I myself am a massive body shop fan, but it was only in the last month that i gave the lip care products a try. i bought this because the smell was heavenly and i already owned the matching body butter.
i must say that i do not feel that the smell or smooth texture from the lip balm stays on your lips for too long, however whilst its there its heavenly and actually healed up my sore, cracked lips a treat! its a nice handbag size and i carry it everywhere it is nice that there are complementary scents available, its like a treat for myself when i can wear the matching body butter, ect. the tub looks to be small, but mine has lasted a long time, and looks to last much longer (i use it daily!) so i would say its been great value for money too!
I have a small confession to make... I absolutely love grapefruit. I can get through a bottle of grapefruit squash very quickly! Everyone else thinks I'm mental (I'm not by the way). So, when I saw this on sale in my local Body Shop, I obviously thought all my birthdays had come at once. I thought I'd give it a go!
I spotted it in the promo baskets near the till and added it to my shopping. I tried it out pretty much as soon as I left the shop!
This lip butter comes in a similar pot to the body butter but in a smaller size. The pot is exactly the same type, with a lid that screws off. The top is decorated with with a lovely looking picture of a grapefruit, with the logo in the middle and the usual wording around the outside. The size of the pot is 10ml which doesn't sound a lot, but for a lip balm item, it lasts a long time. The lid is easy to screw off, it's not fiddly and unlike some lip balm pots, it doesn't end up with the thread getting all gunky!
I took the lid off and smelt it as I was in some doubt whether it would be particularly grapefruity, and I must say, it smells absolutely divine! This balm has the same consistency as the body butter products and is just as easy to remove from the pot. Swirl your finger around and you'll have plenty on it to apply!
It applies well and feels like it's sinking into your skin. When you've applied, the smell is even more amazing. It sinks in and really does a good job of moisturising your lips as they feel great. One thing I must say is that I've had lip balms where the moisturising effect has lasted longer, I've had to apply this one more frequently than other balms.
This seems like quite a popular product as I've seen it in a few body shops I've been in recently and its generally in the promo baskets either by the till or by the door! This costs £4 which is a bit on the pricey side. I wouldn't buy it regularly as it's a bit out of my price range; however its great for a treat.
If you have ever used a Body Shop body butter then you will have a fairly good idea of what the pink grapefruit lip butter is like as it is very similar and is just like a body butter in miniature.
The pink grapefruit lip butter comes in a little tub and costs £4. I think £4 is a bit steep for a lip balm but it is from the body shop and their skin care products are usually a little bit more expensive than other similar items and they have good quality natural ingredients in them as well as being ethical.
The lip butter is a whipped butter texture and has a smell of pink grapefruit. I have always liked the pink grapefruit fragrance from the body shop and this is very similar to the other items in the collection. It is zesty and sweet and smells quite natural. It also tastes a little bit like grapefruit when I have accidentally licked it from my lips.
I just use this like any other lip balm by rubbing my finger over the butter and putting it on my lips. I like this when I first put it on as it doesn't feel heavy or greasy and just sort of melts into my lips giving them moisture and making them feel comfortable straight away.
The problem that I have with this is that it doesn't last long enough. I can put this on my lips and they feel nice and not dry but after a short time the butter either melts completely into my lips or else it just wears away and they feel dry again and I need to use some more butter.
This butter does leave the skin on my lips looking nice though and it seems to plump my lips out a little and make them look more luscious. I just wish it was longer lasting as I went through a tub so quickly because I needed to apply it so often for my lips to continue to keep comfortable.
I like this but I wouldn't run to buy it again just because of how little it lasts and how quickly I went through the tub.
WHAT IS IT?
A lip butter from The Body Shop that is flavoured of pink grapefruit.
This lip butter comes in the same sort of tub as the body butter from The Body Shop. It has got a twist off lid that has got a picture of a pink grapefruit on it and the colour of the tub is a very pretty peach that I like very much.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You dip your finger or a cotton bud into the lip butter and apply it to your lips. You do not need to use very much every time you apply it because the butter melts into the skin of your lips, it does not spread easy to start with but when it has warmed up a little bit from the heat of your lips the butter will apply a lot better.
