i ever tried and my obsession grew from there! I was very impressed and just had to try the Sexy Mother Pucker XL Extreme was i saw it advertised!
I bought this from Boots = £10 for 10ml (Original is £8 for 7ml) which is quite expensive, but from time to time Boots offer 33% off Soap and Glory or a free gift.
The packaging is different from the tube and wand of the original. It is a silver tube with pink writing - you squeeze the tube to extract the gloss and apply with the nib.
The gloss smells the same as the original (a sort of chocolately smell i think) and is clear with a little sparkle. It only comes in one colour.
In my opinion the formula is no better the the original Sexy Mother Pucker (you should ignore the claims on the packaging to try the original before this one!) You still get that tingely feeling and slight plumping of the lips.
Tip: try your best not to get this product on your tongue as it cause the tingely feeling! - not pleasent!!
Overall, good product - the best way to chose between this and the original is what packaging you like the best (also the original is available in a few colours)!
I'm a huge fan of the Soap & Glory beauty range. I buy it from Boots (to get my advantage points, of course) and whilst it's more expensive than other ranges available, it's worth it because it's one of the best. I'd been wanting to try a lip plumper for a while, so I instantly tried the Soap & Glory one because I knew it was a brand I could trust... and it didn't disappoint.
I applied the lip plumper to my lips and within a few seconds, my lips started to tingle. It's advised that before using XL Extreme Lip Plump that you should try the tamer Mother Pucker lip glosses first but I actually used this one first and I could handle the tingling - I rather enjoyed it actually. I will warn you that the tingling can get quite intense but it's not unbearable. It did tingle for a little longer than I thought it would, after about ten minutes my lips were still tingling but after fifteen it had ended but the gloss remained on my lips and they felt really moisturised.
My lips did look a lot fuller and smoother so it definitely worked it's magic and I only applied it once in the morning, so my lips stayed plumper all day. The applicator is similar to that of a Lancome Juicy Tube and it's quite a large tube, so I won't be running out any time soon. The only downside it has is the smell as it's quite pungent and since your mouth is under your nose (haha), you will be able to smell it but actually once it's on your lips, the smell disappears, so maybe it just smells strong when it's in the tube.
I just love the Soap & Glory brand, the packaging is fun and the products work. The XL Extreme Lip Plump is £10 and can be purchased from Boots and Harvey Nichols in the UK but google it and I'm sure you'll find places to buy it. It's definitely a must-have for any make-up bag!
I was originally going to get Soap & Glory mother pucker lipgloss which provides a different range of shades. I then spotted Mother Pucker which claims to give twice as much volume for £2 more in only one clear shade, which would be nice to use over a lipstick or just on its own. I thought it would be the answer to my prayers, I have extremely small, thin lips, the top half looks as though it's nearly non existant.
Its in a 10ML silver tube and a squeezy applicator. the tube comes in a pretty boxed packaging that looks gimmicky, like most of their products. It was difficult throwing it away.
The lipgloss itself is clear, it has a thick consistensy, fairly thicker than your average lipgloss. Tt contains extra collagen for fuller lips and lipswell a natural plant infusion, visivolume and immediate effect lipfiller and superfill. Which makes it sound good for big trout lips.
I squeezed a small amount of lipgloss out and rubbed in with the applicator, it had a chocolately smell about it but wasn't too overpowering. I looked in the mirror there was no visable change but it takes around 10 minutes to work, 2 minutes later my lips felt like they were on fire, burning and tingly, it did feel a bit uncomfortable and I felt this sudden pop, after 10 minutes the tingling had vanished. It is supposed to do this, when I looked in the mirror there was no difference at all in the size on my lips apart from my mouth was wide open due to the uncomfortable feeling. I am insulted that Soap & Glory state in their packaging 'fuller lips attract men more' on products that don't work.
It is a nice lipgloss though and has a beautiful shine too it and is not sticky at all and lasts quite a while. Don't you just hate it when you have lipgloss on in the wind and your hair gets all stuck in it! Well, I had no problems in that sense and I am continuing to use it as a nice non sticky lipgloss on it's own or over a lipstick it's really nice.
