The Product

The product is part of the Born Lippy range and is a lip balm stick that helps to moisturise and condition lips. The lip balm comes in a range of different flavours but I am reviewing the Strawberry flavour. The lip balm helps to give your lips a shot of moisture and a soft shine as well as giving them a light pink tint. I sometimes use Vaseline to moisture my lips but I prefer using this before I go to bed as I find this rather greasy. I have just run out of my other lip balm stick so I decided to look at the range on The Body Shop website. The product is available to buy in either a stick or pot format. I prefer the stick format as I think this is more hygienic than the pot format and is also easier to apply as well. Although the lip balm comes in a range of different flavours the Strawberry flavour stood out more for me which I why I decided to purchase this one. The product comes in a pink and white coloured tube with a clear plastic lid, so you can see the top of the lip balm stick. On the tube of the product is a pair of lips and it states that the product is. The product comes sealed in plastic so you tell that the item hasn't been opened or tampered with.

Using the Product

I pulled the lid off the stick and smelt the product first. It smelt really fruity and it reminded me of strawberry bubblegum I used to have when I was younger. It smelt almost good enough to eat. The actual stick of lip balm is slightly darker than I expected but I presumed this wouldn't look this dark when applied to my lips. I twisted the bottom of the tube to push up some of the lip balm and applied it to my lips with a mirror in front of me so I could instantly see the results and if it did give my lips a slight colour. The lip balm was easy to apply to my lips and the stick just glided across my lips without any effort. As I applied the product I could smell the lovely strawberry smell. My lips definitely had a slight sheen to them and they looked moisturised and conditioned. There wasn't really a great deal of colour how-ever I wasn't really bothered about this. My lips did have a light shine to them which looked nice. When applying the product throughout the day as and when needed the lip balm kept my lips feeling moisturised and soft. There was no actual taste to the product and I couldn't really feel that the product was on my lips. I did how-ever expect a slightly sweet taste as it smelt so nice.
Overall Opinion

The lip balm smelt delicious and kept my lips feeling moisturised all day long. I loved the light shine the product gave to my lips as they looked moisturised and conditioned. In terms of value I think the product is very reasonable and no more expensive that what other lip balms are priced at. I love the range of different flavours you can buy this product in and I would be very tempted to try a different flavour in the range when my current one runs out. I personally wouldn't purchase one of the lip balm pots due to hygiene reasons but I would purchase the product again. I think the lip balm works just as well as other products and isn't anything special apart from the choice of flavours. I highly recommend this product to others.
