Advantages: Brilliant for lips. Tons of everyday uses!

Disadvantages: Will not replace a coloured lipstick for those who like them,

Vaseline is really a lot more usefull than it is sometimes given credit for! It is simply a pretty little tin of pure Petroleum Jelly, but the beauty of this and lack of other ingredients makes it a wonderfull mulititasker! Availible in a small tin for 99p in boots it is great value for money! They do other versions such as the Rose version which comes in a pink tin and tints your lips pink, the yellow which has added SPF and the green which contains aloe vera. Having tried all the different types the original vaseline is still my favourite! The small tin is a perfect size for in pockets, handbags, schoolbags and sports bags and it's uni sex packaging means it's great for either sex! My boyfriend will only ever put vaseline on his lips and refuses to carry lip balm...*rolls eyes*!

Luscious Lips <3

I love to put vaseline on my lips, you only need a very small amout to evenly cover your lips so the tins lasts for a good couple of months! (Probably slightly less if your lips are as big as Jaggers but good value never the less). It is clear so unlike coloured products if you are putting this on while you are on the go and it smudges you are not left with big pink or red streaks on your face! Vaseline gives your lips a nice natural gloss which is perfect for during the day, particularly in the winter when it's cold outside and your lips get chapped and harsh central heating makes them sting! I always carry vaseline with me and it gets borrowed often during the winter, other lip balms sooth the lips but apart from carmex I have yet to find anything that protects the lips quite as well! This is the traditional use of vaseline and is what springs to mind when it is mentioned but is great for LOTS more!

Flawless Feet! :-D

Hard days work, dancing all night in nightclubs, sport and general wear and tear can make for dry, sore and cracked skin on your feet but vaseline is a little treasure to help cure this! Every night before I go to bed if my feet feel sore or I notice even slightly rough skin I will cover the affected area in a little bit of vaseline, put on a pair of cotton socks and head of to sleep, when I wake in the morning I have soft smooth and well recovered feet. The vaseline moisturises feet, the lack of harsh chemicals means they can be put anywhere with damaged skin withough causing stinging! I have found vaseline to be kinder to my feet than some foot creams as when the skin is cracked it does not cause irritation which other products do. It is gentle on my tootsies! Another great tip is when wearing flipflops for the first time placing a wee bit of vaseline on between the big toe and the toe next to it, this stops is rubbing your toe and making it sore as it acts as a protective barrier. The same can be applied to all shoes where they are hurting your feet, rubbing a bit of vaseline where the shoe rubs your foot stops blistering and damaging your feet!

Knockout Knees! ;-)

When it comes to applying faketan knees and elbows are the worst offenders for turning a much darker shade than the rest of your body! On top of this is find my knees often look very dry and sometimes grey! I overcome this by rubbing vaseline on my knees like I do with my feet before bed the morning before a night out, when wake up my knees are nice and smooth and applying fake tan is much much easier! Even when I'm not wearing faketan before going out I will rub vaseline on my knees to make them look softer and more attractive! There is no scent of this vaseline so it's easy to go to sleep without being distracted by the smell!

Clever colouring :-O

EVERY time I dye my hair I end up with hair dye all over my neck, ears and face! A great tip from my granny I have found usefull is that before dying my hair to go round the edges of my hair line and apply vaseline, this means when I make a mess i can wipe it of with cotton wool! It works and considering the mess and amount of scrubbing that I used to have to carry out, I would buy vaseline just for this purpose! Also I use a lot of bright colours when I dye my hair and often these stain the sealent of my bathtub out of curiosity I had a wee go at putting vaseline on this before I showered and found that if I did so and wiped it of after I was no longer staining my bath tub! Using Vaseline to protect against hairdying nightmares has saved me money buying hairdye removing wipes and replacing my bath sealant!

Shiney Shoes 8-)

Applying a little vaseline to patent or dress leather shoes after they have been cleaned gives them a great shine, the vaseline also helps to protect them like it does to your skine by acting as a protective layer, it is like giving your shoes an invisible barrier to dirt! Imagine your horror when you travel all the way into town for an interview to realise that your shoes are filthy! Easily sorted if you have your secret weapon in your bag (vaseline) nip to the toilet, wipe your shoes (the dirt will come of much easier because the vaseline was put on in the morning) and then apply a little more and you end up with smart, respectable shoes again! Another tip with my granny she discovered years ago which continues to work!!

Runway Rash! >:)

I always forget to buy shaving cream and in the instance that i do but desperatly need to "defluff" I will do so then as soon as I am out the shower apply vaseling to the affected area. I have found doing this means I do not get the stinging razor I tend to get and that it makes all the areas of skin really soft. I no longer have to worry about this unsightly rash...Thank you Vaseline!

I'm sure there is tons more uses for vaseline but these are the ones I have found to help me out! Perfect for it's intended purpose and at 99p I simply cannot fault this! For those who like coloured lipstick this will not satisfy you on that count but do not rule this out as a beauty essential!

Summary: What a clever little tin!