WHAT I THINK
I like this lip butter and think it is very effective at moisturising my lips. The taste is not as refreshing as you think it will be because even though I can smell and taste the pink grapefruit there is a buttery and creamy flavour also that I do not think matches with the citrus very good.
I do not use it every day because it is very thick and heavy but when my lips were very dry and chapped recently this was the one that solved the problem because it is very intense. I think that this very tiny tub will last me for a very long time because I have had it for many weeks now and it doesn't look like it has been used at all.
I like how soft it feels and the way it makes my lips feels moisturised as soon as I apply it, the moisture lasts for a long time because of how buttery the lip balm is but sometimes I think it is a little bit greasy and then I do not like to use it very much.
This lip butter costs £4 and you can buy it only from The Body Shop or online.

Product: Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter
From: The Body Shop
I'm a huge fan of Lip Butters; I find them much more moisturising and effective for my lips than a regular chap stick or a standard lip balm.
I bought the Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter for £4.00 from The Body Shop. The product comes packaged in a small 10ml size pot which as a screw top lid. The product Logo and description is printed on a label at the top of the pot whilst all other relevant information is printed on a small sticker at the bottom of the pot. These look a lot like The Body Shops regular body butter just a miniature sized version.
I love the packaging for the lip butter, a pinky-peach shade which looks extremely cute and very girly.
The butter inside the pot is very firm and has that buttery feel texture to it. Once applied to the lips with your finger the product quickly melts and applies easily to the lips. It does feel a little greasy to start but the greasiness feel soon disappears and leaves my lips looking smooth with a slight sheen to them.
The Lip Butter is extremely moisturising and makes my lips feel extremely smooth and soft. It smells delicious too, just like Grapefruit.
The pot may only be small but this lasts me for at least 6 months or so, a little really does go a long way.
A product which I will definitely be purchasing again.
Dooyoo Stars: 5/5.
I usually just have Vaseline for when I have sore lips but my daughter bought me this lip butter and I love it! I really like zety, fruity products and especially like The Body Shop so this was a very good buy from her and has made me try something other than Vaseline and realise that other products for lips can be successful too.
The Body Shop make products that are all ethical and they like to give back to the communities in which the ingredients are sourced. I really like their morals and have used them for a long time. I love to go into their stores and smell the various products they have.
This little lip butter is lovely. It comes in a small round pot which is grapefruit colour and has a twist off lid. The lid is easy enough to get off, I don't struggle with it, because it's small it's easy to grip.
The butter inside is very firm, I think it's more dense than Vaseline. You don't even need to put it to your nose to smell it, the smell escapes as soon as you open the lid and it's lovely, really zesty and fresh. It doesn't smell false at all but very natural which is lovely. It makes my mouth water.
I apply this with my finger, I find just running my finger over the butter is enough. This is slightly greasy which is fine as that makes it easy to apply from the finger onto the lips. It doesn't leave a greasy mark behind, my lips do look as though they have something on them but it's only a slight shine and it doesn't have a colour luckily!
The effect is that my lips feel really nicely moisturised. If they are dry in the first place then they feel much better afterwards as a result.
I am really pleased with this, I like how the smell lingers too so that I can smell it for a little while afterwards.
This costs £4 and I think that that is a very good price to pay, it may be twice the price of Superdrug's own lip butters but this is really lovely and very effective.
I adore the Body Shop's pink grapefruit products. I have the body butter and the shower gel which are both delicious and recently bought the pink grapefruit perfume which I also love. The only pink grapefruit product which totally fails to impress me is the lip butter and I really don't like it.
Like all of the Body Shop's lip butters, this is supplied in a small round pot with a screw-off lid. The good thing about this lid is that it stays put and doesn't fall off in your bag, unlike many lip balm tins. It looks like a tiny version of the body butter pot.
It costs £4 for 10 ml which seems inexpensive compared to many Body Shop products until you stop and think that you could probably pick up several good quality lip balm sticks for the same price. My love of pink grapefruit blinded me to that logic at the time of purchase.