I am still unsure whether I will purchase this again as it is pretty expensive £10 for a non sticky clear lipgloss, if it actually plumped my lips things would be different but I'm not sure if it is worth the price tag because it didnt plump my lips in the slightest.
You can purchase the lipgloss for £10 in Boots or Harvey Nichols.
I have always liked the idea of having slightly fuller lips as I always feel that mine look a little on the thin side. Now while I look through all the glossies and see these fabulous full mouthed beauties I look at them and think how much better my life would be if only I had a pout to rival a supermodel ( Please note this is a joke and my tongue is firmly in my cheek behind my tiny lips!). I did however want to have fuller lips and thought that rather than go down the lip filler route and end up with a trout pout I decided to try the XL Extreme Plump Lip Shine and here is my experience.
====== The Product ======
The Sexy Mother Pucker XL Extreme Plump lip shine is the latest plumper for lips from Soap & Glory.
The lip shine comes in a sliver tube with a screw off lid and pink writing down the middle.
It contains extra strength collagen with LIPSWELL tm which is an natural plant oil infusion and SUPERFILL tm nanovectors and Visivolume which are immediate effect lip fillers.
It claims to work instantly and provide you with fuller lips with a buzz and a tingle and you should see the effects instantly with a va va Boom mouth.
It does warm you on the packaging that its not for the meek of mouth and New Sexy Mother Pucker users should have used a few tubes of the original before moving onto the extreme.
====== My Experience With The Lip Shine ======
I have to admit that I do not always heed warnings and this is the case here, I bypass the original and went straight for the XL Extreme!. I could not wait to get home and try it.
I ripped the box open and like a maniac rushed into the bathroom and unscrewed the lid.
The applicator is part of the tube and is the perfect shape for applying it straight to your lips.
When you gently squeeze the tube the lip shine appears through a tiny hole and this is great for making sure you do not apply to much.
The lip shine is a slightly cloudy colour which changes to clear when applied.
I applied a very fine film and waited for my thin lips to become supermodel size. there was almost immediately a tingle and then it was slightly uncomfortable as the tingle felt a little like an ice burn but then that started to wear off and then it started to feel as though someone had covered my lips in sherbet and this made me want to keep them slightly open which I am afraid to say was the only real pout I was going to get. I stared into the mirror for another five minutes waiting and To be totally honest I could not see any real difference, I did think that my bottom lip appeared slightly fuller in the respect that the lines did look slightly filled in but I am afraid for me it did not live up to the XL Extreme label.
I have to say that as a lip shine I think that it's great as it lasted for a good few hours before I needed to re apply but as a lip plumper it did not do the job.
I know that a lot of people rate this as a good lip plumper and perhaps my lips just are not playing ball but I found it disappointing.
====== My Conclusion ======
As a lip shine it's great, it's comfortable to wear and lasts well and gives a lovely natural shine and not the plastic look that you can get.
As a lip plumper I just can not see enough difference to warrant calling it that although as I said earlier my bottom lip showed a very slight difference but not enough for an original strength lip plumper never mind XL Extreme.
I did have a pout for a while but only because I was frightened to close my mouth!
As with other Soap & Glory products they can be purchased at boots and the XL Extreme is available for approx £10.00
ok...I bought this about a month ago, not expecting much because its not exactly expensive, and Soap and Glory is about nice packaging and smells rather than real scientific results(just my opinion! dont get me wrong I love it, and have the hatbox set!)when I first applied it it felt smooth and pleasant, not at all sticky or gooey like some lipglosses. To be honest, all it does is tingle, it doesnt make any noticeable difference to the colour or size of my lips, but still a nice gloss. Tube lasts ages too. The best plumper out there is Too Faced lip injection Extreme, a light serum which noticeably plumps lips and makes them red and swollen(I really dont know why people moan about the 'pain' when using lip plumpers!)this one really works, it does sting but the results are better than anything ive tried, including Soap & Glory im afraid!
