*HOW I CAME ABOUT THIS PRODUCT*
Last year, I received one of these lip balms, as a stocking filling at Christmas time. Since then I have been given another flavour. This Body Shop Born Lippy lip born is not a product I would buy for myself, because I usually use lip gloss, or Vaseline if I need a lip balm. But having said that, I like this product.

*BRAND*
The Body Shop is against animal testing and they support community trade. So this product is made from ethically correct products where possible. They make multiple beauty products and cosmetics. Their stores are located nationwide, and they can be found online at www.thebodyshop.co.uk .

This range of lip balms is sold in multiple different flavours: Strawberry, Raspberry, Mango-Peach, Satsuma, Watermelon, Pink Guava, and Passion-berry.

*PACKAGING*
The lip balm comes in a small, round pot. It's made of a translucent plastic. The pot is pocket sized, so is easily carried round in your pocket or handbag (although because it's so small it can easily get lost in the bottom a big handbag!) The lid screws off for us to see the lip balm. On the lid there is a label (colour coordinated to the flavour) this tells us basic information about the product, and the bottom has a peel off label that tells us the ingredients and other such information. The pot holds 10ml of lip balm, which is a fair amount compared to other lip balms.

*THE LIP BALM*
The lip balm is thick and soft. Because of its softness it easily glides over your lips. The lip balm is coloured due to the flavour: Strawberry is red, Raspberry is pink, Mango-Peach is orange, Satsuma is also orange, Watermelon is red, Pink Guava is pink and Passion-berry is purple. The lip balms all have really nice smells, all of which will last on your lips, for a little while.

*APPLICATION*
You don't need much to cover your lips, and even with frequent use this balm will last you a long time. You just need to dip you finger in and smooth across your lips. I have found that you will be left with some on your fingers, so you will need to wipe this off, because it can be greasy. Because of the shape of the pot it is easy to get out and you can easily reach the bottom of the pot.

*EFFECTS*
The lip balm softens your lips and keeps them moisturised. You cannot really see the colour on your lips, so don't be put off by the orange one! You can smell the lip balm though, but it doesn't linger for very long after application. This product can make your lips greasy because it doesn't really sink in to your lips; it more just sits on the surface. It isn't sticky, but it's a little bit slippery on your lips. I don't think that it really gives a particular shine to your lips, but you can definitely tell that it's there. This product does help sooth sore lips, and protect them from harsh weather conditions.

The lip balm will last you for around an hour, but not much longer. If you have a tendency to lick your lips, it will disappear much quicker though!

*PRICE AND AVALIBLITY*
Each lip balm will set you back around £2 and can be bought in any one of The Body Shop stores, or online at www.thebodyshop.co.uk .Sometimes this can be found on offer. This price is pretty reasonable, to say it's from a high quality brand, so I would agree that this is a good price.

*EXTRA INFOMATION*
I have never had any problems with this causing irritation to my lips, or the skin around them. Once this lip balm is open you must use it within twelve months.

*ADVANTAGES*
This range has great smelling lip balms and a good range of flavours. It provides hydration to the lips, and protects from harsh weather conditions. I also like the pot and the design, and it's a reasonable price. Also, the Body Shop is against animal testing and it helps community trade.

*DISADVANTAGES*
The only disadvantages that I can think of are that it's greasy, it doesn't last, and it doesn't sink in to my lips properly.

*CONCLUSION*
I wouldn't buy this product again, because I just prefer Vaseline. But, the smells and flavours are nice, and there isn't much that puts me off using this product again. The design is quirky and it is a quality product, but the lip balm doesn't last very long on your lips after application. It is a reasonable price for what you get, and I would definitely recommend it. An okay 3 stars from me! To gain its final two stars it would have to be less greasy, last longer and it would have to sink into my lips, instead of sitting on the surface of them.

You can visit www.thebodyshop.co.uk for more information about the company, or to purchase this product. This can also be bought in store from The Body Shop.

Thank you for reading my review; I hope it was of some use to you!