The pot is pink with a picture of a cross-section of a juicy pink grapefruit on the lid. It's a pretty little thing. To use, simply dip a (clean) finger into the pot, scrape up a little dab and rub it on your lips. It's not complicated - you don't need to read the instructions. The smell is divine, a sweet, juicy, peely burst of grapefruit that smells absolutely authentic. It tastes so good that you'll struggle not to lick it off but the texture to my mind is a touch on the gritty side. I don't find that my lips really feel very moisturised at all when I'm using this I have to keep dabbing it on repeatedly to try to take away the dryness.
This should work. It contains shea butter which is normally fabulous at softening and moisturising as well as a whole slew of other different oils and waxes which really ought to add up to something pretty impressive but somehow, something went wrong.
Perhaps it's me rather than the product that's faulty but I certainly won't be buying it again. It has all the usual Body Shop credentials of Fair Trade ingredients and nothing tested on animals but for me it's just a complete failure.
I am always in the body shop looking for little treats to myself. I do have a slight addiction to lip products so was very excited recently when I saw this product.
I loved the little tub best that was the thing that caught my eye as I browsed the store but when I opened it to test the smell was just as appealing.
The grapefruit lip butter cost me around £5 so it wasn't cheap but I love body shop products and have always found that they work so thought it was worth it.
The body shop products also come with the added bonus of knowing no animals have been harmed making them which I always find comforting.
The tub was very little and cute it holds 10ml of the product.
I tried the butter as soon as I got it out of the shop. The consistency is perfect not too thick but not at all runny.
You can either apply it by using your finger which is what I always do but you could use a lip brush if you wanted to. You hardly need any of the lip butter as it spreads very well and is absorbed into your lips quickly.
The perfect thing about this product is that you can use it as often as you like and your lips won't look greasy as they would if you used Vaseline and also the little tub can fit in even the smallest bag or even your pocket so you can have protection with you all the time.
I would recommend this product to everyone I even bought my daughter a little tub to carry with her in her school bag as I got sick of her pinching mine im glad I did because now her lips look nice all the time instead of coming out of school with big red chapped lips so definitely worth the investment!
I work in a care home as a Health Care Assistant and every month or so we have a Bodyshop representative who comes in and sells to all the old people, she gives some of her commission to the home for letting her set up for the day and so as staff of course we are encouraged to buy. Luckily most times the lady comes is a Monday and I don't usually work them so I can get out of it however one of her visits was on my day in work and with the Manager standing over I felt I should make a small purchase in support of the home and ended up buying this lip butter.
The representative allows us to smell and try products and I really liked the smell of this one which was why I selected it, the tub cost me £4 which is for 10mls of product which is actually pretty tiny.
The lip butter comes in a little pink plastic tub which has a screw top lid on it, there is a picture of surprise surprise a pink grapefruit on the top of it! On the back of the tub you have the contact details for the Bodyshop if you should need them and a fold out piece of paper with the ingredients on it which of course is helpful if you have allergies.
On opening the lid you can smell a lovely sweet fruity smell which reminds me of Robinsons Fruit and Barley drink of this variety, the butter feels exactly like butter thick and moist. The butter is easy to apply with the tip of your finger and with a simple touch to the butter it will cling onto your fingertip without any effort. The butter glides onto your lips really nicely and makes then feel really moisturised and also gives them a little shine.
I got this product a couple of months ago and have been using it on and off since, I keep it in my handbag for when i'm out or at work and then use other lip balms when i'm home that way I always have something with me when I feel I need it. My lips always feel dry and chapped in the cold weather and I have found that this lip butter has really helped to prevent my lips drying out and have found that I suffered a lot less than usual with sore lips.
I would rate this lip butter 5 stars as even though it is more expensive than a standard lip balm it gives much better moisture to the lips and has saved me a lot of winter soreness, the smell may be the only problem as you are very tempted to keep licking it off unfortunately it doesn't taste as good as it smells!
