“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Lip Plumper „
When it comes to buying pointless things (that I really don't need lol) I really must be Queen of doing so. I love shopping and even if I need nothing at all I never comes home empty handed it's just not my style!
Last week I was browsing in Tesco's and there was nothing I wanted or needed at all and I was actually about the leave a store empty handed when I spotted these Tesco Finest Perfect Lip Plumper's reduced from £5.49 to a pound each and me being me I couldn't pass that by! lol.
The lip plumper comes in a clear oblong and quite thin, long box. To the sides and back of the box it's frosted with a slightly darker white pattern on it. On the front in white writing on a thin black band of colour I'm told it's Perfect Lip Plumper. In black writing on the back of the box I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, warnings are listed, ingredients are given and finally contact details for Tesco are there. On the bottom of the box there is a small white sticky label on there with a bar-code on. From a 'Finest' range it all looks very sleek and smart packaging and I like being able to see the product through the front of the it's box too.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Box....
Perfect your A-List pout with the help of this plumping up glosser. Lips tingle on application as the Chilli and Menthol get to work.
Directions For Use....
Twist base of pen clockwise to release the product into the brush and apply to lips to get ready to pout.
Looks wise this is really a nice and classy looking product I'm proud to be seen with. No writing on it at all it's simply a shiny silver and long shaped pen with a lid to one end that simply twists on and off and that lid covers a longish see-through plastic applicator that has about half an inch of brilliant white 'hairs' to it to create a brush. At the other end of the pen all you do is simply twist it slightly to get some product through the pen and onto the brush to use and it dispenses a small amount at a time, so no messes!
You can use this alone or you can use it on top of stuff, it's entirely up to you of course.
Application is incredibly fuss free and easy. I find with a lot of synthetic types of brushes they really tickle my lips and irritate me and this just applies the white and slightly pinkish gloss onto my lips, neatly and easily. The product isn't hard to apply, feels a tiny bit clammy on the lips cos it's quite thick for a couple of minutes and then it sort of sinks into the lips leaving a soft shine and hint of a shimmery pink colour which gives a look of health to the lips.
When you first apply it you feel nothing at all happening. A minute or so later you can really really feel the menthol kicking in making lips slightly tingle and if it gets in your mouth a little tastes a bit menthol too which isn't unpleasant or anything.
Once on the lips you can feel it softening and hydrating the lips for a good couple of hours and after half an hour the menthol disappears. It isn't highly glossy and I'd say if your looking for a real gloss then don't bother with this. This is a lip plumper.. but does it work?
The jury is out to be totally honest with you and no matter how often I use this and how much I scrutinise my lips when I've applied this (like now lol) I simply can't commit myself one way or the other. The thing is the menthol feeling on the lips works and tingles and I certainly feel that my lips are fuller with it on though no one has said anything and they don't look any different to me really. However the condition of lips feels soft and smooth and I like a dab of this over my usual lipstick for a little extra sheen and I feel at least it does something for me.
Is this product worth it's usual price tag of £5.49? Not in my view cos I think that's a high price to pay for something that your not sure if it works or not and I'd say treat yourself to some Sexy Mother Plucker (Soap & Glory) instead which in my opinion, really does work lol.