As a regular shopper in Boots, and a fan of Soap and Glory, I spotted this product appearing in the stores just a few weeks ago. Prior to this Soap anf Glory had released other plumping lip sticks and lip glosses, but this product promised to be the best yet. As Soap and Glory is on save a third in Boots at the moment I thought it would be worth ago, as what women wouldn't want full, plump lips to give them that perfect pout.
The product comes in a cardboard box, with the usual attraction, 1950s style packaging Soap and Glory are known for, with a window where the lip gloss can be seen through. The lip gloss itself comes in a shiny silver tube with pink writing, which would look good in any girl's hand-bag. The tube is a screw lid, and contains 10ml of the lip gloss.
The box states that it is a "super sizing, extra strength, collagen clear lip shine with lipswell (natural plant oil infusion), superfill nanovectors and visivolume (immediate effect lip filler). To be honest I cannot tell you exactly what this translates as, but in simple form it means it has all the ingredients it needs to make your lips look filled and plump.
The lip gloss is easy to apply, just simple unscrew the lip and squeeze the tube and apply the lip gloss to your lips (it is a similar applicator to the Blistex new massage lip balm). The lip gloss goes onto your lips smoothly and has a good consistency, medium thickness, but is not gloopy. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was not as sticky as other glosses I have tried, but still gave a very nice shiny appearance. The product has a slight scent, hard to describe but rather pleasant and subtle, and tastes fine (so don't worry about licking it off).
Initially the gloss feels just like any other lip gloss, but after about 5seconds a tingling sensation begins. At this point the tingling is rather pleasant, and gives your lips and very refreshing cooling sensation. Even from this point you feel the gloss working, and when I looked it the mirror I believed my lips had already looking plumper. However, after about 3minutes the tingling became more intense, which is where my opinion on the gloss is split. When I used this product on top of my own lipstick the tingling was definitely more intense, but was still comfortable and slightly refreshing. On the other hand, when I have used this gloss without any layer of lipstick underneath, I found this more intense tingling rather uncomfortable and slightly painful. In fact, after a few more minutes I had to remove the gloss as it was just too painful. So, always have a layer of lipstick on first! Yet again, after the more intense tingling my lips definitely did look fuller and plumper.
The tingling lasts a good 30minutes to an hour depending on how much you eat, drink, lick your lips etc. Even after 30minutes I still believed my lips look bigger, but the affect was slowing disappearing. After a couple of hours any signs of the lip gloss has gone. Admittely I would of liked it to last a little longer, but nothing ever seems to last as long as you want.
As I mentioned early I brought this product while it was on offer at a third off (on offer in Boots until about the 20th Feb 2010), making it more worth the money. Normally the product costs £10. I liked the product as saw noticeable results, however, due to the painful tingling I am not sure if I will but the product again.
Overall an OK product, with good results. I would rate it at 3.5 stars.
I love my lip plumpers - I've tried everyone from Dior to Duwop lip venom to Sally Hanson - I'm addicted, but I always go back to Soap and Glory. Not only do they smell great but they definitely give the right sensation and the look they promise, so I was very excited when I saw the "XL Extreme Plump" when I went to buy the usual sexy mother pucker lip glosses.
What I love about Soap and Glory products the most, is the packages, when I buy one of the items I always feel like Im treating myself, and it's the same with this product, I wanted to keep the packaging hhaa! The actual lipgloss is just plain silver and pink, very nice, and i much prefer the squeezy applicator to the brush on, I feel you can get more product out that way.
It promises vava voom lips, and it lives up to its claim, My lips nearly doubled in size, but not in a nasty bee stung way - a nice plump way :). Also you can safely put this over lipstick, and it won't ruin the colour, as it's clear, or make it fade, and it still works and you can still feel the tingly sensation.
I think for people who love there plumping stinging lipglosses, go for it - you won't be disappointing and most likely surprised how big it makes your lips! But if you never tried any before - like they advise - try the original sexy mother pucker lipgloss first, the tingling could be considered as "stinging" to some!
Overall a very good product and definitively would purchase again!
Price was around £6 for me on offer at Boots!