=The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter=
This seems ironic as I have just wrote a review on the Body Shop Loyalty card, but just having my birthday I was entitled to a gift of £5, or £5 off my purchases, and as Pink Grapefruit is one of favourite flavours, one of my purchases was the Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter
=Price and Availability=
This is a Body Shop own brand product and can be purchased both online and in store, this Lip Butter is priced at £4
The tub is a pink mini tub, and holds 10ml of Pink Grapefruit lip butter.
As soon as I opened the tub the smell was amazing, very refreshing yet the zingyness of Pink Grapefruit, just like cutting a pink grapefruit in half.
You unscrew the top and apply the lip balm with your finger, I just qlide over and rub my lips together, you only need a small bit of the balm, as a little does really go a long way.
They are so soft, it is like they have had their own beauty treatment, they f
eel very supple, and I can smell the pink grapefruit. My lips are hydrated all day and feel so soft, even when the weather was as cold as it has been this winter, the lip butter kept my lips from cracking.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this body butter, and it really does an amazing job,
I had never used a Body Shop lip butter prior to using this Pink Grapefruit lip butter but I have used (and still do) the pink grapefruit body butter. I love the body butter and I adore the smell especially, so I had high hopes for this lip butter too. It cost me £4 when I bought it and I think they are still available to buy right now. I am sure my own (very small) Body Shop doesn't stock the full range of products and if yours is the same, I have found that often the best option is to just look online where they have tons of extra items you can buy for exactly the same price as they sell in the shop.
I often have problem lips in that they become dry and cracked, especially during the colder times of the year and a lot of lip salves I use don't work especially well for me as they just seem to sit on the surface of the lips and I feel that I always need something a little bit more intense and something that will penetrate the first layer of the skin on the lips in order to hydrate and get rid of cracks and splits.
For £4 I got my tiny 10ml sized pink plastic pot with screw off lid. It looks very much like a small condensed version of my Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Butter. It's so small and very handy to use and I just pop it into my bag and take it with me most days when I am off to work. It does occasionally get lost in the bottom of my bag though as it is very small.
The consistency of this lip balm is quite thick and buttery. The colour is off white but as soon as you remove the lid off from the base you are immediately able to smell the tangy and zesty smell of fresh grapefruits. It's enough to make your mouth water! The lip balm is to be applied with the finger (I use my ring finger) and you only need to use the tiniest amount as a little of this goes a long way.
It's immediately absorbed into the lips and I like to press mine together and then apply a little bit more to give my lips a bit of shine and plumpness.
It has improved the quality of my lips over the time I have been using it. Unlike most products, I wouldn't say that you have to keep on using this product over a long period of time before you start to see results. This lip balm has the ability to start to work pretty quickly after application. I use it both on its own and also over lipstick.
The sell is gorgeous and it's definitely made my own lips look a lot better and less cracked then they were before. Even my husband has tried it and used it before he's taken the dog out for a walk and he also rates it very highly.
I love this and really do very highly recommend it.
It was my birthday last month and I received a huge haul of gorgeous fragranced gifts. One of the gifts that I received was a large stash of Pink Grapefruit fragranced products from the Body Shop, which included this pink grapefruit lip butter. The pink grapefruit lip butter comes in a little 10ml tub, and a quick look on The Body Shop website tells me that this retails for £4.
The pink grapefruit lip butter is like a miniature scaled down version of the pink grapefruit body butter in all respects; from the miniature pale baby pink tub with the screw off lid, to the gorgeous pale baby pink coloured 'butter' inside the tub.
The pink grapefruit lip butter smells absolutely divine, as soon as I open the tub I can smell the citrussy pink grapefruit fragrance. It's a really natural and refreshing pink grapefruit fragrance, it doesn't smell artificial or synthetic at all. It's a really zesty and refeshing and a real 'wake you up' kind up fragrance. I find that after I've slicked this over my lips that the zesty pink grapefruit fragrance will linger on my lips for quite some time.
I'm not normally a fan of lip balms and lip butters where you have to apply the product with your finger, as I do think that they're not very hygienic. Having said that though the lip butter is easy to apply, I just gently wipe my finger across the top surface of the pink butter and then slick my finger across my lips. I do only need a very very small amount of this lip butter as it's a very thick and rich and creamy lip butter, and using more than just a very small amount just leaves my lips with a greasy buttery coating. It's very quickly and easily absorbed into my lips if I've only used a very small amount, it basically just seems to melt into my lips, and it leaves my lips wonderfully soft and smooth and fragranced with the divine pink grapefruit scent. My lips feel really supple and hydrated all day whenever I use this lip butter.
