The Body Shop Lip Balms
Advantages: Smell, Taste, Price, Moisturises well.
I am a huge fan of my lip balms, and I like to experiment with a wide range of them. However, one of my all time favourites has to be The Body Shop's range of lip balms. I have been using them since I was a young teenager as I remember it being one of my first ever items of make up which I owned, and shockingly still today I love it just as much as I did back then.
At the moment they are retailing at £2.00 which is an extremely good price for The Body Shop, and also an extremely good price for the quality of which these products are. I remember however, that when I started purchasing them many years ago, they retailed at quite a lot of a higher price than this, so it is good that they are more affordable nowadays.
Within each tub of these, you get a generous 10ml worth of lip balm, and they are used by simply unscrewing the lid and applying a little of the product on to your lips before rubbing it in. All of these lip balms are very fruity, and are therefore perfect for summer. The range includes scents such as strawberry, satsuma, mango and peach, passionberry and watermelon. The two which I am most familiar with are the satsuma and watermelon scent.
The first thing to note is just how delicious the scents of these lip balms are. I have dabbled with many fruity scents in the past when it comes to lip care products, but these really smell like the real deal. They are gorgeous, and I find myself opening the tub just to have a whiff of the product because it is just that yummy!
The watermelon shade is a baby pink, however when it is rubbed in it is still a sheer lip balm and very wearable. The satsuma shade however has a bit of shimmer included with it, so this is much more suitable for night time use and giving your lips an extra kick, as well as protecting them. When applying the lip balm, it simply melts on to your finger and is really simple to apply. I love how easy the application process of this is, because other tubs such as Vaseline, you sometimes have to hold your finger over it for a while to allow the product to melt, but this is so much simpler.
The results look excellent after, and although sheer it gives your lips an extra something and makes them look fabulous as well as keeping them healthy. They really do help with dry lips, and after application leave them feeling smooth and soft. Although an extremely moisturising lip balm, I do not think it is effective enough to work on quite chapped lips.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with these lip balms, and throughout this summer I will be sure to pick up more and more of these to add to my make up bag. What is the point in spending the same price for a plain, boring lip balm when you can get a funky, delicious tasting balm for the same price. Big thumbs up from me, thank you for reading.
Summary: Gorgeous lip balm.
