I love the body shop, I have a body shop membership card and love the vouchers that they send me via email so when I recently received a 50% off voucher on a £50 spend I practically ran into the shop excited at what goodies I would find.
After filling my basket up I found I was short of £50 by just a couple of pound then I spotted this lip balm so not even looking I threw it into my basket and took my bag of goodies home very excited to try them out. Firstly the pots are the most perfect size, fit in any pocket and is an easy screw cap opening - unlike the Vaseline pots that get stuck!
When you open up the pot the smell of coconut hits you and you are overwhelmed, it is like you have just stepped off the plane on holiday. It is wonderful. I would buy this product if only for the scent but when I put this on it is amazing, the product gives your lips a lovely shimmer but not over shiny like most lip-glosses. It also leaves me lips feeling extremely moisturised and they feel like this for around an hour after applying the product. I suffer from dry lips and I feel this product has improved this massively.
This product lasts such a long time, I re-apply my constantly throughout the day (around 7-9 times) and I still have 3/4 of a pot left round a month later so I think these are great value for money. They cost £2 and if you are a member (which only costs £5 a year) then you will also get 10% off this price. You can purchase this from most body shop stores or online.
If you want super soft, glossy lips with a heavenly scent then this product is for you.

The product I am reviewing is Coconut Lip Butter from The Body Shop. Most of you will probably be familiar with the range of lip butters that they do and you may also have a favourite that you buy as soon as you run out. I have tried two of the different lip butters and have been quite impressed with the way they moisturise your lips and keeps them feeling soft and smooth. During the winter/colder time of the year I like to have a lip balm in my handbag so I can apply the product whenever I need to when out and about. Although I didn't specifically go into my local shop to purchase this particular lip butter, it actually came in a tin with 2 other lip butters and as the set was quite cheap this is what prompted me to purchase it. Obviously people who dislike coconut will not like this lip butter. This particular lip butter is a lovely buttery balm that melts onto the lips for instant hydration and it contains organic virgin coconut oil to give instant hydration and to leave lips feeling soft and smooth. The lip butter comes in a round plastic pot which holds 10ml of the lip butter. The small round pot is brown in colour but it has a round label on the top of the lid which has a picture of a coconut on which obviously represents the smell/taste of the lip butter. The Body Shop logo is in the centre of the label and it clearly states that this product is lip butter. As the product comes in a small pot this makes it handy to slip into a small bag or pocket so you have it with you all the time, should you need to apply it during the day.

I always like to apply a lip butter or balm on my lips before going to bed and I normally always apply a product from The Body Shop. When unscrewing the lid and smelling the lip butter it has a gorgeous scent of coconut which I loved. The butter itself is very pale and is a white colour and has a smooth finish to the top. Using a clean fingertip I gently rubbed it over the top of the surface of the lip butter to ensure some of the product was on my fingertip. The butter felt extremely soft and smooth and you don't need to really apply any pressure when trying to get some of the lip butter out, otherwise you may find that you end up getting too much out of the pot. The lip butter looks slightly white on my fingertip and it had a slightly glossy look to it as well. I applied it to my lips which was easy and had a look in the mirror. My lips looked moisturised and they had a slight shine to them as well. Although the lip balm looked white on my fingertip it didn't look white on my lips which was good, although because I was applying it before bed it didn't really matter anyway. I will admit to licking my lips to see if the lip balm had any taste and it did actually have a slight taste of coconut which I was a little surprised by. Although this tasted nice, I wasn't tempted to keep licking my lips and end up licking it all off. I went to bed and woke in the morning to find that my lips were extremely soft smooth and they felt moisturised as well as looked moisturised. I was very impressed by this and though that the lip butter did a very good job. I put the lip butter into my bag so I could use it during the day if I needed to. I applied the product to my lips before going to get the bus as it was a chilly morning. I couldn't really feel the lip butter on my lips but my lips felt moisturised. When using the lip butter in the day I find that it does need to be applied a few times during the day as it tends to wear off, how-ever I don't think it would wear off any quicker than any other lip butter or other lip product. Obviously after eating/drinking the product will need to be re-applied anyway.

Although I do like coconut and like the scent, I wasn't intending on purchasing this product and probably wouldn't have purchased anything else from the coconut range as it just didn't appeal to me despite liking the scent of coconut. The first thing I noticed about the lip butter is how soft it was in comparison to other lip butters, it seemed so much softer and in fact this would probably make me a little worried that it might start to melt in the summer or during the warmer times of the year. The lip butter was easy to apply and felt very pleasant on my lips without leaving them feeling or looking greasy. The lip butter gave my lips instant hydration and they feel and looked much more moisturised than they had done previously. I love that the product comes in a handy little pot which means you can take it anywhere with you to apply during the day or when your lips need a bit of tlc. In terms of value I do think the product is very reasonable as it does work well, smells nice and it even tastes lovely too. I would definitely recommend this product to others and this has also tempted me to try some other products in the range as well which I think I will treat myself to next month.

I love the body shop and all they stand for, so I really enjoy trying out all the different products and I am never disappointed with the scent or the way it works!
I've tried a few of there lip chap sticks and many of there lip butters, and I must say the lip butters are by far the best lip products for keeping lips hydrated. And to be honest when buying lip creams or other products in a stick they snap so easily so I love the fact that the butters are in a cute little pot.
Easy to keep in your handbag so available for use whenever your lips need some loving!
Now.. the scents! As all body shop lovers know there products always smell amazing, and for me that's one of the most important things as you want to enjoy applying the product! And trust me you won't be disappointed with this scent!