I don't really tend to shop in The Body Shop, as I do think that most of their products are overpriced. However I'm definitely going to be purchasing more of the pink grapefruit products for our upcoming holiday; the pink grapefruit lip butter included.
When it comes to The Body Shop I can't say I'm the stores biggest fan. Don't get me wrong I usually like the products but do think they are highly expensive. Yep I know that most of the packaging is recyclable and not tested on animals but lets face it we can pick similar stuff up near on anywhere alot cheaper than The Body Shop sell it at these days. However I do go instore and I do look online to see whats on sale and I do love a good bargain so it is a shop that I frequent for that reason really.
This product was not on sale when I bought it. It cost me £4.00 for a tub of it and I bought it for two reasons. The first being that I have owned The Body Shop lip butters and really found them very good quality and very good for my prone to dry lips and also my old one from The Body Shop I wrote about a long time ago has only just ran out! I opted for a different flavour and after a quick sniff of an open pot of this instore I opted to try it out.
The lip butter comes packed into a small round (it holds 10ml of the lip butter) pink coloured plastic pot with a twist on lid to the top of it and on that lid there is a picture of a grapefruit and we are told clearly what it is by and who it is by and then on the base of the pot the ingredients are listed as is the size and contact details for The Body Shop. Its easy to open and close this one and robust to knock about in my pocket or handbag.
The Lip Butter:
This is a dense and thick butter, off white in colour and it has a strong zesty aroma of naturally sweet grapefruits to it and that's what attracted me to it in the first place to be honest with you. You only need a little dabbed on your finger and I wear this alone on my lips when they feel really dry and even under a lipstick when I feel the need to. Like I say you only need a bit of this smooth butter and it does't go on thickly or greasily and just leaves a nice sheen on the lips that is rather natural looking.
I bought this hoping that it would be kind and soften the skin on my lips and I'm pleased to report that after just a couple of uses the condition of my skin has much improved, has a less tight feeling and even now when I haven't got it on my lips really do appear smoother and softer and application of colours on my lips is much better.
This does taste a little of grapefruits and the smell lingers on my lips for a while and all in all I really do like this one. Its easy to use, its highly effective and works out very economical even though I keep slapping it on as I really don't need to use very much at all per application!
Really nice this and it gets a huge thumbs up from me.
Only available from The Body Shop.

I have always liked The Body Shop Body Butter's and have tried them in many different fragrances so when my Mum bought me The Body Shop Lip Butter I was keen to try it and see if it was as good as the body butter I had tried in the past. Personally I had never tried any of the Lip Butter before so I hoping it would offer something different to regular lip balms I had tried in the past.
The Body Shop Lip Butter comes in a small round plastic orange pot, it has a lid on the top which simply screws on and off, this has a round label cover it which has the words Lip Butter and the flavour (Pink Grapefruit) written around the edge in white lettering, in the centre of this is The Body Shop logo, the label is covered with pictures of pink grapefruits sliced in half. The bottom of the pot has a round label on it this has several layers which can be peeled back this contains product information such as the ingredients and facts about the lip butter. The packaging is quite simple but it does tell you all you need to know about the lip butter.
The Lip Butter
The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter is a pale orange colour and what surprised me about this product was the consistency, I imagined it would be quite soft as it is a lip balm that you apply with your finger, however it is quite solid, I did wonder whether it would be difficult to remove the lip butter from the pot, however by simply sweeping your finger over the surface you get enough to give a reasonably coating. The fragrance of the Lip Butter is just as I imagined it, it really did smell like fresh grapefruit, there was no artificial fruity smell at all, it smelt good enough to eat. This lip butter is designed to moisturise and soften your lips, information on the back of the packaging states that the making of this product supports the Shea Butter trade from Ghana and the Beeswax trade from Zambia by using these ingredients in the production of this product.
Directions for Use
There are no strict directions of use, this product can be used as much or as little as you like, there are no set amount of times of day that it can be applied and there is no set amount to be used at a time.
The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter comes in a pot as I have mentioned but comes with no applicator, when I apply my lip butter I simply use my finger, I run it over the surface of the lip butter in the pot and then smooth it evenly over my lips, I then repeat if necessary or depending on how much I feel I need
Appearance of the Lip Butter
There is nothing to say on the packaging that The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Butter has a tint or colour to it, the lip butter itself is coloured, however this does not transfer to your lips. I have found that when you apply a small amount of the lip butter to your lips it does not leave any colour on them and you lips look natural. If you apply quite a thick coat of the lip butter it does lighten your lips slightly and you can see the product, however a small amount just gives them a subtle sheen.
Price and Availability
The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip butter is obviously only available from The Body Shop as it is one of their own branded product, the 10ml pot costs £4.00, this does sound a little expensive for a lip butter, however in my opinion it is well worth it as it is extremely long lasting. I have had my lip butter for a while now and have used it regularly and I still have over half the pot left. I find that you only need a small amount at a time making economical.
As I have mentioned I have been using The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter for a while now and I have been extremely pleased with it, I love the fragrance of this and it does not leave a nasty taste in your mouth whilst you are wearing it. Most importantly the lip butter does exactly what it is meant to, within a few minutes of applying this to my lips they already start to feel softer and smoother.
Whilst I am wearing the lip butter it does not leave my lips feeling greasy, yet on the other hand it does not have a drying effect, it definitely moisturises. I find that the lip butter lasts a long while once it has been applied to you lips, it does wear off a little as you eat and drink but I find that the majority of it stays in place, again helping with the moisturising effect as it allows the lip butter to soak right into your skin.
Considering how well the lip butter lasts in my opinion it is worth the money and reasonably price, it is also an excellent quality product. I find that the slightly solid consistency of the lip butter helps it to be more economical as it means you do not scoop up too much at once, the lip balm does soften a little during warmer weather however no so much that you end up using too much of it.
I would definitely recommend The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter and will definitely be purchasing it again in the future when my pot eventually runs out.
I love beauty products but the one thing that I can't live without is lip balms and glosses. I am obsessed with them and have to many lying about the house/in my car/handbags/work desk. I really do seem to buy a new one every time I am in a shop because I can't stand having dry lips.
This is different to balms and glosses because it is a lip butter. The Body Shop do a range of body butters and this looks just like a miniature version of that.
Pink Grapefruit is one of their really nice body butters so I had to try the lip butter especially as it is such a lovely smell.
They are made from shea butter, vitamin E and pik grapefruit oil to protect and hydrate your lips and soothe them when dry and also smooth them from any cracks etc.
They feel a lot like the body butters but just ever so slightly softer and a tiny bit oilier.
They are easy to apply as they are soft enough that running my finger softly along the butter will put enough on it to cover my lips.
They give instant hydration but I do find them a little strange to use as although they give instant hydration and soften my lips lovely they aren't as slick as other balms and it feels a tiny bit strange than I am putting something on my lips that isn't making them a little bit more glossy. This oes a great job of putting moisture back inside my lips instead of just making them feel greasy and more comfortable for an hour or so and this is great to use when I go to bed as in the morning my lips are feeling much better and they certainly look less dry and cracked.
If I wear this during the day I do tend to put something a little bit greasier on top such as gloss or even just Vaseline as I like the look and feel of my lips being moist and although this is great at soothing and healing it is lacking that wet feel for me.
It does taste smell and taste lovely too so make sure and not lick it all off when using it. It is a great butter that will help to put moisture back in deep down in your lips but don't buy it expecting it to give a good cosmetic look to your lips as it isn't designed for that. It does make an absolutely fantastic base for lipstick however and makes it last for ages longer than it would normally.
It costs £4 and I think this is a really good price especially when you consider that unlike something like vaseline which only sits on the top of your lips and doesn't actually do anything to heal them this does actually make lips better when they are suffering.
